How long did you “cement” the bond before moving them to their home cage?

You could also try taking them on a car ride together.

I can’t move them back to a netuarl area. I did go though the bonding process a little quick, but I made sure that things went well before putting them in the same cage. We built a new cage when they were bonded so it was netuarl. There aren’t any health issues thankfully.

It’s great you noticed this change! There can be little chases etc. in some pairs (esp if one is overly food excited), but them becoming more distant is more of a concern. If I recall, you moved through the bonding process pretty quickly, so you may have just moved a bit too fast from neutral territory into non-neutral.

It can be natural for friends to just “mellow out” with each other, but I would keep an eye if you notice more tense interactions. They might have a hiccup in the relationship that needs to be worked out. I also contacted the breeder and she said that sometimes an injury like that can happen because of over grooming by the mother, she said she had never known a bunny cause it to themselves, so I think you are right with it being a previous injury. Am I correct in that damson is a type of plum?

If so, then unfortunately no. The leaves and wood of the drupe group of fruits (stone fruits: peaches, plums, cherries, apricots, almonds) are toxic to rabbits.

Apple, pear, loquat, and citrus leaves and branches are all safe though, if you have any of those around.
