Looks like it is time to shift over from the May thread! Welcome to JUNE, oh my, how this year is flying! My last post from the last thread:

Wheee, ran a half-marathon this morning! I was shooting for under 2 hours, and I did it in 1:56. So that was very awesome. Now hanging out with the bunnies and wishing Fíli wasn’t such a chewer. Sigh.

Wow Nora, I could never imagine running any kind of marathon.

Oh my gosh, June already. It feels like it was just April too. Where the heck did May go?

I can’t say June is off to a very good start. My husband asked me to clean off this snake tool for cleaning out a drain. I took it outside to hose it off. Then I managed to take a chunk out of my thumb when trying to push the spring part through the tube part. And I literally mean a chunk. I have a crater in my thumb. It wouldn’t stop bleeding either, I had to put pressure on it and hold an ice cube there so the cold would constrict the blood vessels. =\

LBJ, I’m sorry about your thumb =(

May just disappeared here, we had like 6 hours of nice spring weather in total. But the buns get lots of fresh spring greens at least. Other than that, May this year was like a lost month.
      Nora, I’m in awe. Wow!

I know the feeling that may went by way too fast. I broke a tooth at the tail end of may and am having it extracted this Wednesday so I’ve been sleeping in the bunny’s room so to not disturb my fiancee with my poor habit of getting up to go take a Excedrin or something to kill the pain.

Laurana, however is loving this since it means she gets to get out of the x-pen overnight and explore or snuggle up with me. She’s also learned that circling me and my fiancee is a fun past time, even if neither of us have anything in our hand. I call it the love circles since she is spayed, but showing her affection like the couch diving she’s been doing lately whenever either of us sits down on it.

I have been dreading tomorrow and June for weeks/months now. Tomorrow we have to take Blair to the heart specialist (what are they called again?) to check if the hole in his heart is still ok (all Down’s are born with heart issue’s) or if surgery is needed to close it? I always thought (and still do) that Blair is fit and healthy and I never worried once – I must be cause I even dreamt about it the night before last – that we were late for the appointment that we had to wait (no health cover – public!) months to get. Then we are going to the bridal hire shop to organise his suit for Den’s wedding and I just realised he will need ‘black’ shoes (can he wear white sneaker’s??? Lol!) and I know we can’t buy any formal shoes to fit his feet (they are short and wide) so am thinking we can buy him black sneaker’s – but at over $200… and I hate black sneaker’s, but if we have to – guess what Blair will be wearing to his day centre – *SIGH*! (YUCK!)

I have heaps more to whinge about for the month of June, hahaha – so I’ll save you from it and say no more. Can we just skip to July??? I won’t tell anyone, hehehe……

Nora congrats on running your marathon in good time!

LBJ I hope your thumb is doing better today. I would hate to have that happen to me. I am cringing thinking about your poor thumb.

So Fuffy Bunny I also hate to hear you broke a tooth and had to have it taken out. I did that last year and thank goodness I just needed a crown. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

I too cant believe its June already. This year has flown by so fast. Its one of the fastest years I have ever experienced. Finally we are getting some sun and it sounds like we are going to have a few days in a row of no rain. I am going to have to go out and pick weeds out of planting beds and cut bushes. The bunnies are definitely benefitting from dandelions in my planting beds. Kilala loves the flowers.

Sitting in the waiting room at the hospital & the hubby is letting me use his phone to post, how cool is that! But I am struggling to type, it’s taking me ages to find everything and I’m not good at using my finger, hahaha! And I was right, I didn’t sleep well last night thinking/worried about today and I’m so tired, especially just sitting here waiting. Just got called!!!

Thanks, everyone! It felt really great. Already looking forward to my next race–think I might do a 4th of July 10k next month.

I too am amazed that it is June already. I am getting close to the one year mark at this job, which means I am getting to the point where it isn’t crazy to leave. Not planning at the moment, as I am in a certificate program right now that I won’t finish until next summer, but it is nice to know I’ve made it this far.

Fingers crossed for good news for you and Blair, AH!

Wow half way through 2015. Crazy. I thought my binkybunny emails were going to my junk folder again since I hadn’t received one all day then I remembered new chat thread lol.
LBJ I hope your finger heals fast, that made me cringe thinking about it!
Nora I wish I could run any type of marathon. Good job!
Andi I hope Blairs appt went well. I’ll be waiting for the update!

AH – I remember you bringing this up about Blair in our conversations. I’m sure everything will be just fine. =)

I just can’t grasp anything between my thumb and finger on that hand. Good thing it was my left hand (I’m right handed). I had to put a glove over my hand just a bit ago to take care of the dog’s poop problem. Yep, I don’t think dog poop on my thumb would be a good idea. I will be in the creek tomorrow for work. That should be interesting since there’s poop in the creek too. LOL

Andi–let us know how Blair’s appointment went! Thinking about you guys!!

Nora–a half marathon! That is incredible! I’m trying to hype myself up for my 15k this weekend but I don’t think I’ll be able to run the whole thing. Is a Half-Marathon 13.1? Also, your buns in the sink is too freaking cute! How did they react? Could this be the method that works?

Wrap your thumb up good for work LBJ!!!

Not sure if anyone saw my last post in May, but I got this 1.5 gallon shop vac for bunny poops and hay. AMAZING. Best purchase ever!!!

AndHenry, i hope its decided that surgery isn’t needed for Blair, always a scary thing, how old is he? My brother had to have a very similar surgery,(he had two holes in his heart and his aorta was too narrow) he was actually one of the first in Aus to have it done, and is now 35years post op and you would never know. Good vibes for Blair.

I hope Blair’s appointment goes well!

I didn’t know that my phone gets emergency alerts, and it scared the bejesus out of me with a flash flood warning. First rain we’ve had in over a week, and it floods. At least I don’t have to water my garden today.
Speaking of the garden… I’ve had visiting bunny friends lately. Babies, based on their size. I had one sit in my onions pretending like I couldn’t see him for like half an hour the other day while I watered every other plant in the garden. I’m afraid to weedwack around our beds, even though it desperately needs it for fear of hurting them.

I hope Blair’s appointment went well! Surgery is such a big thing to have to think about.

I’m not ready for June! I only have two weeks to do all the things that need doing before I go to Disney. I’ll be so excited when I get there, but this pre-vacation planning and stress is terrible. It’s also costly. Sheesh. I guess that’s what happens when you put off clothes shopping for years but don’t want to look frumpy for vacation. lol

I did find a great deal on jeans; $7.90 for jeans with an amazing fit that makes my butt look good at Forever 21.

THANK YOU to everyone for wishing Blair well – if only he knew??? LOL! Blair just enjoys the attention being centred on him and loved having his height & weight checked along with sticky things stuck on his hairy chest (that the nurse was worried wouldn’t stick and may have to shave him, lol!) to get a heart reading (???). You’ll have to excuse my ignorance, everything that was said and done went over my head (BAD mother! Lol!) and am finding the process a little bewildering…. the GP (who decided he would like it investigated) had to make the appointment with the specialist at the local hospital (which was yesterday) to be told he wants Blair to go to another hospital to go in the big machine for a better look at his heart. MY concern??? He has to stay perfectly still for up to half an hour – NO chance! For someone who can’t talk, he NEVER shuts up! And he can’t keep still, especially in new surroundings for fear of missing out or not being part of something, hahaha! If they can for this procedure, I reckon they will have to sedate him? So now I am back to waiting for another letter to arrive for his next appointment – *sigh*! I think this is going to be a long process before we get any answer’s???
And again the same questions were asked – ‘is he out of breath, does he tire easily, is he active, has he ever passed out’??? No, no, yes and no! The Specialist was even surprised when I said Blair has never really been unwell, not even having a cold for years. But as my hubby said, the concern may not be for now but as he gets older AND better to deal with anything now while he is young, fit and healthy….. TRUE! I swear I am NOT overly concerned, maybe it’s the unknown about the process and procedures that are playing on mind? Cause I am really worried about HOW we are going to keep him still in that machine to get an accurate result. And the thought of going to the other hospital (which isn’t far away) and parking and finding our way around without being late is daunting to me – stupid the stuff we (I) worry about, lol!

Steph…. are you an Aussie??? Thank you so much for your post – how awesome AND reassuring! And this is the other reason why I don’t believe I am too concerned (YET! Lol!) as we do have good medical here “IF” you can get through the waiting list, hahaha! BTW, Blair is 25 this August and has the energy and excitement of life like a 12yo, hehehehe……
I too am on a waiting list to have my girly bits checked out – I’m category 2 and have been told I’ll have to wait up to 2 years. Bloody ‘public’ hospital’s!

Sorry for not posting yesterday when we got home – I was wrecked! But boy did I sleep well last night. I think I had 3 nights of missed sleep to catch up on, hahaha! OH! And we organised Blair’s suit – I will do another post so I can include his photo (I gotta keep my post number’s up before Moxie overtakes me, LOL!). Give me a minute, I have to put the photo on the computer first…..

I know – it’s an awful photo (sorry Blair!) but I wanted you guys to see how cool is he going to look . The guy bought out all these ‘boring’ looking ties and I said ‘do you have anything brighter’??? Lol! I love the ‘pop’ of orange! AND remember I said I didn’t want to buy Blair a suit cause the alterations would cost a fortune, haha! The hire suit guy had to take up the sleeve’s on the shirt, jacket and pant leg’s about a half a foot, ha ha ha ha! And guess what??? He had nice black dress shoes (it may have taken him 1/2 an hour to find them, hehe!) that fitted his foot – YAY! One less thing to worry about, lol! AND the ‘best part’??? everything for $110!  Bargain!

PS – I know Blair’s hair and face look dreadful in the photo, but the hubby gave him a shave after his bath last night and we are waiting till the week of the wedding for Den to come over and give him a haircut, so his hair will look spot on for the wedding.

AH — Morgan had to have an MRI when he was 2 or 3 and they loaded him up with benadryl to knock him out. Luckily they got through it quickly because he was like strong jelly when it was over — we had to pretty much tie him into the stroller with a bed sheet because we were afraid he’d hurt himself! Anyway, I’m sure they can sedate Blair. Just make sure the hubby’s with you in case Blair’s wobbly afterward.

OMG! Blair looks really nice in that suit, and I love the bright tie! You did great! So when do we get to see your dress ?!

Oh gosh, I never thought of that (if Blair is wobbly after), I’d need a crane to support him – he’s a heavy boy! I have never and wouldn’t ever call Blair overweight, but he is solid! His leg are two of mine together and solid with no wobbly bits (UNlike mine) LOL! One thing Blair has got over us, if he doesn’t want to move, there is NO moving him! He is solid and strong and can hold his own (why his brother and sister never beat him up as a kid, haha!). And yes, Blair does look smart in his suit – I’m thrilled! But again, he has no idea why he was trying on a suit – though he does know it involves Denny. I don’t think he understands what a wedding is – we haven’t been to one in years (and years and years), what a nice surprise it will be for him, hahaha – though he will only care about the PARTY afterwards, LOL!

My outfit? It’s boring – SORRY! A black pant suit (cause it’s in the middle of bloody WINTER – good grief!) with a black and white top. Who gets married in Winter??? So I didn’t have much fun with my outfit….. I went for warmth over fashion! Ha ha! You all know how I hate the cold! *SIGH*!

Thanks Justina! Now you know what Blair looks like when you pick him up from the airport….. hehehe! In case no one knows, Justina is having Blair for the day – YAY! That gives me 3 days off – 24 hours to get there, a day with Justina and another day to get home! Perfect (for ME!) and Blair will LOVE it! Hehehe….

Edit to ADD – If fights to America weren’t $2000+, you know I ‘would’ send him!  Lol!

And look at the poor guy taking up the length on Blair’s suit – I can imagine what he is thinking??? “WTF! I’ll pay you to go to another suit hire place”, hahaha! Jokes – he was FANTASTIC! He couldn’t do enough to make sure Blair looks great, and to find those shoes…. WOW! Top guy!

Aww, Blair looks great. Love the tie, it’s perfect! You’ll have to keep us updated on his visit, etc.

