One of the buns I got today has had a few big poops. I have this photo comparing to my thumbnail. He also had at least one that was a bunch of like normal sized poops clumped together. Is this just from stress? Not eating enough hay because of the change? What else? Thanks.

It’s important to mention that dental problems being associated with low hay eating is a really common pairing, but it doesn’t necessarily mean dental problems was the initial cause of the reduced hay eating. Reduced hay eating typically causes a lack of dental maintenance, leading to dental problems, which feeds into the original “not eating a…[Read more]

I agree with @DanaNM that it would be good to cover the wood. It’s one of those things where you can’t really “deep clean” it once pee gets absorb. When I first got my Wick, we had a converted dresser as his cage and the wooden ramp was a pee hot spot. I’d soak it in vinegar/water spray, but it was impossible to actually clean.

@DanaNM Yeah Iโ€™m trying not to bug them too much but I had to clean up a bit. They are in my bedroom so Iโ€™m in here all the time lol. I gave them more hay in the litter box because they seem to be eating that more than the hay in the racks. Bedtime now so we will all be sleeping! ๐Ÿ™‚

That day was ROUGH thanks y’all for being nice ๐Ÿ™‚ I also made a post in a facebook group and gotย  a ton of “rehome him” “maybe a rabbit isn’t for you”

And I think he was gassy and having a bad day too ๐Ÿ™ He was farting a ton and hasn’t acted the same way since I also gave him a towel and he loves to dig in it! It has been a life saver

I would just give them a bit more space and time to chill out. My buns don’t eat so much hay during the day, and usually need a bit of time to chill after any kind of travel. As exciting as it is, try not to hover too much. Hopefully by this evening they will be munching away.

@Louiethebunny Thanks! 😊😊 I love them too!!! 💕 They do seem happy now they are more settled in. The grey one is currently laying down with one foot the the water bowl lol. Iโ€™ve been with them all day now, so they are a little trusting of me. They are more scared of my family. They have been enjoying resting and chewing. I wish they were eating m…[Read more]

Louie was never a digger, but Lola is, and some ceramic tiles did the job for me. I LOVE THEM! They are such cuties, and flops already? They must love their new home!

@DanaNM Thanks!! 😊 Iโ€™m working on names, I just wanna know their personalities better! Thanks! Iโ€™ll try that if they chew the fleece. The white one already tossed around and smushed his cardboard hidey house flat to chew on and rip. So thatโ€™s a part of his floor now lol. They havenโ€™t been eating much hay, is that okay? Maybe theyโ€™ll eat more tomo…[Read more]

It would be good to protect the wood. You could put some peel and stick vinyl tiles over the wood.

Awww congrats! They are so cute! I love that pic of the white one with his face smushed into the wires!

    Do they have names yet??

For flooring, might be easiest just to throw down some cardboard instead of the fleece for now. That way it’s easy to replace and safe if they chew it up. Some buns are just fleece chewers, esp if it isn’t pulled…[Read more]

He is lucky to have a good home now!

You have been given great advice so far. I think they will both benefit from an extended settling in period just living as neighbors. Bonding and pre-bonding will be easier once they feel safe and trust you (and you will have a better read on their true personalities). ๐Ÿ™‚

Yep, agree with pinkiemarie that a vet can diagnose dental problems, but other symptoms include drooling, increasing picky-ness in eating, and other signs of discomfort. And I also agree that if he’s very small then he might just be filling up on veg and pellets. ๐Ÿ™‚
