Many thanks for all your comments! Cookie is on oral Azithromycin, 1ml/day since March 6 (15 days now) and on Gentamicin nebulization, .5ml/day for 8 days now, (he weighs 3lb) and he still exhibits the same symptoms as before: quick breathing with some crackling sounds suggesting a blockage in his nasal pathways. I don’t see an improvement. Since…[Read more]

I’ll mention that, although we would generally like rabbits to get a variety of veggies for engagement and extra sources of various nutrition, a variety is not actually needed if they have a good hay appetite and the appropriate amount of pellets. If you wanted to trim down to just romaine lettuce/green lettuces to better test the veggie-theory,…[Read more]

Thanks. Anything for my buns.
Yes, she was spayed early on.
I paid attention and at least yesterday she seemed to eat hay normally. No pee this morning, but poops she left are still not as firm as they should be. Maybe small mixing of urine with poop, maybe something else?

Hello!
I just wanted to give my experience with raspberry twigs. I have 10 acres in the middle of nowhere and have tons of raspberry/blackberry bushes. I regularly cut raspberry branches with thorns and my bunny gobbles them up.
They are generally undeterred by the thorns, he’ll often chew them off first then proceed to the rest of the b…[Read more]

Thanks guys so much. Just as an update – wanted to let you know, I contacted the vet. She ordered some Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim Suspension antibiotics in case my bunny happens to have a UTI. Seems like a good thing to be better safe than sorry! The vet did not actually specify how much of this medicine I should get – their online pharmacy…[Read more]

Thanks for the suggestions! I don’t have anything around wild that I trust hadn’t been treated with chemicals, but dried herbs and growing grass is next on my list 🙂
She doesn’t seem to think she’s missing out and glad to hear it shouldn’t hurt her long term!

Sorry for posting again so soon but I found a recipe for a bunny treat I call “bunny sludge” and thought I’d share!…I hope I didn’t post this already….

Since no one will let me put bunny treats that have pellets in them (nor do we have the “good” oats) I created my own bunny treat a little and in less than 5 minutes it was completely…[Read more]