Okay, so the problem with my thesis was my worst nightmare coming true last night. I picked up the surveys that have been returned so far and I was going to match the numbers up with my list (I used identifiers so I could distinguish two populations AND so I could mail out reminders to people who had not returned their surveys). Anyway, these are supposed to be anonymous but someone put their own personalized return label on the envelope I got back. I looked at the number on the survey and glanced at the name on my list… they… didn’t… match… up. o_O I dug through the pile and found another one with a personalized return label on it. That one didn’t match up either! I was panicked last night, but couldn’t talk to anyone at my school until today. At first they said they used my identifiers. I said that couldn’t be. So they did some digging and it turns out they didn’t use my identifiers because they wanted to print stuff in batches by zip code for postage reasons. Someone had a spreadsheet showing the person’s name, my identifier, and the identifier they used. Whew!!! What a relief. I have to cross reference stuff, but at least I know who is who. If I wouldn’t have caught that, my data would have been messed up so bad. The strange thing is that I said to them that I assumed they had used my identifiers since I never received a list from them. The person responded saying that they didn’t think to send me the list. Um, what? Why wouldn’t you send me the list?

Aw, Blair looks great! And orange is my favorite color, so definitely thumbs up on the tie.

LBJ, your whole thesis sounds stressful! I don’t blame you for being so worried about it. Sounds like the school is not treating it very seriously–I will keep my fingers crossed that everything works out and the data is good!

I promise I will LBJ – but lets hope it happens after June (is anyone else interested in skipping June and going straight to July??? Lol!). I just had a dreadful thought…. the doctor did say we may only have to wait 3 weeks, and Den’s wedding is on a Thursday (I KNOW!!! Good grief!) and I hope it doesn’t fall on that day??? GOSH! No wonder I am not sleeping and am overwhelmed, LOL!

What a great idea JR – I could get a nice orange flower for us all to wear, but our plan is that Blair will ditch us at the reception to hang out with the cool guys (Den’s friend’s) and we shouldn’t see him till we have to leave, hahaha! One good thing about Blair, if someone ignores him or isn’t overly nice he doesn’t notice and will insist on hanging out, Blair’s only concern is that HE is having a good time! Lol! But Den’s good friends know about Blair and have always embraced him. I think what bother’s people is that they can’t understand him and that makes them feel uncomfortable – they don’t know how to react, what to say or do. I remember my daughter’s fiancé listening patiently to Blair talking once and I cut in (told you I was a BAD mum!) for him to say “excuse me! Blair is talking to me!” – how funny (awesome) is that!!! And no – he had no idea what Blair was saying…. just that he had a LOT to say (LOL!) and he was showing Blair the respect that he deserved! Soooo…… NO flower JR! Hahaha…..

Oh gosh LBJ – I don’t know how you do it??? But you have inspired me to fill out surveys again. I remember when I was working for a Member of Parliament and when someone new moved into the electorate we sent out a welcome letter along with a survey and was always surprised they sent the survey back – I wouldn’t! The only time I fill out a survey is to acknowledge brilliant service! To encourage more of the same. I gave up on complaining…. no one cares!
How’s your cut??? OUCH! Made my eye’s water…..

Awww Nora! So we have twin bunny’s (sorry Pippin! haha!) and we both love orange!!! Orange is my ‘favourite’ colour toooo! You don’t want to know the thing’s I have done with the colour Orange – from painted walls, accessories and clothes! Love love love Orange!!! And congrats on your run – well done! Though you made me feel more lazy, haha! I had a wrestle with the hubby over something and we both had to stop to catch our breath, LOL! I never thought of myself as unfit till then…. *SIGH*! Good thing I still have the energy to laugh about it though…. DOH!

WOW MissG! We just had Forever21 open (or is it going to open soon??? It’s been on the news of all places – good advertising!) in Brissy. I hope my kid’s get the same bargain’s that you got, they will love the new store. Even though I like to look stylish when I go out, it’s too young and hip for me now. Where were they 15 years ago when I struggled to buy nice stuff cheaply??? And I totally get and agree… your butt had to look good in jeans! Even at 47 I still check my butt out in jeans, hahaha….

AndHenry, I live in Melbourne and work as a nurse, sounds like they want Blair in for either a CT or an MRI, just let your GP know he probably wont stay still for it and they will most likely sedate him but it sounds like Blair’s heart isn’t giving him much trouble now so best of luck! the waiting sucks! you are in QLD right? I don’t know any hospitals there unfortunately but from what iv seen people with downs often recover really well, even from big surgeries. (they often don’t realize they are meant to be sick and are able to listen to their bodies better, without having unrealistic expectations) Please keep us updated, lots of good vibes for you and your family.

Oh and Lis we have the same emergency alerts here too, but you have to sign up to get them. I never have – my hubby is a bit of a weather stalker and ‘luckily’ we have never suffered any severe weather events where I live (as long as I keep unblocking the drain – DOH!).
What does annoy me…. we either get to much rain at once or no rain at all! My poor garden! So I know how you feel…. sad face!

Your going to Disney Miss G???  How exciting!!!  Yes! You must get NEW clothes!!! Your not going to believe this…. my Uncle that I am not fussed on (LBJ knows) has just gone over to America and is going to Disneyland – I asked him to bring back Mickey Mouse ears for him, that’s all Blair wants (besides actually GOING!). Thanks for your reply Steph – how awesome! Another Aussie – woohoo! Hehehe…. Yes, I am a Queenslander. The only one on BB (naughty me for owning Henry) and live in Bris Vegas. Without sharing accurate details in case a Government official is stalking BB to find an illegally owned bunny (which I have been assured my details on BB will NOT be handed over), Blair is being referred to the Prince Charles Hospital, and have heard nothing but praise about them. I am confident they will do what needs to be done to ensure an accurate reading once he has the CT scan (I don’t recall the word MRI mentioned?). He didn’t say we had to go back and see our GP – do I need too??? Honestly, we don’t go to the doctor’s cause we haven’t been unwell. Can we just turn up and say Blair may need to be sedated or do we need to give them notice? And you wonder why I am overwhelmed, hahaha – I am so worried we are going to do it wrong and waste everyone’s valuable time. And sometimes I hate that Blair is stigmatised – but I hate when I turn up and they are surprised that he is Down’s and that he can’t talk for himself he has to accompanied and directed with actions. For example… the doctor asked for him to breath deeply in and out – I had to firmly tell Blair to be quiet (LOL!) and I had to breath deeply in and out myself for him to copy me.
AND I hate to admit this Steph, but it’s true! If I panic – Blair panic’s! If I stay calm, Blair has no idea that something is wrong. So I totally get and agree with your comment ‘that they heal better with no influence or understanding that all isn’t well’. Blair can scrape his knee and a kiss can make it all better – if I don’t freak out, he doesn’t! He looks to me for guidance on how he should react???
As I have said before (even to the Specialist yesterday)… Blair is healthy and active and till the GP/doctor suggested his heart should be looked at I would have never given it a second thought – I knew he had the hole in his heart from birth, but because he showed no signs of distress or symptom’s, I never gave it a second thought…..

THANK YOU again Steph! And welcome to BB! (especially the chat thread) He he he he he……..

Your (adorable) little sister is going to LOVE it MissG!!! Make sure you post pic’s when you get back – actually, hehehehe…. get a family photo of you ALL wearing Mickey EAR’s so I can print it and put in a photo frame in Blair’s room – so he can say he knows your family and you went to Disneyland! Lol!

      True! I’d do that! LOL!

AH, id call the radiographers and give them a heads up, while us health professionals should be ready for everyone who comes through the door, regardless of their health needs, reality is that a heads up is nice, particularly if the scan will have to take a little longer than average. Also, Henry is lucky to have you as a co-conspirator, he is so cute!

I can’t wait till Blair is all dressed up and looking his best bam – I don’t expect anyone to know this, but he wears sunglasses and carries and iPod thinking/believing it’s an iPhone, hahaha! Anything to look cool, hahaha…. When he was trying on and being fitted for his suit, he got undressed in the shop NOT the dressing room, hahaha! and handed his sunglasses, phone and wallet along with his clothes to the hubby – so funny if you were there.
Good thing it was a quiet Tuesday with no one else in the shop and not a busy Saturday…..

      LOL!

As soon as I get the letter for his appointment Steph I will call and let them know my concerns and why – thank you, thank you and thank you Steph! OMG guys, can you believe how lucky I am to meet Steph here – if it wasn’t for BB….
I doubt that Mr and Mrs BB reads the chat thread but if anyone wants to let them know – I not only care for my bunny (spoiled BRAT!) to the highest standards thanks to this site, I have also been offered the most wonderful advice in relation to my son’s upcoming tests that I would never have been offered if it wasn’t for us coming across each other on BB – WOW!

Kiss’s and hug’s to you both Mr & Mrs BB! (and don’t blush or be shy…. you both deserve it!) BIG happy smile face!

Hehe, not a problem AndHenry, My mum used to take my brother to the Royal Childrens to visit kids about to go through a similar procedure and their parents, sometimes just knowing that you aren’t alone and it does get better makes a lot of difference. Best of luck with it all, please do keep us updated!

Geesh even I’m learning something about Aussie health care! Oh and Andi if flights are that much, might as well send him for a week. He can help in the veggie garden AND plant flowers. We will both listen to our ipods and wear sunglasses and be the coolest people in Minnesota.

Having free roam bunnies is the greatest thing ever. Last night we went to bed; they followed and flopped out in our room by the doorway. I saw Rocky get up to reposition himself at a better angle to be able to lay down and lick Pumpkin’s face at the same time. Pumpkin was sound asleep; eyes completely closed. It was so cute!! We would have never seen that had they been locked up in the living room.

I don’t think I’ll ever talk hubby into a ramp to the bed though! lol

Nora, that’s a great time for a half marathon! Well done

AH, Blair is very cool. He looks great with the suit and bright orange tie I hope the tests show he’s in top health.

LBJ, they really are not taking your thesis that seriously on campus. I’m glad you found the error and could fix it. If you ever wanna commiserate about thesis I completely understand. Mine is taking soooo long… and I had so many issues with my masters. I had to change projects 5 months before handing it in because the original project just did not work :X

LLH, if PumpRock are anything like Chester they’ll find a way to the bed even without a ramp I just got bunny cuddles this morning. So cute!

These next months are going to though for me! I wanna write as much of my thesis as possible, since I wanna finish in the fall and I’m only working one part time during summer; I’m packing up my apartment and moving in with one of my best friends; I’m still in the process of subletting my place; I need to finish my teaching certificate; I want to pitch my course to the curriculum committee at my university to start in the winter; and my boyfriend will be away for more than a month (boo).

Maybe I just get to work

LOL Jo and LLH…. Henry ‘jumps’ up on our bed every day/night – no ramp required! Ha ha ha….. Henry is so bad that some nights I pretend that I’m asleep so I don’t have to pat him in bed, hehehe….. How stupid is that? Pretending your asleep to a bunny??? Lol!
And for the longest time and even now – in the EARLY morning I can feel him climbing on me. My first thought waking up…. it’s one of the dog’s, but then I remember (while still asleep) that it is not that heavy and it is Henry and stop myself from shrugging him off.

      *SIGH*! Ha ha ha ha…..

Really Moxie??? I used to tell people that Orange (and deep dark Purple) was/is my favourite colour and every one frowned at me – why I never thought to share it. Even though I love purple, I am getting over it – but I still have strong love for Orange! And I now have an appreciation for Aqua, that bright greeny blue colour. But if someone just hit me up and asked what’s my favourite colour? The answer is ORANGE! My eye just goes straight to it. Your sooo cool Nora to also admit you love Orange.

Go Orange!!! Trust my bunny daughter to take after her bunny mum and love Orange….. so proud Moxie!

AH— When I was picking out my bedroom color EVERYBODY tried to talk me out of it. I am going for a black and white theme with the orange. I have a black and white blanket set, and printed out a bunch of photos (all in black and white) that I am planning on hanging in black frames. I have white blinds and am thinking about going for black sheers? (I can’t find any though) because there is a lot of white in my room still.

I’d go the white shears – then accessorise (sorry if I spelled that wrong – it is 2 am, lol!). If you can’t buy Orange stuff (it’s a hard colour to buy) – buy a can of paint and paint away! That’s what I do…. hehehe.

