Ok, good to know! Poor Wick! I’m glad he’s all better now. The two weeks is a prescription for now, we are going to the vet again then to get a second check-up. Fingers crossed that he starts feeling better soon! I feel so bad for him when he sounds snotty 🙁

we don’t intend to use any of the flowers we have as a staple item, just treats, and our herbs just to supplement “normal” types of greens 🙂

@DanaNM That is awesome! The more rabbits vaccinated, the better, and 71 is GREAT! I just keep hoping that RHDV2 will come to an end. Scary times. Unfortunately, where I am I can’t vaccinate my girlies. Good news is, it hasn’t reached us here, although I am in a state with RHDV2. Fingers crossed that is goes away soon.

This thread kind of slowed down but I just wanted to share that we vaccinated 71 rabbits for RHDV2 at the shelter on Wednesday, and my 3 kiddos yesterday, and they are all doing great! This included a bunch of senior rabbits as well.

Only one bun had some slight soreness and a very low fever the next day, and everyone is back to normal today!

Wick is all better now. His was a very unusual case, in that it took several months of trying medications and then a longer course than usual for him to get over it. In hindsight, it may have been more difficult for Wick to fight it because his body was also trying to fight syphilis (which we didn’t know he had until later on).

Thanks! I do use rags to clean, I just find it easier than paper towels, so I’ll probably try out some reusable liners, if both rabbits use the same litter box once they’re bonded, I probably won’t use a liner and just clean the whole thing every day.

The shorter life expectancy for intact rabbits mainly applies to females because of the high cancer rate. Males can get testicular cancer, but it’s fairly rare. So Muffin should be just fine. 🙂
