I grow pansies every year, and I have a lavender out there that I let them eat flowers from. Those are both safe.

I have the Kaytee “Chin Chiller”, which is the granite chilling stone. I got it for my first rabbit but he was more a fan of icepacks. I use the tile now to cover a spot of carpet that my second rabbit chewed up (and we can’t afford to have her do more damage there). Since it’s her nap area, she now rests her front paws and head on the tile daily…[Read more]

Yes! I’m guessing finally being indoors (as the ND heat is so awful right now) really made her feel good, as well as having some toys and a hide box, and a bowl rather than a bottle for water. I was worried because at first I didn’t see any poops, but I see them now and am so relieved! She has such a BIG personality already, I’m so in love!

Panini was exploring the outer bit of her enclosure (she will be a free roamer once she settles in to her “home base”) and was sniffing about her toys…. and then just… binkied! I have very rarely seen binkies (as unfortunately when I was a kid the rabbits had to be outside, and I’m sure that contributed.) and it just, baffled me! I’m so delighteed!

I think just a bit more time. It sounds like she is nervous when he zoomies because she still doesn’t trust him 100%. Increasing the amount of space too quickly might also contribute.

I have never heard of this, but I imagine it would be a great idea! I know my buns appreciate frozen ceramic tiles, but they warm up pretty quickly so have to be replaced often.

Has anyone ever used a chinchilla cooling stone for their buns? Looking for sturdy cooling options as Karou loves to toss things around & Alfred is a chewer (though it’s calming down as she gets more hay). I have fans for both girls and ac but my room still gets a bit warmer than I like on hot days. Right now I use frozen water bottles but I’m…[Read more]

I’ve tried to offer it to her in a shallow dish but no response, not just her, none of my buns eat the pellets mush when kept that way.
And yes, the vet said it is an abscess or a tumor, either way will have to be surgically removed. He’s told me to come on Monday but I keep panicking cause the number of small growths has increased from 2-3 to…[Read more]

@HipHopBunny Yeah he was! And don’t worry, Muffin got some pets too!
@DanaNM He’s mostly white with tan markings like rhinelanders. I haven’t heard of those but I knew he was mixed with something. The animal rescue says he’s a New Zealand rabbit, he’s kinda got the head for that. But he has blue eyes and those tan markings that I wanna know wher…[Read more]

dove replied to the topic New bun! A quick question in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago
We took a nap and couldn’t see her, so we made sure she was in her hide box. She thumped at my fiance when he accidentally woke her, and I’m delighted that she’s confident enough to tell us when we’re annoying her lol

Starting in neutral territory is good. Otherwise, they would fight, for they are very territorial. Waiting a month after spay/neuter is good, for that is how long it takes the hormones to officially drain out. I recommend reading the bonding section in the RABBIT INFO, stories and tips are shared there. 🙂

Thanks for all the replys! I havent noticed them picking at it yet! Hopefully they wont. Well i will leave them in the cage then if its better for them, definitley  dont want to stress them out by taking them to the vets again if anything happens! Only 7 more days to go and they can be back to their normal selves! I have read abit about bonding,…[Read more]

Hi Hazel, and thank you so much for your generous reply! 🙂 That’s really great about your ferret’s doing so well with CBD! 🙂
You make a good point about experimenting with higher dosages since one can’t overdose on CBD. These days I don’t know what more I could ask of Teddy’s health, since thankfully he seems to be doing well (and has bas…[Read more]

Hmm, is she scared when he is out of the pen, or does his presence make her feel better? Maybe when he is zooming you could sit in there with her, and pet her? Some buns actually learn from others how to be brave, so maybe she’ll start binkying all over the place too.
