Yes, they are currently being bonded in their permanent living space. We started seeing mutual grooming the 2nd or 3rd day of marathon bonding and they’ve been cuddling ever since. I’m planning to increase their space every 2-3 days to ensure there is no fighting and put the litter box in when I’ve expanded my space to 3 ft x 4 ft because it’s a…[Read more]

Hay, my bun hurt her lip a while back (she was trying to jump onto the bed, but mistimed it), and it healed pretty fast. I monitored her and made sure she was okay with eating and drinking and stuff. It’s good that’s he’s eating, just keep monitoring him. An experienced medical member would have to chime in to tell you what you could treat his lip…[Read more]

Oooh I can picture exactly what you mean with that side nipping thing! I have seen my buns do it in sessions and it’s really frustrating. I interpret it as a dominance thing. Usually one bun nips the other to get them to move out of the way, or in preparation to mount. So it could be Ziggy is grooming because he wants to mount, or he grooms but…[Read more]

Hi friends! This is my first time posting here, so hopefully I do it ok lol! I am in some serious need of bonding advice.
I currently have two males who are neutered and both 3 years old – Ziggy and Dusty – who I have been trying to bond for 3ish months now.
A bit about their living situation: They reside in the same room next to each other but…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Separate after surgery? in the forum BONDING 5 years, 1 month ago
I’ve had to separate buns before for medical treatment, and they have usually gone back together without incident. I also know of some cases where even though all the buns went to the vet and stayed together, they still had issues after the vet. So try not to stress! Sometimes there might be some bonding sessions needed, but they will probably…[Read more]

My dominant girl Willow had to get an abscess removed yesterday. The vet didn’t want Duke, her husbun, to go into surgery with her so I brought him for moral support before the surgery. After the surgery, the vet explained that Willow had an open hole and drain in tube to help her abscess. Because of this, he recommended keeping Willow and Duke s…[Read more]

Hmmm, it might have been too much commotion, especially if he is in pain. I wonder if he needs a higher dose of metacam? The low appetite is concerning. I would keep offering him favorite foods and see if you can entice him to eat, and especially more critical care if he will eat that willingly. Can you give your vet a call to discuss the…[Read more]

I give my buns organic palm plates often, they LOVE them. We give them to all the bunnies at the rescue so I am very confident they are safe. 🙂
By corn flower, do you mean like the wildflower: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centaurea_cyanus or the actual flower from a corn plant? The flower shoes up on a lot of lists of plants safe for r…[Read more]

OOoh that is soooo frustrating that you were treated like that by your vet!! 😡
OK with that out of my system, first I’d like to say thank you for rescuing this bun and giving him a wonderful home! It sounds like he has a great set up!
Dental surgery healing can take time. Their teeth can be sensitive from the filing itself, plus something more…[Read more]

Hi everybody 🐰
Yesterday I noticed one of my bunnies was bleeding from his mouth. I checked him out and it looks like maybe his lip split by his bottom left front tooth. It stopped bleeding right away. He ate dinner last night and even had a fresh picked strawberry. It looked quite a bit better this morning but he doesn’t seem all that in…[Read more]

Someone I know was watching Sincerely, Cinnabun on YouTube and was wondering if goji berries, untreated palm leaf bowls, and corn flowers are safe for rabbits.

I tried to answer your questions below!
Bonding still going ok- no real change. Some days I think they are there and then others I feel it will never happen. this week Louie decided to chase a little. Not sure if it was playful or not- especially as they have had relatively little chasing since beginning this seemed like it was going the wrong…[Read more]

So are you working with them in the same space they will be living in permanently? If so, that makes things a lot easier! And less likely to cause problems with the move. How long have they seemed bonded for?
I think I would make the pen a bit bigger, and have them spend time in the larger space for a bit while you get their permanent home…[Read more]