OK! Going to bed – Ni night everyone……

PS – Orange sheets! To go with your B&W blanket set – perfect!
OH! And paint stuff like wooden candle holders or buy Orange candles (if you can – again, it’s hard to buy Orange). Ok, I’m going! But I want to help Moxie with her room…. he he he he he!

I’ll have to post pics, but I still think the black sheers because my windows are old and BIG windows that go pretty much floor to ceiling, and I have several of those windows in my room so there’s a lot of white with the wall frame/door frames(edges?) that are white, windows, ceiling, dresser, and the stuff on the blankets ect. Oh, I also might be having a white mirror going up. And all I have for black is the black on my blankets/pillows and the soon to be pictures. So I still feel the need to balance it out. Good night, sleep tight, and don’t let Henry bite! (Oh and have you been getting any of my PM’s? I just thought I’d ask because I have been having some troubles with mine and you haven’t replied. [at least it hasn’t showed up on my end])

Aww thanks guys. Yep, the crisis is over. At least this one anyway. I’m sitting here cross referencing everything so I can start marking addresses off my list.

BubblesJo – It’s a large university and, yeah, they don’t care. If I was able to do these things myself, I don’t think I would be wanting to tear my hair out so much. When you have to rely on others though, you’re kind of stuck with what you get. All the printing and business mail has to go through the university’s mailing services office. *sigh* Sorry to hear you’re having issues too. I think graduate school is one of the worst things anyone can do. LOL At least it feels that way sometimes with all of the headaches it has caused me (and that’s an understatement… perhaps it should be ulcers or something).

Moxie – I can kind of see your room in your signature. I think it’s pretty. I did purple once when I was in middle school. Purple on the walls and white furniture/white bedding.

Our bed is so high that I have issues getting into it and I’m 5’8″. Seriously I think it’s at least 3 or 4 feet up so these guys can’t get up there without a ramp. But I’m not sure I’d want them too. I’d toss and turn worrying I’m going to smoosh them.

LLH I found my tiny Kilala on the bed one day and it became her favorite place. I couldn’t believe she could jump that high it had to be at least 3 feet. So one day don’t be surprised if you find one of your rabbits up there. She is a jumper. My other rabbit isn’t. I ended up putting a hoppers hide away against the foot board and encouraged her to climb up that I was scared she was going to fall and hurt herself.

Speaking of Miss Kilala she is my wall chewer. Today I am going to have to rabbit proof the rest of their room with nic grids. Its going to cost so much money to replair all the damage my two have done to their room. My husband is so mad. I am a bit frustraited myself at the newest wall chewed area. I have been spending a lot of time with them lately and they have tons of things to chew on and play with. I just don’t understand why she is chewing the walls. LLH you are so lucky to have free range bunnies.

LBJ I am so sorry to hear of your on going issue with your thesis. I bet you cant wait till its over with once and for all.

Moxie your room decorating project sounds fun.

I don’t have time to get caught up on everything I need to get going and tend to my trouble making rabbits.

My brother is currently building the chicken coop. He’s getting the frame done. Right now it looks like we are building several rafts. We have the floor “skeleton” and some of the wall “skeletons” done. (okay my brother has some of them done). The plywood still needs to be put on, windows put in, roof door ect. And then we’ll need to work on mixing the “big” chicks with the “little” chicks. We will probably have to rehome one of the little chicks because it is pretty much evil lol. (Okay I know they can’t really be evil.)
But it’s a hen and from the day it got here (at only about 2 days old) if you picked up one of the other chicks it would grab the leg of that chick and crocodile roll and try to take it’s leg off. (We’ve marked her head green so we know it’s that same chick) Now she’s been plucking the feathers and attacking the other chicks. That is the only chick that doesn’t have feathers missing from it’s back. We’ve tried everything and even bought some chicken lotion stuff that tastes bad so they won’t go after each other. And in the chicken world, if they see an injured one they’ll all go after that one. So if that little bag chick plucks out feathers of another chick and it starts to bleed they’ll all go after it. It is slightly aggrivating. But I looked online and found that other people have trouble with that breed. So erhg lol.
The big chicks are doing good though. Now they expect treats everytime I go in there now. They are getting all their feathers so I’ll have to take some pics soon.

My best friend’s dad is giving us their truck, It needs some work but it’ll be good for us. They are nice people. Also my friend’s birthday is next month and I am not sure what to buy her. I’ll probably just do something safe/simple like makeup or jewelry. I can’t believe it is already summer. I need to go buy a new bathing suit. I’m tired.

OH and the puppies are doing good. Although one of them, whenever she gets worked up at all she gets the hiccups. Does anybody know what that means? Should I be worried? Is another vet trip in order?

Okay I’m going to go and stop rambling on.

LBJ, terribly sorry to hear about your thesis. If it’s any consolation, this is not a good month for any of us graduate students. Yesterday my laptop with all of my bar notes on it decided to go ahead and fry its logic board . Genius Bar at apple said 5 days before I can get it back and theres a good chance I won’t be getting my data back. Even worse is that I haven’t backed up my data in over 2 weeks . Oh well life must go on, but I wish you the best with your thesis and that you get it all finished before you know it. Quick question, are you running a regression analysis with the data? If so what program do you use? Is R still a viable program?

AH- LOVE the suit. The tie is awesome haha, I always love wearing the really loud colors as well.

Yeah it’s pretty cute. He makes a lot of different gasping/snorting/panting noises when he’s playing. Sometimes it gets creepy, when we turn to leave the room he will suddenly chase after us, making this freaky panting noise. When you hear it you know he’s coming for you! It’s kind of like being in a horror movie…

I normally just give it space because it does nip, and I don’t know how Moxie would react to the smell of a ferret because she’s never smelled one before and they are predators. But they are really cute so I probably will have to play with him some time.

Your not going to believe this??? When you said that you PMed me Moxie, I had a look and I feel awful!!! I have 3 PM’s and one that has been sitting there unseen or noticed for weeks! The orange pop up box alerting me to NEW PM’s isn’t popping up??? I will go back and reply when I have posted this – but I am SO sorry! Please don’t ‘anyone’ ever think I am ignoring you – I honestly had no idea they were sitting there and it never occurred to me to check without the orange pop box alerting me to a new PM. I am back to thinking it’s ‘my’ computer that is the problem… I can’t see video’s on fb either. *SIGH*! I just realized how lazy I am getting…. I rely on the computer to tell and show me everything! Ha ha ha ha….. and when it doesn’t I feel utterly frustrated! Just when I thought it was the hubby, kid’s and that DAM bunny causing me grief, it turns out the computer is toooo!

Oh Hazel – your gonna love this!!! I’m sure I mentioned Johnny Depp is in QLD filming the new Pirate’s movie??? Anyhow, filming in the Black Pearl took them off location to the Bay (my area) and for the last 3 days he stopped for a couple of hours to greet and mix with fans and stayed in character along with his costume and was gracious and hilarious! When asked what did he think about his fan’s? he replied “I don’t have any fans…. this is my family”, hahaha! And one girl said “It’s not Johnny Depp I am in love with – I’m in love with Jack Sparrow!” LOL! Sooo…. I have competition??? Mmmm….. Lol! Honestly, how cool is that? And how cool is he? Especially after we kicked his dog’s out of the Country – he even made a joke about that – good on him! No, I didn’t bother going to try and see him in person – those days of stalking out pirates are long gone for me, LOL!

I just gotta make the hubby his lunch and I’ll be back….

AH I saw some pictures of what you were talking about with Johnny dressed up like Jack Sparrow with his fans. I thought about you. Oh and your son looks great in his suit!

Hazel I love the sounds that ferrets make. The panting type sound is usually done when they are doing their little happy dance. I also use to call some of the other noises they make bock bock chicken sounds. It reminded me of chickens. When you get a couple of ferrets together playing you hear all kinds of interesting sounds. When he is making that noise and coming towards you he is saying ” Come play with me!” Have you ever made tunnels out of pvc piping for Bubbles to play in? We had bought some and got the connecting pieces and made all kinds of tunnels for the ferrets to play in. Then when they were not playing I would take it apart and put it away. I always changed it up for them.

Lis – I actually haven’t done any exams yet. I don’t know how I will be able to schedule them. They will make you standby waiting for hours for a question and then when you get it you have to write for 8 hours to answer it. o_O I hope you don’t have to do yours like that.

Sindriona – Yes and no. I mean, part of me doesn’t want to let go. At the same time, I want to scream pretty much everyday.
Speaking of wall chewing, Leopold is relentless. If you find a good solution, let me know.

Law Bun – Oh no! I have had that happen right in the middle of writing a paper, so I know how you feel. I hope you can get your data back.
We haven’t decided exactly how we want to analyze things, but yes. They still teach R at my university, but I took a class that used Stata. I’m not sure what we will end up using. I guess it depends on what I will have access to since I can’t access a lot of things at the university (I’m no longer registered in classes and my full-time status for thesis work has expired). I would think that R would be alright for most things.

Moxie – Wow, sounds exciting. I bet the chickies will love their new home once it’s done. Perhaps the aggressive one needs to be an only chicken???

Sorry Moxie – I am still here, I have been all afternoon/evening – but I have struggled to post or do anything since I heard about CT’s Pete. Except cry! Is that silly? To cry over a bunny and for a friend you never met? But I did! I even cried in front of my hubby – I never cry in front of my hubby!

I spose when I said you guys were my friends I really meant it – I am happy when you share good news, get frustrated and angry when you do, and cry when you are enduring sadness. And I know my feelings are real – my reaction is not a choice, but an emotion I can’t control.

This is how silly I am…. an ad for ‘True Detective’ came up and I thought that looks cool and hit record for the series. I was falling asleep and all of a sudden I remembered bam saying that she watched it and how great it was. Knowing I may forget and it would stay on mind causing me not to sleep well I got up and wrote it down – it’s on a piece of paper right next to me as I post this cause I couldn’t wait to tell her. I know… how silly that I may not sleep well cause I was worried that I would forget to share something with a friend on BB. And I get excited…. when something wonderful happens I can’t wait to share it with you all.

I’m pretty sure I am sane, but I am starting to wonder, hahaha! Is this ok/normal?

I promise Moxie, now that I know your PM’s are there – I will reply (if you still want me too??? Lol!). I promise I am a wonderful person, if anything I am just a bit passionate – which I hate sometimes. I don’t chose to be, I just am.

PS – Jack Sparrow comes to town and what do I do??? Brag on BB! Hahaha…… And I have new favourite song and I can’t wait to tell Moxie for her to listen to it and when she tells me the same – I go straight to youtube to see and listen to it!

I’m pretty sure this is called genuine friendship!

LBJ – You have comps and a thesis? Oh lord. Our comps are 100 question multiple choice, but I’m exempt from that because I accidentally took the exit exam that was meant for people currently in my field who aren’t getting the Masters (an oops, but one in my favor). Then, they send us 4 essay questions ahead of time. We’re supposed to cite our sources ahead of time, then we go in and get two of them, and an hour to answer each. So I guess it’s not that bad, but I’m still worried.
I have my four questions and they are TOUGH. The hardest one is the question on Autism, so I’m hoping I don’t get that one on the day of the exam.

I found out how Ciri lost her missing tooth. Her previous owner saw my update post on the shelter page and added me as a friend to see how she’s doing. Turns out that she was running about and ran into a bar and lost it.

Honeslty, if it’s been released here in Oz, I bet I know it – unless it’s one of those ‘doof doof’ song’s – I can’t stand those, lol! I even like those rap songs with someone singing. What do they call that? For example, Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson Feat. Bruno Mars. Have you heard that yet? If not, watch the video/film clip – the dancing is amazing!

Yes I have heard of that song! And I agree, Sam Smith is amazing. I’m really sad that his label decided to pull the song “In the lonely hour” (that’s also the name of the album) I loved that song but you can’t find the original anywhere. You get the idea of what it sounds like on youtube, but all of those lyrics vids have been altered (like slowing down the song) to avoid copy write.
And I think I understand what you mean about rap and then singing. Kinda like Taylor Swift’s new “Bad Blood” feat. Kendrick Lamar? (That video is really cool, you should watch it!)

