I’m sorry about your situation :(. Maybe you could get one of those ikea bench things that you can cut an entrance in and put their box inside of that. That way when poops get out of the box, you won’t see them. A bigger box might also help; my girl was pooping out of her box a ton, but now that she has a bigger box, there’s only maybe 3 or 4 poo…[Read more]

Agreed, this sucks 🙁 I hope you can find a reasonable solution.
It’s tough because it’s hard to get perfect litter box habits with a bun. Not sure if you ever watched the Youtube channel Lennon the Bunny, but the owner seemed to be able to achieve near-perfect litter training by picking up her bun whenever she could see a poop coming (when L…[Read more]

Some mounting is normal in some bonded pairs. As long as it doesn’t cause an argument, you are all good.

Wick & Fable replied to the topic What did you pay for dental work at the vets? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 11 months ago
Around $120. Things that can factor in are the equipment used, what team needs to be present to complete it and if there are accompanying tests (ie blood tests) that might be lumped into it.
To your knowledge are they experienced with teeth trims?

Lindsey replied to the topic Hay brands in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 11 months ago
If you’re still looking for some suggestions: I’ve been purchasing “Rabbit Hole Hay” brand timothy for a while now – and it’s a hit with my two boys! Like with most hay & SPS, there are different cuts. My bunnies seem to prefer the first cut timothy, and it is the best looking hay as well, i.e. green, fragrant, good mixture of stems, leaves, &…[Read more]

Thanks! 😆 Now I just hope they’ll still love each other after the vet tomorrow. I definitely got lucky picking these two boys to bond.

Honestly they’ve been doing so wonderfully, you would prob be fine to just keep going. Since you haven’t had any problems when moving to new locations (or really at all), my hunch is that it’s going to be smooth sailing. Def take them in the same carrier to the vet, that will be extra cementing!
When you move them to their final home, either give…[Read more]

Louiethebunny started the topic Louie started mounting? in the forum BONDING 5 years, 11 months ago
Hi everyone, today as I was sitting around, I saw Louie trying to mount Lola. I’ve never seen this behavior, and there was no mounting during bonding. Are they not fully bonded? Should I separate them? Lola was totally unfazed and neither got aggressive and it ended quickly so I did not separate them.

They were snuggling and Pinky decided to flop right beside Muffin! It warms my heart. My two rescue bunnies love each other! I’m glad they’re happy. They keep grooming each other. So lovey dovey! -

shasbun replied to the topic Brushing Your Bunny in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 11 months ago
I don’t know if it’s just my bunny, but he won’t let me brush him. I’ve bought so many different brushes for him, from the HairBuster to just a regular dog and cat flea comb. I ended up just lint rolling him, and he tolerates that very well. The frequency of grooming sessions depends on how much their shedding, but for starters I would recommend…[Read more]

shasbun replied to the topic Highly considering a bunny, but worried about the smell in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 11 months ago
They pee pretty frequently, mine pees about once each hour. The smell depends on what litter you use and how frequently you clean their litter box. I found that Yesterday’s News Non- Clumping cat litter is really great for odor control, but it is hard on bunny feet, so I would recommend something soft like CareFresh on top. The only time…[Read more]

This happened to my bunny too! The bald spot grew bigger and new fur started coming in. It’s probably just shedding, but if you do notice other things take her to the vet.

kendall replied to the topic What to do next? in the forum BONDING 5 years, 11 months ago
I just finished with all of the bunny dates, and they were not great. None of them went well. They all reacted pretty much the same and a different bunny started a scuffle within the first few minutes. At this point, I am just going to let the pair be happy together and try and get Rosie and Gwen to be friends.
What I have done for prebonding so…[Read more]

Sometimes it’s that the bunnies are kicking out their poop when they hop out of their litter box, not necessarily that they’re pooping outside. I would recommend getting a closed cat litter box or any litter box with high sides if you don’t already have one, since that would help if they are kicking their poop out. Also try putting the litter box…[Read more]

*jealously reading* Am I going to be reading about another easy bond while my ladies are still not bonded? 😯 😆 This is all just so unfair! 😆
I’m glad your boys love each other. 😀 You are doing an excellent job at bonding them too! 😉
