It could be simply difference in food motivation, in which case I’d just make sure it is always available to be grazed on throughout the day (for pellets and veggies). One of my rabbits is pretty food-deterred. In the morning, she’d rather go to a new litterbox to graze on hay than eat pellets. Some days she doesn’t want to eat any veggies and…[Read more]

Sometimes rabbits develop a food security over time, in which they become more confident that food will be presented to them and will stay there, even if they don’t eat it all in one go. This happened to both my rabbits, where initially they’d eat everything right away, but now they simply do a few bites of morning pellets, and then they will…[Read more]

Do you know what breed he is? Aunt breeds are smaller so that could be part of it. That said, if the vet said to increase his pellets then I would definitely do that. Is there a place in his free roam area where you can add an extra litter box with hay? That might also encourage eating.

I recently adopted a bunny who is 5 months old and very light (about 0.9 kg). He apparently was not fed well in his previous home so his growth is a bit stunted. He’s been living with me for about two weeks now, and he’s quite used to the new environment and seems very happy here (binkies, zoomies, flops and all).

However, he’s not eating that…[Read more]

It’s my family’s first holidays with Louie and Lola and we are making them a mini stocking for some fun goodies!  I’m hoping to make them some bunny treats with dried peppermint for the holidays 🙂

The stress of an altered routine and home renovations could be playing a role. Hopefully some bonding sessions and a little TLC will straighten things out! Stress of an altered bond can also cause reduced appetite (esp if one bun is guarding the food).

Maybe you could train them to go into a carrier to transport them for exercise?

Glad she’s improving! Try not to give too many sweet things, as they can upset her gut more (especially when things are slowed), but glad she is eating and starting to poop again!

I tried the heat pack and water bottle and her ears have been consistently warm.. She is beginning to eat a few veggies. I presume the medication she’s on may make her tastebuds funny because she seems to only show interest in sweeter foods (romaine, strawberry, banana, wheatgrass). She’s beginning to run around a little and is slowly pooping.…[Read more]

I feel like a paranoid bun mom for always posting on rabbit forums or Facebook groups whenever something feels off about my Timothy 😔

I was cleaning his litterbox when I noticed something different about his poop. There were some pretty small, golden brown poops mixed in with larger, dark ones. There were also one or two oddly shaped ones like…[Read more]

Thank you for your answer:) There haven’t been any new people or pets in the house, but I was away for a few days and had my dad take care of them. Maybe a different person and routine threw them off a little bit.

I will definitely try to do some bonding and stress bonding sessions to see if that resolves their little scuffles. Thanks for the…[Read more]
