How odd…. waiting longer and rechecking does seem like the right move. In my mind it would be important to know for sure to make sure she didn’t end up getting a reproductive cancer later in life.
As for the aggression, has that been in neutral territory? It’s common for rabbits to be aggressive towards each other in non-neutral space.
There…[Read more]

The vet didn’t mention ovaries but I imagine there weren’t any as they thought he could possibly be a male, however she has a vulva. They said she could possibly have testicles that are hidden but didn’t want to risk digging around for them while she was under as it had already been around 30 minutes of them looking for a uterus. I figured the s…[Read more]

There are cases with rabbits who have no uterus or under-developed uterus. Was there any mention of seeing ovaries? It is the ovaries that actually produce the hormones, I believe. It is possible that they haven’t developed yet, yes. I haven’t been with a female rabbit through a spay so unfortunately I cannot give an idea of the age expectancy,…[Read more]

Hello,
I had a rather interesting thing happen to my rabbit today and was wondering if anyone had a similar situation. I took my female rabbit of 4.5 months to get spayed today, only to receive a phone call from the vet saying she had NO UTERUS. She has female parts down there however. Is it possible that it hasn’t begun developing yet? They s…[Read more]

Today during my shift I had someone film me getting Catalina to put her back in her hutch for the night. Ignore my rambling lol. She’s a pretty feisty one but doesn’t struggle too much once you’ve got her.
@pinkimarie it totally is a football hold!
This link should let you view the…[Read more]

Oh wow!
That is quite the development, and good to know the vet found the error!
I flagged this for the other moderators, as I know some of them have more knowledge than I do with adrenal issues. I have never heard of it in a female so this is very interesting.

Louiethebunny replied to the topic Help! My bunny won't eat any hay! in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 2 months ago
Are you feeding 1/3 cup each meal, or spreading 1/3 cup between morning and night? 1/3 cup twice a day is a large amount, and even though younger rabbits can be free-fed pellets, you can adjust his pellets to only one time a day to encourage hay eating during the rest of the day, or cut down a little on pellets. I’ve been feeding my 7 mo rabbit…[Read more]

I agree, if you’re looking for a more temporary situation, you can try fostering rabbits, it’s less commitment, especially because you are leaving for college soon. I am also going to college in several years, but I’ve been contemplating several plans like my rabbit living at home for a few years with visits and such. If you are very committed to…[Read more]

Rabbit breed is not really an indication of how long they’ll live. It is good that you’re thinking towards the future and understanding that a healthy rabbit will go beyond what you anticipate your desires are for a pet. I agree with @FluffyBunny that it is not a good idea to adopt one with you knowing a “cut-off” point. Fostering would be more…[Read more]

I don’t want to discourage you lol we’ve been at it over a year, but I have a mini breed rabbit and 2 average sized buns. The mini bun broke into the big bun’s play area and she almost killed him…it was his fault, he was harassing her and she’s 4 times bigger than him. But I backed way off for a long long time because I was so freaked out about…[Read more]

This is kind of how I do it too, but with my particularly bad at being handled rabbit I have to cover his eyes, so I’m scooping with left, covering eyes with right, then up into a football hold (which he tries to kick out of every time). When practice hopefully your bun will feel comfortable enough with this to just allow it, which is ideal…[Read more]
