Yes, we were definitely “equal opportunity”, even if we did require everyone to pick a team! Or was that LBJ……?

    Teams are only for naming.

Speaking of names…….has anyone done a thread on bun names with “pants”, “bloomers”, etc, lately?

Hi guys! I hope you’re all well

Feel like I’ve been really out of the loop with this forum for a few weeks now!
Garf got neutered yesterday and seems to be recovering really well! Our vets are rabbit specialists which is fab and G has a check up 2 days after (so tomorrow) and then 10 days after to make sure the wound isn’t infected and he’s not losing too much weight etc!

No recent threads about pants, no

I’m glad to hear that Garfy is recovering well from his op, I hope he continues to do so

At the vet Jasiri actually got another injection of antibiotic rather than switching to a pill. The vet said because it had worked, just wore off too early, that a second shot should do the trick. She’s hardly eaten again today, it’s very odd.

OMG, JustHenry! JackRabbit! Hi! It’s been so long!! How are you guys??

Dance is now officially done for the season, which will be a lot less things going on at the moment, before the summer business kicks in haha

I was at a tiny home run pet store the other day, and they had some rescue bunnies and bunnies from local people who couldn’t take care of them anymore, up for adoption. I was SOOOO close to adopting one, but then I decided to just think on it and left. Finnegan is doing well. He still isn’t the friendliest boy, but all in due time. I am also going to Petco to buy some pellets tonight.

One thing that kinda frustrated/offended me, was my friend. So I kinda jokingly mentioned about the rabbits and how Finnegan ‘needed a friend’ and my (human) friend was all like “Low-key judging. Moxie didn’t get a friend *cough* *favorite?* and you guys already have a LOT of animals.”

Ummmmm?? All of our animals are fully vetted and taken care of, loved to pieces and live in a safe and clean enviornment, and we regularly do things like run 5ks and go on hikes etc.? Just because we can support more animals than you, no need to be a snob. And don’t EVER tell me that I don’t love Moxie as much as I love Finn, because Moxie was a single bun. -.-
It just really annoyed me. As a stress relief, I bought a bunch of pet toys.

Moxie, maybe your friend is just a little bit jealous of you because you have so many animals and care for them so well? Of course you didn’t love Moxie less than Finnegan. That’s just absurd.

Moxie – you know your bunnies well to know if they need companions. Moxie seemed well adjusted to you and your room whereas Finn seems still kinda jittery. Sometimes shy rabbits blossom with a bunny friend to give them confidence. Do what’s best for Finn, your friend will get over it.

    Hi everyone,

What have I missed? Back from my two week holiday in California. What a beautiful state. So jealous of you Californian BBers! I saw blue whales, humpbacks, dolphins, bears… Incredible. And now I’m back at work

Good news is all bunnies were fine while we were away, and they did actually seem happy to have us back I think pets are the only thing that makes the end of a holiday bearable.

    Hope everyone is well!

I usually don’t want to come home either, but I’m always happy to see my boys.

Coming home crook holidays would be terrible without pets!

I came down sick a couple of days ago so I’ve just been moping around the house. Too unwell to go to work or do much of anything, but not so unwell to sleep all day so I’m just bored, lol. This morning Jasiri was sprawled across my chest when I woke up. It was really sweet ?

It has just gone midday, and a massive fox has just run through next doors garden, all five bunnies and Latte are out. Thankfully its gone without coming into our garden, but seriously, a fox in the middle of the day? Worried how safe they are out there, those runs are more designed to keep birds and cats off than a fox I would think?

    #1868877

Yikes, that’s super scary GJ! I’d look into some better fences. From what I’ve heard foxes are rapidly adapting to human life. They have also been seen in London, scavenging a rich diet from our leavings.

Scary animals foxes when we have bunnies!

I was getting my driveway done and the builders laid sand and that evening I looked out and there was two adult foxes and a whole litter of baby foxes jumping in the sand!

My bunnies were luckily safe and secure and we live in a housed area here in Scotland. All my outdoor equipment is fox proof but I still try to keep an eye on them and have a camera on them when they are in the garden.

One of my childhood bunnies was snatched on a sunny afternoon in London from the garden, while there were multiple people in the garden. London foxes aren’t scared of anything.

I can’t imagine a city fox would be determined enough to get into a run though GJ, since they’re used to eating easy things – Poor Pip was just free roaming the garden. Still, definitely scary and something to keep a close eye on!

We have six foot fences, I’ve seen a fox clear them with ease a few years ago bunnies are in for the day…

JR, BM: Welcome back! Lots of old BB’ers are returning!  Good luck with the surgery, JR!

LBJ, BunNoob: I would love a turtle too, they’re great! If only they didn’t all have salmonella…  If I ever get one, I will call him/her Haggis, after the wrinkly old witch from Pumpkin Head.  I guess I should stop coming up with names for pets I’ll most likely never have…  BunNoob, love your fish tank! Please post pictures when you have all the fish in there!

Azerane: Sorry to hear about Jasiri’s infection. Poor girl. Lily just got over a UTI a month ago, her first round of antibiotics didn’t do the trick either, the second time around it worked. Hoping Jasiri will have the same result.

Also, nobody try to name Azerane’s new kitten. His name will be Todd, and that’s that.

All this talk about turtles….I’m actually turtle sitting this week. For a little guy named DC. Not usual for us to have a critter without fur here lol. We’re also catsitting his sister Charolette.

Hazel – Never got sick from caring for a turtle. Then again, I didn’t make a habit of licking them. LOL ;p

BM – Aww, cute! What kind of turtle?

@GTL: How is Garfy holding up? Recovering well I hope?

Whew, yesterday was such a tiring day, but I did leave one hell of a first impression. I had the rare opportunity to meet a business expert. My unemployment counsellor arranged that for me, so I had to make the most of it. I’m making plans for starting my own LARP (&Cosplay) atelier. We three had a conversation yesterday, so she started out with: “So, what would you like to talk about today?”. I opened my bag, gave them both a copy of my business plan, and took out my tablet with a powerpoint presentation for my portfolio. A moment of silence passed with two pairs of eyes going *blink, blink*… Then my counsellor burst out laughing: “Yup, that’s how I know her! Always prepared and way ahead.”

We didn’t have much time, so we went through some basics and I got to show the slides with my best costumes. They were totally blown away by the detailing of the costumes. It turned out that the business expert lady is a huge fan of old-fashioned looking bags. She kept looking at the brown canvas backpack which I made for Bas. It has decorative blanket stitching all around the edges, and she could really see herself using one as a bicycle bag. She said that my products are real must-have items, even if you only put them on display in your house. That was super great to hear, and I hope the customers will think the same ^_^

The next appointment is in July. They agree with me that I should wait with the actual start until Bas and I move in together next year. With our budget we’ll be able to rent a bigger house with an extra room for an atelier. I can’t invite customers here in my tiny messy apartment, and with my health I’m going to need an at-home atelier. But hey, that means more prep time, and there’s lenty to do if you want to start your own business ^_^
