Thank you all so much for reassurance. She is like my baby to me haha, i take care of her all the time and love to be with her so it tears my heart apart to leave her.
I hope how you said, it will all be good when I come back and she won’t be upset.

Thank you!
Well i have had her for 4 months but she will turn 6 months soon. So everything puberty related already started haha. But it’s weird because you said she would become less cuddly. but she is the exact opposite!! She is even more cuddly, before I could not even pick her up on hands and now she jumps on me to cuddle.

Thats great you can let Brientje on the bed. I stopped letting Cotton up. He would dig in my hair so I put it under my pillow he found it after 3 nights. Then he would poop in the bed. OK but when he started peeing on my pillow nope. That wouldn’t do lol

I had 2 buns at one time Cotton and Ruby. Was gone for a week. When I got home cotton noticed I was home but hopped off. Ruby came running happy to see me. After giving treats for 3 days cotton still wouldn’t come for petting. Finally after 3 days I had enuf. I picked him up and loved on him he was fine after that. My neighbor would go by and feed…[Read more]

Poor Wick, I hope he gets well soon!
Bunnies are so fragile, but on the other hand they put up a real fight when they’re being handled. Sometimes I think that they have very poor self-preservation instincts.
I’m sorry that you had to experience it, but thank you for sharing the knowledge.

I’m glad you spotted it so early, now you can keep an eye on it to prevent it from turning into sore hocks. They can be difficult to treat if it catches you by surprise.
It caught us completely by surprise that Breintje had sore hocks. I only noticed it when he brushed past my hand and I felt something wet. Both hocks were red and infected…[Read more]

I agree with Bam, she will be OK! Especially since your mum and brother love her too and will take good care of her.
I know I’ve gotten used to being home with my buns all day due to covid, but in the before-times I used to go to work for 8-10 hours a day. My buns all tend to just sleep during the day anyway, so as long as she gets some…[Read more]

They passed something like that in my old county as well, where pet stores could no longer sell rabbits.
I think it was for the best overall, but unfortunately it just meant more breeders in the area. Then during the initial phases of covid when the shelter was closed to the public, everyone turned to the breeders. Then down the road we had a lot…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Nothing will stop buns from destroying carpet, pee pads, and blankets. in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 5 months ago
That’s too bad about the scratchers. I would still give the tiles a shot, you can get the ceramic ones that are about 1 ‘ x 1’, and just lay them all along the carpet edge. I’ve never had a bun move them, even the very persistent ones, because they can’t really get a grip on them.

Yes, based off how it looked in the picture, and based on the fact that you are having issues with peeing outside the box. Those corner boxes are too small for even dwarf breeds of bunnies.

Thats so true. Easter is bad for bunnies. The pet store down the road. On an election ballot people could vote to an selling of animals in pet store. It went thru. Now in the neighboring city Melbourne they can still sell live animals.

@Wick sorry to keep @‘ing you! i ordered the grids for my bun’s cage and I think I’m set on an action plan.
I work at a hardware store (not a big one so no carpet or plastics) but we do get cardboard in with our big items that I can cut to size. So I was thinking I can cut the cardboard to be the base and perhaps get the dry mate whelping liner…[Read more]

Thank you. You both sound sweet. Its funny how Brientje climbs Bas face to get close to you. He knows who his mamma is. Lol.

@bunnytowne: you can resize them in Paint and save them as .jpg It’s how I send photos to customers as well, the quality stays good enough.
Thank you all btw for your kind words in my post about anticipatory grief, it helped me a lot!Tonight I had a very peaceful night with Breintje cuddled up to me in bed, and the only thoughts were: “Awww, I…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Please help: over a month post-neuter and bathroom habits are as bad as ever? in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 5 months ago
It sounds like you need to place litter boxes in the more open area. You can think that a rabbit doesn’t truly understand the somewhat arbitrary rule we’re enforcing that they should only go to the bathroom in a singular spot. Rabbits aren’t actually litter-boxed trained per-say— it’s more that their natural bathroom habits fits the litter-box…[Read more]
