Although not very unusual, Netherland Dwarf rabbits have my heart, as well as lops with airplane ears! They are just so so so cute!

I do agree that rescues probably know of a good vet nearby, it’s probably inconvenient for rescues to travel far to take care of sick rabbits or rabbits that need surgery. It’s definitely worth a quick call. The HRS also has a list of rabbit-saavy vets from different states.

I’m in the PNW too, and yesterday was soo hot, here it was 90-91 degrees F too. I sprayed down the sheet I cover Louie’s xpen with so the entire area underneath was nice and cooled down.

There isn’t really a set amount of time to do full-on side swaps, but most people do somewhere between 2-6 weeks. I kind of gauge it on how the bunnies are behaving. They did an X-ray and said there isn’t anything blocking, it’s just gas. I opted to bring her home because I think she’ll do better at home.

This isn’t my normal vet, so I’m not sure if this is a great vet. They said they want to keep her overnight because they want to give her injectable meds first thing in the morning.

That’s a possibility and unfortunately I don’t have too many thoughts since I can’t see her or interact with her. My initial thought is what they would do overnight if they don’t even have staff overnight? I found a vet, they are giving her fluids,  and doing xrays. They don’t have staff staying overnight but they still want to keep her over night. I’m scared if I leave her, she will be too nervous to poop. What do you guys think?

They do not go into the free roam area together, they alternate throughout the day. I agree that it would be quite stressful, how long would you do full pen swaps?
