I read the thread, very heartbreaking 🙁  It does sound like “on paper” they were doing fine, but something was just a little off. That is a good example for people getting to this in- between stage that seems kind of rare but happens. Yours seem like they are on doing much better than mine were. That’s so cute that she flopped against him, that’s def a bonded bun thing. 🙂 Getting closer and closer is a good sign. 🙂  And even a little grooming is great.

Hazel: Bonding is doing well. Although there were a few tiffs yesterday, Silver humped OB, OB bit Smokey… but overall they did well. 🙂 I’m thinking maybe one more week in the neutral territory then semi-neutral territory? 😕

They ate hay all day before and it did crumble, but I think this hay looks nice so maybe it tastes better too. I think I might just keep feeding this although it’s quite a bit more expensive than the bales.  They just won’t be allowed to poop and pee on it as much 😀

Dark vs. light poo can be a result of less hay consumption, as well as more or less hydration, I believe. Thus, more hay typically means light, dry, more crumbly poo. If the poop is lighter brown as a result, it’s probably a reflection of their hay consumption. I wouldn’t be too concerned about it!
