Hello,
I tried contacting a shelter but they didnt respond, the thing is most of the shelters just rescue cats, dogs and other similar animals which isnt exotic.
He got closer to me now, sometimes he just keeps running away from me as if he has seen a ghost, I just give him some time and he becomes normal.
Like when I get off my bed, he will…[Read more]

I didnt hear anything about it in my country yet actually. I was working and I suddenly saw him laying flat and it looked strange as he never did that before, I petted his head lightly, as they usually become happy with that, but he started to behave in a paranormal way.
I picked him up and his head was almost touching his spine and he kept…[Read more]

Ditto, shredded paper gets soiled quickly, but it’s a quick inexpensive options for old paper or for a quick fix in between buying other types of litter too.

Thank you for this info I will definitely check out that list, she doesn’t seem phased that she isn’t having veg so that makes it a little easier
I will make notes of some of these and try them slowly once I am confident she is okay

Hi there!
My bunny is starting to lick a few items such as clothes, pillows, stuffed animals that are laying on the floor (messy siblings!)
I read somewhere online that licking items is a sign of bonding, but when it comes to me, she won’t lick anything with my scent on it! I’m the one that is usually with the bunny the longest and spend time…[Read more]

I’m so sorry for your loss. 🙁
I agree that he could be depressed from losing his mate. He does look so sad in those pictures. 🙁 In the meantime he might benefit from a stuffy to cuddle up to, as well as extra cuddles from you.
Do you know what his mate died of? Also wondering if you are in an RHDV outbreak area, because RHDV causes sudden…[Read more]

Hmmmm, with my cat I try to discourage him from going into the buns area (mostly with a squirt bottle…). He will occasionally go in to try to eat some hay or sleep in there, but usually leaves the litter box alone as long as there is hay on top.

@Asriel and Bombur , that’s so interesting! I just always assumed once adults it would stay the same. Will be fun to see the changes!

Bunnies that lose their bondmate can often times become depressed. But the fact that he’s eating and pooping normally is a good sign. Would you be able to get him another friend? Do you have a shelter near you that would let you speed date?
if that’s not an option, just normal solo bun behavior is pretty much eat and sleep. Once they’re in their…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Why is my Medically Healthy Rabbit not Eating or Pooping? in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 2 months ago
There aren’t usually vets who advertise as “rabbit dentists”– it’s more so a rabbit veterinarian who is experienced with rabbit dental procedures. Since dental problems with rabbits are common, the chances of finding one is usually pretty good. A good strategy may be calling up vets and asking what dental procedures they’ve done and how often.

That should work. It might get stinky pretty quickly and be a bit messy to clean, but overall it’s totally safe and ok. You’ll just have to clean it a bit more

Both of my boys’ colors have changed since getting older. Asriel used to be mainly white with a little bit of brown and gray. Now he’s mainly brown and gray with a white belly and legs. Bombur has always been orange, but the older he’s gotten the lighter his orange has become. With every molt their color changes. It’s pretty fascinating to see whe…[Read more]

Yes, my cats litter box gets cleaned daily. I also use aspen shavings for the litter with a grid on top. Yet, she still used stitch litter box to urinate in it.

Glad your girl’s spay went well! Speed dating is nice but not essential. Sometimes a good speed date still means you spend months bonding! Are they not doing speed dates due to Covid or RHDV? Or both?
Some rescues will allow a “foster to adopt” trial period for bonding. They might be wary of this with an inexperienced bonder, but you could…[Read more]

Is your cat’s litter box clean? If you don’t clean it daily, that might be part of the problem.
If you add a litter box screen and/or a layer of hay on top of the bunny litter that should also deter him.

I’m glad you found a likely culprit for the issues, hopefully removing the broccoli and cabbage will solve the problem!
Romaine is actually very good for buns, your vet was probably referring to iceberg. Romaine and other types of “fancy” lettuces are fine and healthy (red leaf, etc.).
Here is good list of bunny-safe veggies to try once you…[Read more]

My cat keeps peeing in my rabbits litter box inside the house. How do I stop this? I’ve caught my cat peeing in Stitch litter box twice. Anybody have advise on how to stop this behavior? -
HipHopBunny replied to the topic Paper litter? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 2 months ago
Does shredded paper work? I’m not shredding newspaper, just the typical paper, and it would just be one box of paper shreds, then I was going to go back to their old litter. The reason I’m asking is that I have tons from work, and am trying to recycle it instead of just throwing it in the landfill. Thank you @AsrialandBombur for the litter brands…[Read more]