Hi guys. I’ve been doing alot of BB reading but not alot of posting. Trying to keep up with chickens and puppies and thesis and comps and ferret noises and everything else! Its been a busy a stressful few weeks with the bunnies and vet visits.

Hoping Moshi’s eye are healed when we go back to the vet for another recheck on Monday. After drops and now ointment, the poor little guy hides every time he see is coming.

Getting a new fridge delivered. I’m ready to have a panic attack. Shoes in the house!!!! At least it’s all wood floors I can clean. But then hubby stepped on a small rug I’ll have to clean now. OMG!!! I’m getting a headache!!

On a more important note, I went out with CT for awhile today. She’s so sad over Pete, of course!! My heart breaks for her!

Yes he does this panting noise when he’s playing and riled up. When he does his happy dance, he makes these “chicken” noises! We always say he’s laughing, it kind of sounds like laughter to us and it fits since he does it when he’s extra happy. But you’re right, it sounds a bit like a chicken, too! Sometimes he manages to escape from his room, and the only reason I usually notice is because he runs around laughing! I’ll hear little feet running down the hallway and think it’s Lily, until I start hearing manic laughter… He doesn’t understand that he shouldn’t draw attention to himself after escaping…

I have actually been thinking about getting some clear, flexible plastic tubing for him. It could go from his room around the living room and back. That way he could be out with us without getting into trouble. He hates being stuck in his room, he spends half his play time trying to get out. The hubby thinks he would tear the tube to shreds in a matter of minutes, though. What do you think?

AndHenry: Noooo, how could you not go to see Jack Sparrow??? You’re never too old to stalk a pirate! How cool that he was there, in character!

Megabunny: I’m so glad that Cottontail has you to talk to, I’m sure it helps her a lot.

JR: I hope you and Moshi get good news from the vet!

JR I really hope Moshi’s do clear up. Poor little guys. I didn’t realize he was still having issues. ((((((((Vibes for little Moshi))))))

Hazel I don’t think he will tear up the tubing. I would give it a try. mine loved running in and out of them. Mine liked little balls like for cats and I would throw those in there and they would play with them.

Andi I think it would have been great if you got Johnny’s autograph.

JR I’m sorry I’m totally out of touch with what’s going on with your little ones. I’m on this so sporadically anymore, though work is quieting down. But now I have to find something better. This job sucks. Great exercise but that’s about it. But I, too, hope your Moshi improves soon. So hard when they are in trouble, especially when you have so many to keep up with!

Lis, yes, I will have to do both. There is a non-thesis option, but I would never be able to pursue anything higher if I took that route. So I’m doing the thesis. The comps won’t come until my thesis is nearly complete, before I defend it. A lot of times, what people write for answers becomes part of the final thesis paper they submit.

Can this week be over yet!? Just got a call from the city saying they’ve found e-coli in the water pipes. The rest of my family has been using tap water to make up a drink mix all day, Tribble and Ox have been drinking the water, Ox’s salad is rinsed in it, I’ve been using it to rinse fruit and lettuce for myself.

When it rains, it pours. Right?

    • LBJ10
      Moderator
      14214 posts Send Private Message

What’s the source of the e. coli? Have they tested it yet? If this is city water, then there must be leaching going on somewhere underground. Perhaps there is a sewer pipe leaking. Unless, of course, the water plant somehow allowed untreated/contaminated water to enter the system.

    • MissGabbster
      Participant
      718 posts Send Private Message

The source was a faulty cross connection between the culinary and secondary water lines. They did test and found both E-Coli and Coliform. The faulty lines have been isolated and the mains are being flushed. The whole city is on boil order until the water tests clean, which they estimate will be early next week.

    • LBJ10

      14214 posts Send Private Message

Ah, I see. You have separate systems there. All of our water is the same. Well all of our city water is all the same, anyway. =p I suppose something like that could happen (and it did!). Was there work done on those lines recently? Sounds like it isn’t too serious. They just want everyone to boil their water just the be safe. Here, water used for irrigating crops has to meet certain standards. Not drinking water standards, but standards nonetheless. I assume your secondary water supply has some sort of regulation so it probably isn’t super dangerous.

We’ve had problems with e. coli in our drinking water here, but it is usually caused by sewer lines backing up due to flooding and whatnot. Sometimes sewer lines rupture though too and no one knows because it’s underground and a slow leak.

      e. Coli? That’s awful MissG! Hope it gets sorted out quickly!!!

I’ve always kind of wondered what the buns do when we’re not around. Especially now that they are free-roam and have the whole house to do what they do. This morning I was in the other room eating breakfast and heard chewing…on wood. I was like “What?! these guys don’t chew!” Believe it or not, it was the two taking turns nibbling on one of their toys! Ok knock on wood for me saying this, but they are such good bunnies!!!! They even went to their toy basket to hunt down the toy to chew on!

      E. coli sucks! Hopefully they caught it before levels were of concern and the boil order is a precaution.

Comps are exams, right? We do something different in my university. It’s a preliminary exam, where you have to write a 40 page critical review essay on a topic related (but not on) your thesis. Then you have to defend it and your results so far. I did mine on the evolution of babysitting in mammals and how it affects sociality. It’s going be a full chapter on my thesis, but some people use it as a part of the introduction.

Just out of curiosity, do graduate requirement for sciences vary a lot in the USA? I feel like they do in Canada. My university has a kinda of project defense, preliminary exam, you have to TA 2 classes and do the thesis. In some places you have exams instead of preliminary, in other you don’t have a project defense. Back home it’s just the thesis and defending it. I also feel like the number of chapters varies a lot.

I’m just keeping my fingers crossed I can get a job after this and stay in Canada. I really, really want to do science communication.

Ugh, this week ran away. My period just took me down yesterday, I felt so bad. Hope I can catch up with a bit a work today :X

It’s important to remember that not all e. coli is bad though. I mean, we have it inside us this very minute. BubblesJo – Yep, it especially sucks when you’re working with it in petri dishes. LOL

Yes, it seems requirements vary widely here when it comes to grad school. Different universities have different versions of the same program. Like mine has a non-thesis (terminal) and a thesis option. You may also do a straight through to PhD in a lot of the hard sciences.

You bought a new car LEL? Wish I could buy one! LOL What kind is it?

Moxie – It seems most projects take longer than we think they will. I’m sure you’ll have it done soon though. It’s a good thing you started on it early.

I’m getting so mad at my computer. This thing is such a piece of junk. I was hurried into buying it because my husband wanted me to get a different one (my old computer has XP). Well, it has been nothing but trouble. It’s an ASUS transformer book. Never by one. The connection between the screen and keyboard is faulty and it constantly connects/reconnects. Now it keeps telling me my disk space is low. I have not installed anything extra on this computer except for the anti-virus software. It did this a few months ago too. It got to the point where nothing could update, so I restored the computer (completely wiped everything clean) and started over. Now it’s doing it again. =\

If it’s not been long since you bought it, it sounds like faulty hardware, have you tried calling ASUS and seeing if they’ll fix it under their 1 year factory warranty? Ideally, you should have taken it back first time it did that, since they aren’t supposed to have disconnect issues with the screen. But, should still be able to get help if it’s under the factory warranty.

Stickerbunny – I called them right away about it. They said I would need to pay to ship it back to them and then it would be 6-8 weeks before they would send it back. At the time, I was in the middle of writing and trying to get things together for my thesis proposal. I don’t have access to the computer lab at my school anymore, so I couldn’t be out of a computer for 6-8 weeks. So I let it go. This was a year ago in April.

LBJ, wo wo wo, now your talking blasphemy in regards to golf being bad. Its such an awesome sport to watch, though I personally think if you don’t play golf, you can’t really find watching golf fun. Seeing the shots pros make, the purposeful slice, the art of the swing, and the awesome shootouts.

Now soccer, nascar (THE LITERAL WORSE), baseball, hockey, sure shoot the creator. But golf is awesome after you understand the game.

So I didn’t miss much? LOL!

Sports? (place green face picture here) Hahaha……

Not that I can remember the song without going back, but just wanted to let you know Moxie that I love all of Taylor Swifts song’s that are released here. They are always hits. Remember when I said my favourite was Romeo and Juliet and you corrected me and said the song was called Love Story! Hahaha! So funny and I not only loved that, but will always remember it. And I no longer embarrass myself and call the song by it’s correct name. BTW – I still think of you when I hear the song blank space….. lol!
See…. thanks to Moxie, I am still cool (trying!).

I just finished writing my speech for Den’s wedding – I’m so not sure if it’s appropriate and will be appreciated? Denny knows me – what was he thinking wanting me to write a read a speech at his wedding??? I think it’s cool, BUT I am being mindful that what I think is cool, no one else does??? What am I supposed to say – soppy untrue stuff??? Yep! I need this month to be over! I am not functioning normally, not sleeping well, am tired all the time….
      Stress is NOT my thing!

Oh and LBJ – I saw that you were broke (did I read that right – sorry if I didn’t). If it helps (and I’m sure it doesn’t) I had to hide the milk from Blair tonight so I could be sure I have enough for a cup of tea in the morning. Don’t anyone get me wrong, I will give Blair the milk for his cereal (lol!), but I have to hide it when we are running out cause he tips it all in his cereal like we have a cow in the fridge for my cuppa tea – HUH? I have another two days to go til we can shop. Amazes me how we never run out of dog or Henry food, but I run out of what we need….. Lol! Yes I am laughing – crying is so boring to me now after 30 years, hahaha.

Law Bun – we used to crush up the noodles inside the bag and sprinkle the flavoring on like it was seasoning and eat it raw. o_O

All sports are boring for me to watch. Golf is torturous though. Lol I simply cannot stand people in restaurants or sports bars either when they are watching something.

From my time in college, I can tell you my favorite thing was to do the make your own, and then crack an egg in the pot while it was boiling. The scrambled egg + Ramen is soo good (luckily my parents are feeding me a little bit better these days )

You made it in Andi! I was going to tell MM that you love Taylor Swift songs. I love her too btw. It drives my hubby crazy when listen to Blank Space 16 times in a row.

On the topic of Ramen…we ate a ton as kids (didn’t have a lot of money growing up). My brother used to open the packages and add extra seasoning packets to his so I would have to eat plain noodles

OMG, my adviser wants me to do a second mailing. I have to fix all the names/addresses because I use county assessor data and the format it comes in is not compatible with the printing people. This is taking FOREVER! o_O

On another note, Leopold got rather vicious with a banana earlier today. I offered him a bite and when he thought he wasn’t getting enough, he grabbed onto the peel and tugged on it like a dog tugs on a toy. Ripped it right off!

      This just happened…
      Jared leaving for work.

      Jared (to me): Love you
      Me: Love you too
Jared: Love you two (as he points to the living room at the bunnies). And I don’t mean too as in also, I mean two as in numerically.

      Haha thanks for clarifying.

This coming from the man who “doesn’t like the bunnies” and offers to take one to the humane society every other day. Tough guy.

LLH — doesn’t like the bunnies, humane society . . . Hmmm . . . sounds way too familiar except the name is Kevin not Jared! Kevin-who-doesn’t-like-bunnies is also the one saying that a 4th bun wouldn’t be any more work, especially if it likes ear rubs!

Mmm Ramen. I really like ramen noodles. I strain mine and add butter and it makes the chicken really creamy. If you strain the beef flavored and put a little sugar in it it tastes like Chinese food. And for those who are interested: 11 ramen noodle “hacks” : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lx28Oy-sJNA

AH— That’s crazy! I know America and Aussie’s have different money currencies but I believe the price over there would only be about 35 cents over in Aussie?

      Hiya all!

It’s been a little depressing this week for me. I lost a high school friend to a seizure. He passed in his sleep. I just hope he felt no pain. Since he moved to Georgia last year, myself and his friends in Washington are going to have a remembering celebration. So far, 30 people are going.

I’m taking Koucha bun to her second HOPPY HOUR event in Seattle on Saturday I took her to one in March and she really enjoyed herself. She is going to have so much fun!

Lots of fun stuff in July ;p I’m going to a Final Fantasy concert in Seattle next month. Woohoo!

Haha, is it people playing the final fantasy soundtracks? Because those soundtracks are so awesome to jam to, especially when studying.

