I would avoid picking him up if at all possible. The least stressful thing to do would be to train him to go into his carrier, then carry him where he needs to go. Since he lets you touch his feet, you might be able to trim his nails without picking him up at all. If he won’t let you do it while he’s on the floor, you can try putting him up on a…[Read more]

I think the most important thing is to teach the cat that the rabbits aren’t toys. If the cat starts to stalk, paw at or pounce on the bunnies (or even just gets that hunting “look”) put a stop to it immediately. Spend some time playing with the cat (away from the rabbits so they aren’t being associated with play time) and try another meeting when…[Read more]

    Hey everyone!

So I’ve been pre bonding for about 8 days now and just letting my bunnies smell and get used to eachother.

Today I took them for a ride in my car for about 20min to stress bond them and they did great no fighting!

My question is, How long do I stress bond them until I put them together?

@Liv: staining from hay in the litter box can be prevented by adding a litter screen or moving her hay around. My bun pees in the back of the box, so I put the hay in the front and litter in the back. you can also hang hay over the litter box In a hay bag or hay rack so she isn’t sitting in it.

@Bam I checked her skin and it looks and feels normal. Thank you so much for the help!

@Louiethebunny she is a little over 1 year.

Maybe it is from the litter box. Do you know if there is anything I can do to prevent this? Also, her tail hair sometimes falls out in hunks. Is that normal during the time when they molt?

    Thank you for your help!

If they are fighting very badly, you will need to separate then restart the bonding process. It is also possible they weren’t fully bonded.

Yeah, vaccines aren’t required in the US for rabbits, so the vaccines need to be imported. I hope I can get one for Louie because his one year vet visit is coming up in a few months.

Hi! I have two female, spayed rabbits that have been bonded for about 2 months strong. The process took about 3 months so they’ve had interaction for about 5 months now.

I have them together in their own area, and they’ve been inseparable since I’ve put them together. Sometimes I question if they’re lovers that’s how much they’re together!…[Read more]

It is now time where it is finally mandatory that I need to finally carry and handle my bun. He is not only having his first vet visit coming up but his nails are also getting long.

I spent the last 3 months doing the bonding thing and it has actually worked out great. My bun accepts pets literally everywhere except his chin, neck and belly. I…[Read more]

We have gone backwards. I’m not too discouraged because while it was fantastic I could free-roam both at the same time, since they weren’t bonded, I sort of accepted the possibility things could go either direction. They have been confined to the pen for longer periods of time, but that didn’t help with the new chasing when free-roamed, so I went…[Read more]
