    YogiWabbit started the topic Question about Given Rabbit Medication in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 2 months ago

    Hello! I took my rabbit to the vet today since I noticed he might of had an eye infection since his corners of his eyes were leaking and he is a lion head rabbit. I assumed his teeth might have overgrown but that doesn’t seem to be the case but they did prescribe me a “ofloxacin ophthalmic solution, usp 0.3%.” I was trying to find some research on…[Read more]

    Awwww I totally wish Wilbur would do that too! He is super snuggly though and always wants to be pet. Whenever I lay on my side on the floor he always lays down against my stomach to be pet. Sadly he hates being picked up and never hops on me be he will lay right next to me!

    I responded to this once but forgot to hit submit. Lol

    @Louiethebunny I love bunny speed dating. The first time I went I took my bunny for a specific other bunny and came home with a completely different one!

    @LBJ10 SHUSH you!

    @Reesebun His name makes me giggle every time.

    @RabbitLover908 If I get him I will be keeping his name. Once I know…[Read more]

    I don’t know if he would flop ON you, but when you have a close bond he might flop near you for comfort! Louie sometimes flops near me and just kinda sleeps.

    I will give it a few more days before I put up the blanket, but they have been eating next to each other and I have been swapping their cages daily.

    Yes I have watched her video! I love her channel!! I have four rabbits because they are awesome… and because I got Theo, and then I wanted to get him a friend, so I went to an animal rescue and…[Read more]

    Hey guys, I just joined this forum and am so grateful for this bunny loving community. I have a male Holland lip named nugget and he is around ten weeks old. So anyways- I love him with all of my heart and absolutely adore petting him. It helps me with my anxiety and Nugget seems to enjoy it as well. Occasionally, I’ll put a treat in front of h…[Read more]

    Partial success today: After two tries, Louie let my pick him up and hold him, I didn’t hold him for long, but he got lots of pellets and head pets.

    Thanks @Louiethebunny, that helps to hear !  He was doing binkies and came up and gave me licks so seems fine and like all is forgiven on his side (I still feel bad about it). The bleeding has definitely stopped too as he was on a pale blanket grooming for a bit, and I didn’t see anything. How dramatic, at least I think I got the front paws all…[Read more]

    It most likely was, nobody really clips down far enough to be very deep into the quick. Even if he kicked, I bet it was just a little part. Yes, styptic powder is just to help stop the bleeding. If Dorian is still hopping around, I’m sure he’s fine, especially because he stopped bleeding.

    I just read this on bunnylady which looks like a good website:

    “If you accidentally clip into the quick and the rabbit’s nail starts to bleed, you can use a cotton ball with a little flour or cornstarch to help stop the bleeding. Press the cotton ball against the nail for a couple minutes. After the blood has stopped flowing, allow your rabbit t…[Read more]

    He seems to have stopped bleeding, I can’t really get him to let me look at his paw closely, but I was able to set it on a tissue and it’s not leaving any blood. I think the styptic is just to stop bleeding right? He is currently running through his tunnels and doesn’t seem to be hurting. I’ll definitely pick some up for the next attempt, but not…[Read more]

    I don’t have styptic powder, thought I did but can’t find any. And yeah just did it. Went to clean his paw and he has already washed it all off. I’ll go see if I can dab flour on it. Ugh, poor little Dorian. I could also run to pharmacy for styptic powder, but not sure I should leave him?
