Hi Ella and welcome to the nice bunny world! I’m also a new dad, only 2 weeks in, but from my experience and what I’ve seen on the web I can give you a few advice!
For the litter training, I suggest you to put her hay rack and hay inside the litter box. Since it’s a cat litter I don’t know if you’ll be able to hang a hay bag but that’s th…[Read more]

Hey everyone. I have become very anxious about the health of my 2.5 year old Lionhead, Mickey, since his most recent episode of GI stasis and some other GI issues that have since resolved. I saw a few online rabbit forums discussing aspiration pneumonia in rabbits and now I am terrified. It sounds like pneumonia is essentially not survivable for…[Read more]

You can try an eye flush with sterile eye saline solution to help get it out, though yes, your rabbit may be able to get it naturally herself soon.

Trancing is not induced by petting the ears — trancing is induced by positioning the rabbit on its back where their head is at level or lower than their behind. There are pictures included in the link I sent.

Thank you for informing me I will avoid his ears from now on when petting him! I am very new to owning a rabbit so I had no idea what it was but thank you!

He does exactly this ( I got this from google because I don’t like holding him with one hand)

(This may be a tranced rabbit — please see here for information on why trancing is discouraged: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Trancing) – note added by Wick

It seems like you are trancing your rabbit and therefore activating a natural reflex that is highly discouraged in the pet rabbit community (based on the picture you found and are referencing). Please read here about trancing and why it is discouraged: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Trancing
Please refrain from handling your rabbit like this in the…[Read more]

Thank you all so much for your answers, really touches my hearth and Maui’s!
Some news, I’ve restrained some areas in the living room, he was always hiding behind the couch so I blocked it with NIC grids so he hides in his hidey house instead and learn to trust his environnement.
He was really mad at first and almost destroyed his own to go b…[Read more]