LOL!!! Your gonna crack up when I tell you this….. the letter for Blair’s appointment arrived and guess when it’s for???
Denny’s wedding DAY!!! (Who gets married on a THURSDAY? Denny…. *sigh*!) Hahahahahahaha!

Anyhow, I called to change it and said that I had concerns with Blair staying still while having the MRI (yep, it is an MRI that he has to have) and they appreciated knowing and will do what they can and can offer light sedation. OMG no wonder I am going bonker’s! AND we have to take him back to the local hospital next week to have his heart monitored for 24 hours, so that means another 2 days at home with ME! Good grief!

I’m thinking of running away from home….. anyone want to join me??? LOL!

Moxie: Just soccer, but if you’re telling me hockey is worth watching, I might give that a try!
Don’t miss the US game on Friday…

LoveChaCha: I’m sorry about your friend. It’s so nice that you’re going to have a gathering for him though. Have fun at Hoppy Hour!

      Tessie: Congrats on graduating!

LLH, JR: Is there something you put in your hubby’s water to make them go bunny crazy? You have to tell me how you do it!

Tomorrow I might try to make ice cream. I tried it last week but it didn’t turn out right, tasted more like crushed popsicles than ice cream.

Tessie – Welcome to the “real” world! LOL Congrats on graduating!

LoveChaCha – Welcome back! In case you didn’t notice, I was jumping all over you in the thread you started. LOL So sorry to hear about your friend. That’s so sad. I suppose he wasn’t very old then. =\

AH – Why is Denny getting married on a Thursday? LOL Why do they need Blair to stay home with his heart monitor? Are the afraid he’ll mess with it if no one is watching? I guess I would think they would want to monitor him while he’s doing his everyday activities.

WHY is Denny getting married on a Thursday? To annoy me??? Hahaha! Cause it’s a lot cheaper I spose…. but gosh, everyone has to take time off work. I’m surprised that everyone is able to attend (that I know of). The daughter’s fiancé works away at the mines and has to fly back for it, and the hubby and daughter were both lucky to be able to take the time off. Lets just say if there is a hard way to do something, Den will do it, lol!
Oh and the reason for Blair taking 2 days off for the heart monitor is cause of the time he has to go in to have it fitted and then removed the following day. But that’s a good point LBJ – I didn’t think of that. Actually, I didn’t/don’t think of anything – I have no idea what I should be doing and I think that’s one of the reason’s why I am struggling with all this.
And I think the timing is really bad, I have so much on my mind between this and Den’s wedding that I have a constant headache. I wrote the speech and I think I will have to tear it up and start again – no one will gets the jokes I made except us as a small family. The last thing I want to do is embarrass Den, let alone myself – maybe I should stick with ‘short and soppy’??? But I did have some good jokes included at Den’s expense, hehe!

If anyone wants to earn a quick $5 bucks…. I’ll pay for a speech to be written, hahahaha!

OH!!! And I did something REALLY naughty!!! I took a picture of Blair’s appointment letter and texted it to Den. He franticly replied ‘what does this mean, you can’t come???’. When I told him I changed the appointment date, well…. I can’t say on here what he called me – LOL!
(Reminder – do NOT do this to the daughter when she gets married – apparently it’s NOT funny???)

      OOOP’S!

CONGRATS Tessie! I am super excited for you, if a little daunted….. ‘what to do now’? If only I had the answer’s for you. I just know the world is very different to how it was for me, and when my kid’s finished their studies I was SO relieved, but I worried for them – not just getting a job, but the right job and how your job/career can impact on your life well into your future – no wonder it is daunting.
But for some reason Tess I reckon you’ll do ok – your Miss Personality! You’ll get snapped up in no time!

Oh gosh yes Moxie, the cost of living between the US and Oz is incredible – I struggle to get why stuff is so much cheaper in the States. The cost of living in Australia is outrageous – the price of noodles proved that!!!

And I’m sorry Hazel, I’m with LBJ – sport on TV? That would be the only time I’d offer for Henry to chew threw the cord! LOL! Actually, stupid me just realised…. is that why we have so many TV’s in our house? So when the hubby watches sport I DON’T have tooooo! Hahaha!

And thanks LLH – I knew you would pass the message onto Moxie for me! I don’t get why??? So far today I haven’t had one problem getting into the chat thread, yet this morning I had to log in twice??? And the other night I posted again and I couldn’t get it to submit for the life of me – after 4 tries I gave up! Two things that annoy me? When something happens and I can’t share it with you, then I usually forget – *sigh*! The other? I hate that you may think I haven’t posted cause something is wrong when everything is ok.

AH – Well, you know you can test out your speech on us if you’re looking for feedback.
As for Blair, it makes sense to me for him to go about his normal activities while the monitor is busy recording. But maybe you can do some stuff with him while he’s home so he’s not just sitting around? Will they be doing a stress test at the hospital?

Oh gosh! If I wasn’t worried that what I wrote was so bad I would! You know how much I love you guys for your opinions. Once I have done it and I think I am ok with it, I’ll post it for ‘correctionS’! Lol!

And I agree LBJ! But the time to have it fitted and removed is at 11am both days. And the hospital is in the suburb to the left of us and his day centre to the right, so about 50 minutes apart and his day finishes at 3pm. But I’m thinking, maybe he can come tile shopping with me after??? I was wondering when I’d find the time to tile shop? He he he he…..
AND YES! The last thing I feel like doing at the moment is tile shopping, hahaha! But at least it shouldn’t be busy like a shopping centre and boring with no money to spend! I only have the money for the tiles and kitchen sink and tap because they are part of the budget and I have to buy/provide them.

OMG OMG OMG! I just remembered something I wanted to tell you guys when I couldn’t get on and forgot…..

Sooo, Blair bought home a little perfume bottle filled with coloured sand from his art day. I admired it and let it sit on my desk for a few hours before dumping it in the bin when he went to bed. Bugga! I got up the next morning and there was ANOTHER one on my desk! Different bottle but the same. I thought how many does he have??? Anyhow the rest of the week went by and I forgot about it till I woke up this morning and found this little wood thing covered in glued sparkly gem thingy’s on my bedside table thinking Blair must have come in and put it there while I was asleep last night. When I got up I took it and showed my hubby who couldn’t keep a straight face – he put it on my bedside table after Blair gave it to him last night! LOL!

Sooo…… guess how we spent the morning? Giving it to each other by leaving it in each other’s spaces, hahaha! Hey, at least it hasn’t made the bin yet! (I know it must sound terrible that we bin his stuff, but if you knew how much and what he brings home you’d understand). Soooo…… this afternoon Blair brings home more stuff! A catalogue for a HUGE tv he wants (and will never get!) some figurine and a ball! The ball is not huge or little, about 3x’s the size of a tennis ball and I told Blair to roll it to Henry. Henry loves (or HATES!) it, he has moved it around for a good 30 seconds! Talk about concentration! So, I think we will KEEP the ball???

      LOL!

I just had a naughty thought – when I couldn’t submit my last post the other night, was that BB or a FL blocking it??? You had enough of me??? LOL!

Anyhow, just a quick message to Hazel. I watched all of Season 1 of Orange is the New Black (only took me 2 days – GASP! Lol!) and Season 2 makes perfect sense to me now – bloody brilliant! I have the recorder set to record ALL of Season 3 this Saturday, apparently we get it the same time as you guys in the US. And I’m a little excited…. one of my favourite Aussie’s is staring in Season 3, Ruby Rose. I can’t wait to see her stuff in it, so look out for her as a newbie. She has short dark hair, tall and slender and her tat’s are real. I just realised that was probably a dumb thing to say – I’m sure ALL the tat’s are real on this show???

And bam, I recorded True Detective – is it only one Season with 8 episode’s??? And are they doing a Season 2? I haven’t actually watched it yet – I am waiting for a cold, miserable, rainy Sunday to spend in bed to watch the whole 8 episodes in one go. I reckon sometime late July the way I am going? LOL! I had to watch Orange straight away seeing I already watched Season 2. I am going to save Season 3 and do a marathon as well.
For all the things I CAN’T live without??? My dishwaher, washing machine, fridge and RECORDER! Hehehehe…..

Congrats on graduation Tessie, and welcome to the real world. Its not so bad .

AH- Question, is it customary in Australia for a groom’s parents to pay for the wedding? Although I am far off from being married I am pretty sure the groom’s family pays for the rehearsal dinner while the bride’s family is responsible for paying for the wedding. Not sure how strictly its adhered to, but just curious if that custom holds true for Ausie families as well.

Edit: AH- there is a second season for True Detective coming, but its a whole new cast and plot. Quite like American Horror Story.

Hazel — I think the bunnies must be working on the hubbies together! What do you think LLH?!

AH — My boss and I did the same thing with an old broken phone! We can’t trash most things at work (they have to go through “surplus property” which means paperwork). He’d hide it in my office and vice versa. I even hid it behind some papers in the safe in his office, and have found it in the mini fridge in my office.

Hoppy Hour is an event where people bring their bunnies to a location. There are litter boxes, toys, and hidey houses. The bunnies are free to roam on a space, while the hoomins are on the sidelines. There are people walking around to make sure bunnies don’t fight. Most of the time, bunnies don’t as the space is very neutral. They are allowed to bonk noses but thats it. It is really fun. Koucha was super social last time. She kept on thumping at a lionhead boy that wouldn’t come out of his carrier and she eventually chinned it ! There are some videos on Youtube

Yeah! Seattle Symphony is going to be playing some classica FF music. The most popular tracks I love the games and the music. So relaxing and some are so emotional haha

AH– I wouldn’t be too worried about the MRI. I had one when I was about 4-ish(?) when I lived down south. I was bitten by something poisonous (that’s what they assume) behind the knee and we didn’t know until I couldn’t use that leg any more because it hurt so bad. And the bite got infected and a large mass appeared that was a little larger then a golf ball (but for my little leg it was big). I had to stay in the hospital for over a week. BUT the point of the story was that I had to have one as a small child. I was so concerned about staying still, and the constant hum hum hum was so soothing I fell asleep! (And I was not on any meds to keep me calm/still or fall asleep). So good luck.
I haven’t heard that song on the radio for a long time either. I think they only play it on country music stations over here.

Yes JR and Hazel I think it’s little Pumpkin working her magic on the hubby over here. Plus this is not an exaggeration–we got bunnies with our own personalities. Pumpkin just expects Rocky to take care of her and Rocky does it without expecting anything in return. That makes me sound like a horrible, selfish person but really it’s that I found a pretty amazing husband!

Andi I can’t wait (for your sake) for Denny’s wedding to be done and over!!!! I’m sure your speech will be just great and I think it’s fine if you have a few inside jokes. Denny wouldn’t have asked you to write a speech if he didn’t think he would like and appreciate it!

Andi, there are just one season, 8 episodes of True Detective, but season 2 is airing in like August or something. Godness I loved that show, I had to watch each episode 3 times =)

Denny wouldn’t have asked you to write a speech unless it was what he absolutely wanted on his wedding day. I just know it will be a lovely speech. How could it not be??

I think Blair will be fine with the MRI, I’m sure they know exactly what to do with patients that have trouble keeping still. He can’t be their first, only or last pt that has trouble keeping still.

LLH, JR: That makes perfect sense. Your bunnies got your hubbies wrapped around their little paws. Unfortunately Oscar isn’t much of a charmer… Not getting nipped is as good as it gets.

AH – Aww, poor Blair. I’m sure he thinks he is doing something wonderful by bringing you all of his handmade gifts. I wouldn’t worry too much about the MRI. Like everyone else said, I’m sure the people working there have experience with patients that have trouble staying still. This can’t be the first time!

