I googled a bit about the difference between spraying and just peeing outside the litterbox. I’m not sure when rabbits start spraying (is it once they reach sexual maturity around 3-6 months?), but when he pees next to my desk, it’s usually in smaller amounts against the wall. Then there are the normal pee puddles where he misses the litterbox..

I had my makeup stuff on my bed and left to go outside for a few minutes. My rabbit, Wiggles, is free roam and always goes on my bed. However, when I came back I could only find one side of the eyelash. I think she ate the other. I’m worried. Should I be? And what should I do?

I got a paper towel wet and dabbed it, it’s definitely not blood. I think maybe I gave her too many pellets and it made her droppings a little watery. She’s acting normal

The vets I called made it seem like it was out of the question. Most of the sources online said get them fixed before they’re middle aged. Definitely agree, I just didn’t have an option with him aha. Thanks!!

The local rescues have neutered rabbits much older than 6, I believe they recently neutered an 8 year old? As long as he is otherwise healthy and the vet is rabbit savvy, neutering him will be very low risk. My girl was spayed a few months ago, she’s 6 too, and spays are more invasive and higher-risk than neuters.

Six is not too old if he is in good health otherwise. I would keep calling different vets. If they are rabbit savvy and do lots of neuters it should not be a problem.

I noticed some brown liquid where Bernard was sitting. I don’t think it’s blood but I don’t have any hydrogen peroxide to completely rule it out. When she reached down she got a little on her face. Is this normal? Poor girl has already been to the vet this month and has an eye appointment next month so I would for her to have to go again.

Rabbits should be going to exotic vets, not dog/cat vets. Some veterinary practices have both “traditional” vets and exotic vets together, so you’ll see all types of animal clientele going in. It does seem high, but not completely unheard of (especially if it ends up being uncomplicated and on the low end of that range). It seems like the bulk of the cost could come from additional anesthesia, which is pretty normal. But with a neuter the procedure is usually very fast.
