@rabbitlover908 We really are the same lol! Good luck to you! I’m sure your bunnies will be well taken care of with all your research. 😊 I hope COVID clears up as soon as it can. ☹️

I second this. My boys are 3 and both have definitely changed color. Bombur has relatively stayed the same, except he went from a dark orange to a light orange. Asriel went from being mainly white with a little bit of brown and gray on his back, and now he’s primarily brown and gray with a white underside. It’s just a part of growing up.

Oh okay, good to know. Thanks for telling me! I’ll probably get some for them if they aren’t too expensive. 🙂

I vote fleece over towels if possible. If you do end up with a chewer, fleece is safer.

Yeah the newsprint ink is safe but if they have light paws it can stain them slightly.

My bunnies really like stacking cups! I will put their pellets in them, then stack them up, and they have to toss them around to get the toys. The plastic is rigid enough that they don’t chew them. 🙂

At the shelter we give the bunnies baby keys too. The plastic is hard enough they don’t mess with it.

I see many people that use baby toys like plastic keys and plastic stacking cups for bunnies. I don’t know if they will chew it up and eat some plastic though… I just want some safe, inexpensive, fun toys for my rabbits when they get here. Thoughts?

That’s true! We have towels that have been through a lot and we call them dog towels lol. We use them to wipe up my dog when he gets muddy or wet. I could use some of those until they get better with their litter habits! I was planning on using fleece pet blankets from the dollar store or something, but it might be better to use towels for now a…[Read more]

@rabbitlover908 I do so much research online about rabbits that my eyes get sore lol. Maybe it’s my anxiety but I want to make sure I take care of them the best I can and keep them away from danger. I hope you can get a bunny in the future. 🙂

@Louiethebunny That’s a good idea, I could put that on top of the hidey houses or cardboard boxes for playtime!

I’m so grateful the people in my area + FaceBook group are so loving with bunnies. They are willing to drive hours to rescue bunnies from bad situations and take care of them until they can be rehomed.

@prince dorian : found another cute breed! They arent very uncommon but I just discovered them: Polishes. They have huge gorgeous eyes! I thought…[Read more]

The only thing I can think of is maybe using one of those pet store “rabbit cages” (way too small for any animal) if you have an old one. Kind of expensive to buy a new one. You can use it as a litter box. One that has the metal cage top and the plastic bin bottom. Maybe the cat won’t want to go in there? Or you could make it so the opening is to…[Read more]

Towels actually sound great, if you want something quick you can cover a tarp with some towels, my family has a collection of old towels in our linen closet, we call them “rag towels”.. we use them for things like painting, wiping up spills, and I put one in Louie’s carrier when we brought him home. I use the towel as a type of bed and he actually…[Read more]

Something fun might be adding fleece strips as a shredded curtain, its hard to explain what I mean, but it might be fun for your buns to run back and forth.

I like to give my rabbit paper bags filled with hay and some treats inside, he loves shredding it up and getting the food inside. I recently bought some oxbow toys and I’m going to try to recreate them, as buying new toys each week gets a little pricey.