*sigh* Our refrigerator isn’t working properly. It can’t keep the temperature below 40 degrees, which makes it unsafe for meat and other perishables. I panicked and hurried up and gave the bunnies all of the lettuce in there so it didn’t go bad. Now I’m afraid to buy them more for fear it won’t keep. There are some things in there that will definitely need to be thrown out. The condiments, margarine, etc. are probably fine. I’m not sure what we will do. We simply cannot afford to buy a new one. This one is so old though, I don’t think anyone would be able to fix it. I guess it’s a good thing my mom bought us that small chest freezer a couple of months ago. We had to move all of the stuff in the refrigerator freezer down to the basement in that chest freezer to prevent it from thawing. =\

LLH — free roam may have something to do with it. I’ve heard that free roam bunnies still binky and zoom, but you may be less likely to see it since they can do it anytime they please and not just when you’re around to watch. Maybe they’re racing around all night, catching major air, and racing across the furniture and you two are just heavy sleepers! Being a runner will do that to you! So, when you get up one morning and the furniture is rearranged and covered in fluff, you’ll know that either that is what is going on, or that Moshi has been to your house!

I feel for you LBJ – notice one of the things I said I can’t live without was the fridge…. For the exact reason’s you stated! I’m so sorry, I know how distressing it is, not only having your fridge die, but all the waste if you have to throw a lot out. AND the inconvenience of not being able to buy much for fear of it not keeping without being kept cool. I don’t know if you guys do this over in the States, but we have a specific credit card for interest free purchases, like a fridge. When our washing machine died, we bought a new one interest free and paid it back at about $50 a month over 12 months. If it wasn’t for being able to buy the new machine on the card, I don’t know what we would have done – we don’t have $600 to just go out and buy a new one either….. but I am lucky, we can afford $50 a month.

And THANKS ‘everyone’! I am feeling much more confident about Blair having his MRI now. Like I said, I think my fear/concern is my ignorance. And thanks Moxie, knowing you actually had one done when you were around 4 really made the difference cause that is what Blair is like in a lot of regards – a 4yo. I just wish he was the size of a 4yo still! Hahahaha…….

Oh! And we haven’t been caught (YET?) throwing his handmade crafts out – we take care to do it when he is not around and to cover it once it’s in the bin, hehehe! Or even better??? We give it away, LOL! Remember last Christmas and everyone got one of Blair’s Christmas gifts and I MADE everyone take them home, hahaha! Just remembered, he made this tree thing and I admit it was really good but I didn’t have a place for it….. A friend moved into a new house and we encouraged Blair to give it to her as a house warming gift, HA HA HA! The best/funniest part? She still has it! I bet she puts it away and pulls it out when we visit??? When I told you I was a bad mum, I bet you didn’t believe me? You do NOW!

Have a great time at your friends Moxie – fun fun! I’ll miss you!

LBJ- As a grad student are you and your husband not renting? Seems like something a landlord should be liable for in terms of fixing (mine was at least due to a NC statute).

Even if you are you are buying or renting a house not from a landlord, you could look at craigslist. In undergrad me and my roommates permanently destroyed our fridge, so we went on craigslist and got a relatively (for us anyway) nice one for like 125 dollars, we just had to pick it up. So if you are in a temporary housing situation you could look into craigslist, and even if not you can definitely find great deals for nice appliances on that site as well. Just make sure you see it beforehand and determine that its still functioning haha.

AH – A “cheap” refrigerator is $600. We don’t have $600 lying around. Especially not now with our car insurance due, plus my husband’s truck registration needs to be renewed this month, and of course his truck payment. We are trying to scrap together enough money to pay for all of that! I just about cried when we got the truck registration in the mail. That alone is $260. =\

Law Bun – We “rent” from my in-laws. We live for free in one of their rental houses and my husband fixes stuff and improves the house. Hence the infamous toilet in the middle of the basement. We could try to find a used fridge somewhere. I did check Craigslist, but there wasn’t much selection. I think the biggest issue is that the spot for the refrigerator can barely hold something 30″ wide. Most are too big.

Ah that makes sense. Well, being renters, do the in laws not have sources where you can get them repaired. Though I definitely understand the issue of having old appliances and NEVER finding anyone to fix them :/. The older they get, the more expensive they get to replace.

Can’t you get a used refrigeration from Craig’s List or sth? I have done that, for a 10th of the price a new one costs. I bought it from a nice person who was having her kitchen re-modelled, so the fridge wasn’t even old. I’ve had it for a couple of years now, but if it breaks down, I can just throw it out and get another one, it was only (the equv. of) 60 dollars. I wouldn’t have considered a dirty old nasty fridge of course, but at least here, people ioften do away with perfectly good kitchen appliances just because they don’t think they look trendy enough.

I don’t think they will buy us a new fridge. We chucked the one that was here and got a different one from a friend of my parents who was actually tearing down her “summer home” and rebuilding it. Of course, she was going to put all new stuff in once it was built. When I say “summer home”, it was a tiny little house on a local lake that she bought really cheap (she worked in real estate before she retired and got some killer deals on houses, most of which became rentals).

bam – Yes, we considered it. I guess if a nice one that would fit in our tiny space pops up, then we will have to check it out.

How temporary is your living situation? I mean you could just get a refrigerator that doesn’t fit and just leave it there for a few months until things calm down financially. Then again I am one of those people who really do not care about the aesthetics of my house . Either way best of luck in finding a new one! How’s the thesis coming along? When is it supposed to be finished?

Law Bun – We have been here for quite a few years and they haven’t kicked us out yet. LOL I think the kitchen was supposed to be redone someday, but I don’t think that will happen anytime soon. There are more pressing matters (bathroom, roof, etc.).

The thesis is coming, I suppose. I haven’t written anything since my proposal and I haven’t begun entering data yet. I’m mostly just trying to focus of getting enough surveys. We are doing a second mailing, those will go out next week. And I’m still trying to hit “busy” days at my two in-person locations.

cleaned out Rockets kennel today, added in a memory foam mat underneath and extra blanket over it and he seems to like it. pretty soon we’ll be building him a 2 1/2 floor Cube condo. I say half, as our planned location is right below the light switches and furnace controls so we’ll be building that part beside them. nice little “observatory” for him to keep an eye on us and make sure we’re not making a trip to the mini fridge without inviting him (he has a habit of running between our legs and taking what he can get) almost forgot to add, he was thumping a lot today and I couldn’t figure out why. house was empty, nothing outside. checked the weather ap on my phone and sure enough I see thunder scheduled! didn’t get a noticeable amount where I am but I was impressed. guess he’s been paying attention when he’s out while I watch the news :p

The picture is horrible I know. It’s not completely painted in this photo and the door isn’t painted and doesn’t have the lock hooked up yet. (hence the bungie cord) Oh and my camera was tilted so it looks like it is falling onto it’s side… It’s not I promise!

^”Okay let’s go.”   rooster: “Wait I still wanna nap!”

      ^”What is it?”

^One of the chicks who has been bullied. She had to be sectioned off so she can heal before she can go in with the others.

^Me: “Here to change your water!” Chicks: “About time hooman.”

Where have you been hiding Nora?

Well, we found the mini fridge that we bought 3 or 4 years ago. It was buried in the chaos, also known as the basement. We took it out of the box and set it up in the living room. It was 35F in there, so we put some things in it that we thought we could save. Nothing much, just the margarine, cheese, condiments, etc. My husband also a few things to drink in there. We just checked the thermometer just now and it says it’s 40F. What the heck?

Moxie those are some gorgeous chickens! The Rooster pictures was funny. I am sure your coop is going to look great when its finished.

LBJ maybe the fridge heated up a little bit when you added the items to it. Maybe things will cool back down.

LBJ- as long as the fridge fits a 6 pack, you should be good to go . Nothing like a little liquid encouragement to push through renovations and paper writing haha (or is that just me )

Moxie- I have to know, are you keeping them as pets or do you get some economic benefit from them? Eggs? Have you gotten attached to one? Can you teach a chicken its name? Litter habits? Are they friendly? The list goes on but I am just so curious haha.

The Law Bun— We got them for eggs and because we really like chickens. We have 45 so should get about 12 dozen eggs a week in their younger years. I am more attached to my Salmon Faverolles (Luca, Calla, Ash, Mae, Edna, Niall, Cassia) and our Golden Cuckoo Marans (they are my older sister’s and she hasn’t named them. Although I nicknamed the rooster, the one laying down “Nanny”) and Henrietta. I’m not sure about if they can learn names. Maybe if you only had a couple and you frequently used their names, but I bet you could. Chickens poop where they want. The more time you spend with them and the breed the friendlier they will be. Our Faverolles and Marans and Henrietta are a few weeks older so we spent more time holding them ect. and feeding them treats so they are more confident and will come up to you looking for treats. And they won’t run away from you if you want to pick them up like the little ones. Ask away!

Moxie, so I actually looked at some sites (natural curiosity) and came across a forum similar to ours about INDOOR pet chickens and ducks. And they have developed a duck/chicken diaper. All i can say is, AWESOME. the videos, pictures, gah now I want a pet duck !

It really is cool Moxie =) Will you be selling the eggs? (I don’t suppose you can eat them all yourself unless you have like a gigantic family). I get eggs from a local chicken “backyard-breeder”, it’s so much nicer to know that the laying hens have a good life with lots of access to the outdoors etc.

LBJ — since I’ve had so much fun over your toilet, this one’s just for you….. we have a large fridge in our kitchen but wanted extra cold storage for soft drinks, bottled water, etc. The only place on the main level of our house for a mini fridge was in our half bath. So, if you ever come to our house, you can literally reach right in the mini fridge and grab a Coke or a beer while using the bathroom!

those chicks are really cute! also i got a fridge that had a few dents in from being on the sales floor and with a bit of flirting i got it down to half recommended retail price, so maybe try that? the dents didn’t really bother me, i cover my fridge in magnets anyways.
Today i was naughty and took a mental health day off, then an hour after i called in, i got a call from my landlord confirming that they were inspecting the property tomorrow…say what?!? so after chatting with them i agreed they could come over tomorrow morning, so Bun is spending tonight with my sister and i am very nervous, as i was leaving there he was in his cage thumping! Won’t be for long though, he will be fine despite what he thinks. Also Im doing job applications left and right, so if anyone needs a nurse, and wants to hire me, i’m keen! Also i really wanna finish watching orange is the new black and game of thrones, but i just couldnt be bothered today!

Its been a heck of a day here today, our ac is not working, on top of the door that is getting replaced since it warped so badly that me or my fiancee cannot kick it in. So its been pouring in, with the house repairs that we are doing.

Right now, I’m slightly frazzled since I have to make sure that both our dog and bun don’t overheat. its the husky in him that I worry about and all her fur. I have been putting in cold terracotta plates with ice underneath and chilled, wet salads for Laurana, and ice in Troy’s water for the day and changing it out every so often. We had the ac repairmen out earlier but all he found wrong was our filter was bad… okay we got a new one in and its still above eighty degrees’ in the house. Even my fiancee’s mother is hot and she wears sweaters all the time since she’s always cold… now she’s not and she’s called the ac guys back. Hopefully this gets fixed soon since yesterday it felt like it was 105 outside and that is weird for Tennessee

How did you spend your morning???

I spent the morning in bed watching Episode 14 of Season 3 of Orange is the New Black with Henry! OMG HAZEL!!! Have you watched it yet? I gave in and watched the Season over 4 nights and I meant to tell you Hazel that I reckon the ending to Season 2 was so good that I wondered if the end to Season 3 could trump it? IT DID!!! It was bloody brilliant! As keen as I am to talk about it, I don’t want to give anything away especially knowing Steph hasn’t watched it yet…. but l can say it was BRILLIANT and you won’t be disappointed. And Ruby Rose was great – they even made reference to Aussie-ness, hahaha! And not that this is of any importance, lol! but the song they featured is one of my all time favourites since I was a teenager and I still play it often  hehe….

PS – Notice my thongs (shoes) on the cane chest? They are my good ones and I have them up so Henry won’t chew them.  Lol!

So much more to catch up on, I’ll have to have another read before writing more – BUT I just had to share my exciting morning.

Edit to ADD – And OMG! How long do I have to wait for Season 4???

But I do admit, we watch TV in our room cause Blair watches the TV and has claimed the lounge room as his – he needs the room to dance along with the Wiggle’s. And I am a bugga for waking up early (like 3am – WTH? ) and will make a cuppa and get back into bed and watch TV on the chance I will fall back to sleep till 7am. I even go to sleep with the TV and timer on – the best invention ever? Not sliced bread…. the timer on the TV!

