Moose is so handsome. Love that coloration! He’s very shiny too.

Satins have a different structure to their hair so they are very shiny and silky soft.

Here’s some pics of my Moose. He had the otter type coloration but Satins can be other colors too!

@Louiethebunny – I should have just said interesting/cute breeds, I really don’t know much about rabbit breeds so all are a bit unusual. The Lops are really cute, though personally I love big stick up ears

Medication I can’t give much advice on, I just put his stuff on a thin apple slice and hoped for the best when he was neutered. If it takes a bribe I generally don’t worry too much with meds though, it’s temporary and in the grand scheme of things it’s better they got the meds.

It seems like you will need to put something solid over the cloroplast. While you can fasten fleece liners, at the end of the day, any rabbit could sense that it is something that moves and can be removed (with force). I use plywood covered with peel and stick vinyl tiles in my CC condo instead of coroplast. I use this double stick adhesive on the underside and then pull the fabric edge tight around the edge (so the bun can’t actually get to the adhesive), plus extra binder clamps along the edge for added security.

She gave us Cisapride, Metoclopramide for motility every 8-12 hours, I believe. And Meloxicam every 24 hours. I couldn’t get ahold of the vet but she seemed to be feeling fine. She was walking around and eating so I didn’t give her any pain meds.

The tiles I have on the levels are very thin and don’t add much weight. Most of the weight is from the plywood, and I have thinner wood on the upper levels. When I build it my buns were pretty avid chewers so I had to use wood vs. coroplast or cardboard. Plus then I didn’t need to use grids for the actual level supports.

I don’t think 50 miles is too bad… The shelter I volunteer at gets rabbits from a sister shelter that’s about 70 miles away (they are in the same county but don’t have as high of adoption rates), and the bunnies do OK. They just need some extra time to calm down…[Read more]

@Hazel Tans are so beautiful! My Moose was a Satin and he was soooo handsome, and kind of reminded me of a Tan. Tanlover seemed to disappear from the internet at some point. I was in communication with her a few years ago via facebook but then at some point her blog disappeared and she stopped responding to me. So I have no idea. :-/
