@Wick Thank you. I’ll try to keep track of it. He has a scar on the top of his nose (the furry part) that I think was from fighting with a rabbit at the petting farm. They gave him up to the animal shelter for fighting with the other unneutered males… And I got him from the shelter. I have a photo from them that shows the cut, but I think i…[Read more]

I think dandelion greens may be diuretics… according to Google, the French word for dandelion means to pee the bed? Haha. I’m unsure if it’s just the flower and/or the greens itself? For one of my rabbits, I can not feed parsley because it made him pee way too much and too forcefully (you could hear it very aggressively). It seemed he was…[Read more]

Thank you so much, Hazel!!  Haha, that is totally him.

Unfortunately last night he stopped eating altogether so we started full treatments and then decided to take him to the vet today.  He hadn’t had bloodwork in almost a year so we thought it’d be good to check at this point.  Thankfully they found him pretty stable and the first round of bl…[Read more]

As your establishing a routine, it may be a good time to incorporate some training, since food is a great incentive. Perhaps be consistent with a sound or word/phrase you use when he does successfully go into the xpen. It may lessen the need to chase in the future!

A part of me says it may be harmless, especially since he’s had it since you got him. Bumps can be harmless, a part of the rabbit, or also be a sign of something more serious. Typically for the latter, the bump will change somehow over time, whether it be get bigger, start showing visible irritation to the rabbit, or something along those lines.…[Read more]

Agreed with @HipHopBunny that even weeks following a spay, hormones take  awhile to settle down. It is typically called the post-spay/post-neuter hormonal “spike”.

Notably, if your rabbit was spayed at an appropriate age, it is likely a large part of her ability to get along with your dog was that she was not experiencing any hormone-driven…[Read more]

I’m so sorry you are going through this! <3 When was Bambi spayed? The first few days after spay their bodies are still figuring out what to do, so she will be more aggressive. It takes a month after spaying for hormones to officially drain out. So hopefully, she will settle down soon.

Wishing you luck, and calm buns!

So i have had my mini lop X lion head rabbit Bambi now since May. when we first brought her home she and my dog Bella were perfect friends. they would sit in bed together, bambi would lick bella and everything was fine. however a coupe of weeks ago we got bambi spayed and thats when everything started.

I think he’s had this since I got him on Sunday. It’s a white bump or furry bump on Pinky’s nose. It’s hard to really see it because he moves his nose a lot. What could it be? I tried to get some photos while feeding him a piece of celery then petting him after (the rescue used to feed him celery). I would take the two buns to the vet to…[Read more]

@Moonlightbunny66 I have 1 room where there is a slippery floor, but I’ve just been too lazy to muster up the energy to buy a rug, so I’ve just been using mats. 😉 Are you planning on having them free roam your entire house or just your room? The room with the slippery floors I’m using for neutral territory, so once my girls are bonded, I would…[Read more]

I used to have a shag rug, and it worked fine and Louie loves to binky on it, but he began to rip it apart and hay was getting caught in it so I moved it to another part of my house, and I replaced it with a woven wool rug. The wool does pill and shed off the rug, but it’s much easier in the long run. It’s much easier to clean as well. My mom and…[Read more]

I thought of getting a carpet for my bedroom floor instead of having to put down a bunch of mats and blankets for playtime. And I could just leave the carpet there all the time. I have a hardwood floor that stains easily when it gets wet. I just thought using a carpet instead of mats would be easier. Both the buns are housed in my bedroom. I have…[Read more]

I tried to continue my old method at 1st but ziggy was still extremely stressed out. He gets so stressed that his nose starts watering. And he is literally shaking the whole time. Or i would have preferred to stick with that method. And that was with no walking around just putting him in the basket and sitting petting them.

As a temporary solution we have duct taped two huge pieces of cardboard under the entire couch. They’re solid so should not be too easy for him to chew and it’ll be loud enough that we can stop him if we hear it. Will be getting a large piece of wood and screwing it to the bottom this weekend.

I’ll have to try some different foods. Maybe I’ll try a fruit? Is it ok to give my bun fruit when he’s only 4 months old and isn’t eating veggies yet? We will be starting veggies soon though, but I need something to use temporarily.

Omg, that’s hilarious! 😆  “I will decide when I eat what, thank you very much human!” Sounds like he’s part cat. 😉

Glad to hear he’s eating some pellets!