Wow AH, I’m jealous. Wish my boys would sit in the bed with me while I watched tv.

So Fluffy – Yeah, I remember when our AC broke. Terrible. It wasn’t as bad as the time my parents’ broke though. They had been paying extra money for one of those service plans. The AC broke when it was over 100 degrees. Mega heat wave! The guy came and said he would have to order a part. To my parents it would be 2 weeks. They were cooking in their house for a week when they finally called them back. A different guy came that time and he told them he could temporarily solder something together so they could have AC until the part came. He said he didn’t know why the first guy didn’t do that. Wow. Not worth the extra $$$ they paid for the service plan if you ask me. o_O

Well, this settles it. I’m fat and apparently other people think I’m fat. My husband met me for lunch earlier today. We were waiting in line and some “men” (and I’m using that term loosely) came in behind us. One of them said something under their breath, but I couldn’t really hear them. While we were still standing there, one of these guys kicked the guy standing in front of us. And I mean kicked….. hard. The guy in front of us spun around real fast and he looked pissed, but then he say the a-hole behind us that was laughing. Apparently they knew each other, but boy he still looked pissed.
Oh yes, the fat part. Well, after we left, my husband asked me if I had heard what the guy behind us had said. I said no. Then he said that he heard him making a comment about my fat behind (to put it nicely) as they were walking in behind us. Wow. Am I really that fat? =( Of course, my husband said nothing. But perhaps he felt it wasn’t worth it.

I can’t wait for you to watch Orange Steph….. but remember not to give anything away when posting here. I remember when I missed Season 1 and I threatened everyone if they gave it away, hahaha!

I wouldn’t worry about it LBJ – I’ve seen you and you are NOT fat! And who cares…. I wear slipper’s to the shop’s, my hair pulled back without being combed properly and I am not feral! Just lazy on occasion, haha! I know I scrub up ok when I need or want to and I only do it for myself and my family, not to impress anyone else – I don’t really care what anyone, especially a stranger who doesn’t know how nice I am…. thinks of me! I only care about the people who care about me thinks of me, and that’s I’m a good guy and a good friend. I know it can hurt, why I hate rude/obnoxious people, but don’t take it to heart. Even if you were 10x’s the size you are, it wouldn’t change how or what I think about you – I adore you for YOU and reckon your gorgeous!
And my hubby wouldn’t do or say anything either…. he says to my face he would – but I know he wouldn’t! What can he do? Have a punch up? NO thanks! Not interested. And I’m ok with that. The only time I would jack up or expect anyone else to jack up is if someone had a go to Blair’s face about his disability – but I reckon everyone else around would jump in too – no one tolerates poor form anymore.
Remember LBJ – fat bottom’s are cool! Queen even wrote and sang a song dedicated to fat bottmed girls! My favourite Queen song!!!

Well, I’d rather have a big butt that a flat bum! Getting older, my fear isn’t that my tummy is getting bigger than my boobies or that they may droop – my fear is that I will lose my butt. Nothing worse than not being able to fill out a pair of pants or jeans from behind! You’ve got nothing to worry about LBJ!

NO! That is NOT bad LBJ! I told you, anything that has or is yet to break down in our house can’t be purchased with cash upfront and is only made possible for us to replace using a ‘interest free’ credit card – or any credit for that matter. We only have and use the interest free credit card cause they hope we will buy, not pay it off in time and have to pay a ridiculous amount in interest, which I am super careful to make sure never happens. If it wasn’t for credit I’d be hand washing (NO chance!) and eating takeaway, hahaha! Don’t feel bad – I’ve pretty well always had to live like this.

PS – The hubby’s family lives South of Brissy and I lived there for a year 16 (?) years ago when I first met him and moved in with him, but I was a ‘Northy’ through and through and had to come back home, ha ha ha! My memory??? Going to Ikea! LOL! We are getting one here in a year or two.
OMG, I can’t believe I met another QLDer on BB – WOW!!! (it doesn’t matter to me that you live in WA now, he he he….). Have I mentioned that I’m a little excited??? LOL!

I am a Queenslander through and through. We will definitely be moving back there some stage, depends on how long it takes to save a house deposit….which the way my partner spends money won’t be for another 20 years ha!
So I will probably join you being a naughty Qld bunny owner

Oh Im a Southsider! I don’t know if I could live on the Northside, it feels like a betrayal hahah!

IKEA so many childhood memories at that place.

Are you into the football? State of Origin tonight? I am not a big football fan, I used to watch SOO though, but I worked for the last 4 years through most of the games so got over it a bit. My partner is a NS Welshman so there is a little bit of competition in the house at the moment.

I am bursting to get my bun lets call him Stormy for now (Im still trying to decide on a name, but this will do for now haha). Everytime I get on here and read all the hilarious stories it just makes me more excited to get to know him and his quirks!

It is super cool to have a few Aussies on the board!

NOOOOOO!!!! Everyone here knows I HATE sport! LOL! Bloody State of Origin – no one is happy it is being played in Melbourne tonight except ME! If anyone is wondering, SOO is a football game between QLD & NSW – boring! I plan on shaving my legs or drinking wine tonight – maybe both? Lol!

When you move back and as long as your in the SEQ area there is no reason why we wouldn’t be able to catch up and have bunny dates, how cool would that be! The big secret to keeping your bunny secret in Queensland – don’t tell anyone that you don’t trust with your life or your wallet! For the first year NO one knew about Henry – why I was so grateful to find BB. Not only did I learn how to look after and spoil him properly, I was also able to talk and brag about him – I was bursting, lol! I have since shared him with a friend or two that I have here, cause I do trust them with his life, but we still don’t discuss him openly – everyone is to scared, lol! No one wants to see him or us caught out. And lets be honest, no one knows about bunny’s so the conversation gets boring and short lived, hahaha! I could talk about him all night and then show pictures of him till the sun rises in the morning, LOL!

And it’s OK to pre name your bunny… I had Henry picked out for my bunny weeks before I got him – and the name was for a girl or boy, I just wanted a bunny named Henry! When you know my dog’s and kid’s name you will get it, hahaha!

My hubby and his mum still go to Ikea at Logan when he visits his parents – he goes for the cheap meal. Did you read that my hubby is an idiot? And I totally get the Southsider and Northy thing – I remember meeting my hubby and when he told me where he lived I told him I didn’t think I could date a Southy, hahahaha! Only genuine Northsider’s and Southsider’s get the joke….. Ha ha ha!

And there may only be a few Aussie’s here on BB, but we are good value! You’ll love us before you know it, hehehehe……

LOL Aaron – there are bunnies everywhere and this is the problem for us Queenslander’s – they are banned here (only State in Australia & the world!) because the Government says that the wild rabbits (and hares in my opinion) are ruining the land for our farmer’s….. *SIGH*! I’m over it and don’t even care anymore…. I just take care to keep MY bunny safe from those meanies!

LOL AndHenry! Yeah me and sports, we don’t really get along! As I said used to watch SOO back in my younger days, at the pub a few drinks etc but I stopped because I ended up working on Wednesday nights. Haven’t really gone back. And I am working tonight, so no need to watch haha.

OH How good would bunny dates be!!! I love that idea. We will definitely be coming back to Brisbane area, my partner is near on obsessed with living there…I don’t know why haha. We will likely buy around Wynnum area, I lived their previously and loved it and my partner likes it too.
I happen to own a breed of dog that isn’t exactly legal either (shhh), so I am well versed at being careful with information I share with people. But I have a few good friends who I know would be totally trustworthy. And a few who I would need to stop from stealing my bunny for themselves haha! There are a fair few illegally kept bunnies in Qld, I used to be facebook friends with someone who had one. TBH I dont think they actively seek out people keeping them, but if they escape you are stuffed.

Oh Im just not sure about the name yet. Stormy is short for Stormageddon, I am a Doctor Who nerd….which is where the name comes from. But I am not completely sold on it yet, so still fiddling around and thinking about it, see how I go.

I knew you would understand the Northside/Southside thing! No one else would get it. I guess it is kinda like the Qld/NSW thing!
Haha I know people who go to IKEA just for the meals! I used to work literally across the road from it up until I left QLD last year and some of my work mates would go there for lunch haha.

Yer, I used to go to Friday’s in the City with the hubby to watch the SOO – I danced and got drunk with everyone else who didn’t want to watch the game, LOL! And even funnier – I used to sell the tickets for the games, hahaha! If I was feeling cheeky, when someone asked what would be a good seat, I said ‘NONE’! hehehehehe……
Why would you live anywhere else but Brissy??? We have the lifestyle and affordable housing compared to the other States – my favourite hang out is QPAC, the shows we have seen – I am going to see Jimmy Barnes there in July! ! I know Wynnum – it’s like the Southside version of where I live on the water. It’s beautiful! And your dog? A pitbull? I am a great believer that your dog is as good as you raise it. I had a Staffy growing up and she was the best ever! I’m now down to Shih Tsu’s and Maltese x Toy Poodle’s – to fit them all in our bed, hahaha!
And I agree, they are not actively seeking out bunnies, but it just takes one person to DOB you in – I hate dibby dobber’s! LOL! I know there are a lot of bunnies kept in QLD – the law is just…. dumb! My Henry has been neutered and has his very own exotic vet and I now buy his food from Melbourne and get it delivered – all good! BTW – Henry can not escape. We had a scare once (still to soon for me to talk about, lol!) and I know for a fact he can’t escape us! LOL! And it’s a DATE! as soon as you get back to Brissy.

Yes! The Northside and Southside thing is REAL!!! Hahahaha. When my daughter moved to South Brisbane she never heard the end of it from us – traitor! My son is still loyal, hehehe…. and it’s just like SOO and the QLDer and NSW thing – gotta love it!
GREAT – Now my BB friends are gonna know that I am weirder than I made myself out to be…. bugga! Ha ha ha!

PS – If you ever need help with a bunny name…. we *might* be able to help you out…. maybe??? Just start a new thread and see if anyone replies???
(Hahahaha everyone, get your game face on and names ready!!!)

      dibby dobbers? Really Andi? lol!

I had a TV in my bedroom growing up but hubby and I have never had one in our room. I’d probably never sleep! The funny thing is, hubby got his first job as a kid to get his very own tv in his very own room and now his mean wife won’t let him have one!!!

LBJ–you should be able to find an interest free card…some times for up to 2 or 3 years! Shop around at different places (Lowe’s, Home Depot. Menards, etc.)

I promise bam! One week to go….. I’ll even post photo’s when we are dressed up on the day before we leave – PROMISE!
OH! And your not going to believe this, hahaha…. as quick as I asked if there was going to be a season 2 for True Detective, an advert came up LOL! It starts in about 2 weeks and it stars Vince Vaughn (I have no idea how to spell his surname, lol!) and I have it set to record – I can’t wait!!! You guys…. no wonder I watch to much tv, haha! Love it!!!

I have to laugh (at myself!)…. I booked into the hairdresser’s (for the first time in years) to get my hair cut, coloured and a’ practice’ bun (upstyle as they like to call and charge for it) ready for Den’s wedding. I came home and my ‘upstyle’ fell out within 3 hours – thank goodness I had a practice run and it didn’t happen on the day. I also said if the highlights could be silver/whitish as I hate that yellow gold look with my complexion – it looked ok till I washed it and now it looks, you guessed it – yellow gold! I was really annoyed and a little upset till I realised how clever I was paying all that money that I couldn’t really afford for a practice run. So I am getting Denny to cut my fringe properly when he comes over this Friday to cut the hubby’s and Blair’s hair, have bought a silver rinse to fix my hair colour and am now wearing my hair down and I’ll blowdry my fringe myself. Saved myself another fortune and I reckon I may look better than she (the hairdresser) had me looking – seriously, when I got home and looked at my ‘upstyle’ I reckon I looked like Alice from the Brady Bunch! I know I am getting old, but WTH??? She also talked me into getting my makeup done – I reckon I would have looked like a clown! No thanks! I’ll do it myself! I trust me!
You know the stupid thing??? When I called to cancel the appointment for the wedding ‘DAY’ – I lied! I said I was getting ready at my daughter’s house on the other side of the City. I wish I could have said – your service SUCKED!

