Just wanted to pop in and say hi! I’m sorry to those that I haven’t kept up with on Insta! Been really busy getting settled from the move, unpacking and decorating…all my time is consumed! I got a new job, too, as a pharmacy technician. I’m pretty excited to be branching away from the mundane, confined to desk all day work that I’ve been…[Read more]
It’s been a really busy weekend trying to get everything moved from the apartment to the new house. On Sunday, I planned to unpack….but instead I decided to tell the stress and anxiety “SCREW YOU” and I decorated the outside of the house for Halloween instead Decorating is such a comfort of mine. Luckily Ophelia and Sven are getting along…[Read more]
Sven definitely needs some time to warm up to me lol. I’m hesistant on what I should do by tomorrow though. I have to go to work and I’ll be gone majority of the day. I don’t know whether I should put one in an xpen in the room or leave them in the room alone? I guess I just don’t really consider them bonded because they only snuggle and groom…[Read more]
A turd in your slipper XD always a riot to read your posts, Ellie! I’m glad he’s ok now! Ophelia had a bit of stasis last week requiring her to stay with the vet all day. I must have forgotten to knock on wood the last time I said she’s never had any issues like that… Azerane, best case scenario there will be TWO additions to the bunny…[Read more]
What a well behaved car bun! So much squee!
LPT, Elara’s paws look so perfectly poised for a pawdicure!
In other news, we closed on our house on Monday, so we are officially *MORTGAGE OWNERS* YAY DEBT! But, it does mean that we now have the opportunity to expand the bunny family These are the two boys that we will be first attempting with…[Read more]
I’m down about 50lbs total since May. When I started, I knew I wanted to lose at least 70..so I’m getting close! Honestly I think I could do a lot better if I could cut out the alcohol XD I’ve been pretty great with food and I workout 5x a week (MOST weeks, some weeks I have to give myself a day off to rest). But those darn post-work, pre-bed…[Read more]
And now I feel bad that I put her in such a stressful situation, where she had to go under anesthesia and everything was it all for naught? Would she have been better off if I just kept up treating for stasis and hoping she would eat…
Thank you, G&J! She’s about 1 1/2 years old, so still a very young bun! The vet rang and said that her X-rays all looked “great” and there’s no indication of a blockage or gas. They are waiting on blood test results, but they expect to have those in by the time I go and pick her up. For whatever reason, they think that she’s just had some…[Read more]
I hope I’m not overreacting. She’s going to get a full blood workup and X-rays. The vet didn’t find any tooth issues when she scoped, but Ophelia is also dehydrated and doesn’t have much “gut sounds”. So. Workup and subcutaneous fluids. Still no answers
Well she’s been on the stasis treatment since Friday pm and it’s now Monday am. She seems to be acting fine, and is still excitable about food, just very, very, very picky. So I really do think it is a tooth issue. Her behavior, to me, is not typical of a stasis bun. We’re going to close on our house right now, and then I’m bringing her to…[Read more]
LBJ- so I didn’t know this, but the University of Florida emergency vet does have exotics vets. I didn’t even realize that the veterinary college had an emergency vet open to the public, but someone at work told me about it. So that’s really good to know, in case we ever do have an emergency! We went to the vet after work yesterday and the vet…[Read more]
I don’t think this is just gas. She perked up yesterday morning and seemed to have gone back to completely normal. The exotics vet “wasn’t in” yesterday, so I couldn’t bring her in. Since she was seemingly acting normal, I was pressured to go into work and I did. I’ve noticed that she’s being very picky with hay, picking out only the “softer”…[Read more]
woohoo! The simethicone seems to have turned things around. I went to the gym and came back and she was still under the bed and hadn’t eaten the pellets. I got some cranberries out for a treat test and she ran from under the bed just as soon as I got to the door with them. Gobbled those up and then ate her pellets, I gave her some lettuce and she…[Read more]
I can understand preference, that part makes total sense. When I got Ophelia, I opted to purchase her from a breeder because I WANTED (preferred) a baby bunny. I now realize how silly that was of me, and I’ve vowed to myself that from now on, my future buns will be rescues. What I just can’t understand is why there is such a struggle of…[Read more]
Muj- as someone who has also suffered with herniated disc issues, I’m worrying about you just reading this. I completely understand the frustration of wanting results and feeling like it is just going all too slow…. but take it from me, if you don’t pace yourself it will only get MUCH worse.
I got sudden onset of severe back pain when I was…[Read more]

I also just wanted to chime in say that less than one week is not sufficient time to start the bonding process. Because of territorial aggression, it is recommended to “pre bond” for at least one month. Pre bonding consists of swapping litter trays and toys (even swapping the buns themselves) into each others enclosures to get them used to the…[Read more]