NO one likes a ‘dibby dobber’ LLH, hahahaha! And the TV thing….. I think that came along after I had Den, LOL! But in all seriousness, it was so Blair could have the lounge room to watch his shows and DVD’s. No way am I watching Orange with Blair in the room – GASP! Lol!

Andi I had to look up Alice in Brady Bunch, that show has never aired here (I think), and I had to laugh. You should’ve told the hairdresser that’s how she made you look and that’s why you’re never coming back! (Although I don’t believe you actually could look like that.)

I support your decision to do your own makeup, I would’ve done the same thing. A stranger’s idea about an appropriate make up for the groom’s mother could differ very much from yours. It’s too important an event. As for silver rinse, I use a silver conditioner every time I wash my hair, to avoid yellowish highlights. You just musn’t let those rinses sit for too long or the hair may become purple, which could surprise other guests =) But of course Den would never let that happen to you.

I’m almost ready to pack up and go to bed – NO I didn’t shave my leg’s tonight or break open the wine, I have Blair’s hospital appointment tomorrow morning (NOT the MRI – the heart monitor one) and I spose I better turn up looking intelligent (as much as I possibly can??? Lol) without a morning after headache or cut legs (yes I still cut myself – I hate being a girl now!), hahaha!

And I have been saving this last post for Moxie – OMG, look how beautiful Henrietta is!!! I adore that she is so unique, I love her so much! All the chick’s look beautiful, but there is that little something special about Henrietta. I too loved all the photo’s – thank you! And the chicken house??? WOW! You have no idea how impressed I am – beats Henry’s home made house, hahaha! Good thing Henry doesn’t have to live in his house or he’d be moving out to live the high life with your chicken’s Moxie, lol!
I hope it’s ok to say on here that I got your PM but I still can’t reply – I can write, but when I hit send I get the whirling wheel and the non operational/timed out page. How do I know this??? I replied and got the ‘page’. So, I wrote again but this time I copied it before hitting send and it happened again. Did a paste and again it took me to the ‘page’! ONLY if your ok with it, I’d love to reply to you here – I am desperate to tell you what I think about something in particular, but I won’t till you tell me it’s ok. And I reckon everyone would think it’s super cool toooo! I’m sure you can tell I’m a little excited about it, hehehehe……
I’ve also noticed you haven’t been on as much? You know I can be having a really bad day (like getting my hair done – good grief! Lol!) and I look forward to reading your posts as much as everyone else – you really are everyone’s joy here on BB, and I hope you know it. I’m also missing my other kiddies MK and Midnight – again, like Tokii, I hope they are just busy and all is ok.

Just for fun….. remember that wood thing with glitter gems stuck all over it that Blair made and bought home and the hubby and I have been passing off to each other??? I got the hubby a beauty yesterday, I packed it in his lunch bag – he sent me a picture text of it in his bag when he found it, hahaha! I woke up this morning to find it laying next to my face in bed – GASP! But very funny! I have been holding out all day trying to think of where to give it to him next??? If anyone has any ideas, please pass them on…. LOL!

And here I was telling Lee that you guys may think I’m weirder than I am – NOPE! You guys know me! Hahahaha……..

      Ni night everyone…..

LBJ be happy you have a butt. lol Aren’t big butts in right now? I kind of don’t get that whole thing. Since I lost weight I lost my butt. I wasn’t prepared for that. I knew I would loose what boobs I had. I don’t mind that. Its been a year now and I lost 51lbs. I figured since I lost weight slowly all over time I wouldn’t have any loose skin but I do have a tiny bit here and there. I just choose not to look at my butt. lol

I am with JR I don’t have a tv in my room. I have blackout curtains so I can sleep. I also practice feng shui and its not good to have a tv in the bedroom.

AH Maybe you can put in in the shower if you hubby takes a shower in the morning? My hubby takes a shower every morning before I do. I would hde it in there the night before so he could find it.

Sindriona, congrats to the weight loss, that’s admirable!

In my experience, butts on the somewhat bigger side are generally appreciated by members of the opposite sex, LBJ. There are far worse bodily features.

I don’t have a tv in my bedroom either and nothing reminiscent of water/the sea because that’s also not supposed to be good according to Feng Shui. I have a three legged toad with a coin in it’s mouth in my hallway. (It’s made of clay, of course.)

      AH

      Fridays! Nice haha.

Oh I like Brisbane, Im just not sure why HE wants to live there he is a NSW boy! I think it is mostly because he has a fair few friends who live there and it is the closest capital city to his home town (He is from Yamba, NSW, well he grew up there but was born in Vic).
I have to say I have a much better appreciation for Brisbane now that I have lived here for 12 months. Port Hedland is very small, we don’t have a cinema, it is in the desert (but next to the ocean), so our ‘winter’ is still hitting almost 30degrees every day (not that I mind I dont like the cold haha), we get cyclones most years, other than that it rarely rains, you can’t go on nice long walks because you will either die of heat exhaustion or there is no where to go because the ground is covered in spinifex (spiky grass)! Haha I make it sound horrible but in actual fact it is also very beautiful. We go camping quite a lot so we get to explore the pretty places, and I love walking on the beach with the dogs. But I MISS the subtropical climate of SEQ, I miss long rambling walks or hikes with the dogs, so I will be super happy when we move back.

I think I know where you live. I have a few friends who live in the same area too! I adore Wynnum, sucked moving away but at the time couldn’t afford to live so far from work. Yes she would be classed as a Pitbull based on how she looks, but she is a total sook. When asked I usually tell people she is an Amstaff mix.

I also hate dibber dobbers! And yes I totally understand, not worth the risk really. The law is just dumb, it is so outdated, but I dont think it will change anytime soon, there just isn’t any motivation for them to do so. But lets face it, it is a pointless law considering a) people keep them anyways and b) all you have to do is walk into Tweed Heads which is NSW and there are loads of bunnies, who don’t give a flying rats about your law or the border haha.
No good you had a scare. Yes I would be ensuring we had a very very very secure bunny area in Qld, out of sight and no escape points.
You will have to point me in the direction of your vet when I come back to old Brissie land.

Hahah! My entire family still lives on the Southside, lucky for them or I would have to rib them forever. It is so weird, because aside from a couple people who live in your area, I barely know anyone on the Northside haha, we keep to ourselves in the South! lol!
It is ok, I am just as weird if not weirder than you. I am known for my over the top, loudness and weirdness (oh and gutter jokes).

Ok might make a post up for names, just for giggles, but who knows someone may suggest something awesome!

I’m still finding therm dibber dobbers hilarious! I’m assuming it’s an Aussie version of tattletale.

Lee I have to say I’m partial to JR when it comes to bunny naming. She solidified our decision to name Shamrock by throwing out the nickname Rocky. Now it’s really the only thing we call him. Oh, and she gave our duo the celebrity nickname PumpkRock, so there’s that. Haha just be ready for an all out brawl when the time comes for naming!!!

Sindriona–great work on your weight loss! I lost 70 pounds in college. Still have a butt; but no boobs at all!!! Always the first thing to go and the last thing to come back when I gain weight. Yay for push up bras?! OK sorry, tmi.

I lost 66pounds (30kgs) a few years ago, naught me has put back on like 18 of those pounds over the last 12 months (I blame being in a relationship for it!) I would really like to lose it again. Ahh yes my boobs were the first to leave as well LLH!

One more day of ac heck and then I don’t have to worry so much about if the pets are overheating. In addition to that, I am celebrating my 33 birthday with my fiancee and my family tomorrow, although the official day isn’t until Friday. Yay for some sort of small blessings coming because man we could use a break this month with the plumbing issue with my washing machine, the door not being able to shut and now the ac.

      Hazel- hope everything is alright

Weight Loss- honestly its the worst haha. I despise people who love working out lol. However I have lost about 20 pounds since January and the only way I could find to do it was (1) doing workout videos at my house (I am not a fan of gyms AT ALL and I hate running), (2) Just not having a lot of food in my house (I cannot stop myself from eating a whole bag of chips in one sitting while playing video games), (3) forcing myself to do it in the morning.

Quick question guys, Lilith’s 6 month bday is coming up which is kind of like a 16th birthday, so I want to make her some special treat and I have seen some posts on here about homemade cakes/cookies or whatever. Anyone have a good recipe . I cannot wait! Her two favorite cat friends are coming in town for it as well (my sister and her bf’s 2 cats). So I doubt she will be getting much sleep lol. It was pretty funny after the last weekend Lilith spent with the cats, she started walking kinda like a cat for a few days (no kidding like one foot in front of the other stalking style rather than the mini hops).

(((((((((((( Hazel and Hubby)))))))) I will be thinking about you both and hope everything is ok.

Thanks about congratulating me on my weight loss. Its been hard work. I do love to exercise that’s the easy part, the diet part has been a little harder. I know I have mentioned my love for pizza. I do allow myself a day a week to eat some kind of treat. Its weird some of the things I use to like don’t taste like anything or don’t interest me anymore. One thing I never gave up is my 1 Pepsi a day. I know soda drinking isn’t the greatest thing to do. I have always loved Pepsi. I even asked my doctor one time if it was ok for me to have 1 a day and he said he thought it was fine as long as it wasn’t several. My mom use to smoke and she would say that me drinking a Pepsi a day was just as bad. It isn’t. Oh and yes the boobs were the first to go. I don’t mind really.

Yes big butts are still in. I hear a lot about people getting butt implants. I think they are going to regret that when the fad runs out. The celebrities I have seen with those look weird to me.

Lee We love picking out names for rabbits. I will have to add my thoughts on that on your thread!

So Fluffy Bunny I hope you have a great birthday! I am sure you will be so happy when you get your ac going again. I hope you get all your issues fixed soon.

I spent a lot of effort to lose about 13 lbs over the last half of 2014, and I am slowly gaining it back. It’s so frustrating!! I mean, it *might* have something to do with the fact that I just ate an entire bag of chips for dinner and then followed it up with a Reese’s…oops. Food is so delicious! And while I love to run, I strained my knee after my last race so I’m being kinda sedentary now. I really have to watch it!

Bunnies continue to NOT bond at all. They no longer get out at all except when they are with each other, and then Pippin finds a corner to cower in and Fíli harasses him and then Pippin bites Fíli and then they chase each other until I can get in between. Sigh. But at least they can spend longer together without that happening?

Nora — longer is a good thing! Just curious, have you read Retrosquid’s bonding stories of his trio or Tanlover’s bonding website (now called thebunnychick.com)? They’re opposite strategies but might give you different things to try.

I hope you have a good birthday So Fluffy!

JR – Are you talking bad about me? =p  Go Team Manny!!!!

Exercising is hard. I work at an office now and all I do is sit there for most of the day. I could walk around the parking lot as a break, but I always feel creeped out. There are a lot of shady characters hanging around in the area. I would never go to the place I work after dark. =\ At my old job, I was up walking around through much of the day. There were always things to be done and you often had to walk the trails to get where you needed to be to do it. So at the very least, I got plenty of walking in there.

Food-wise, the french fries get me every time. *sigh* I have been trying to cut back on the soda, limiting myself to 1 per day if I can help it. Like I said, this whole not having a refrigerator thing has been very bad for me. Do you know how many french fries I’ve had in the last week?!

I’m here – sorry! Denny just left me with a couple of foils in my fringe for me to rinse out over the bath tub – my poor back! But I am much happier with the colour. And he cut my fringe properly – why did I go to the hairdresser’s and pay all that money??? No wonder I’m losing it!
Blair’s hospital appointments yesterday and this this morning went well – so pleased that’s done with! I was supposed to dust (DE-FLUFF) the furniture today, have I started? Nope! Oh, and Denny bought 2 weeks of washing for me to do for him while cutting Blair’s and the hubby’s hair, and left with 2 of my dining chairs for his little unit that he moved into last week-end. *SIGH*! I think I need for today to be over and I’ll start fresh again tomorrow???

Gosh! It looks like I missed out on all the fun??? No fair! Just gotta clean up and sweep the hair off the floor and I’ll be back to catch up.

PS – Yes, I have been left with only 3 dining chairs (cause HE broke one!)…. bloody kid’s!

I’m definitely on team Silence. I’m beginning to think Silence is Silence now, kind of like Manny will always be Manny no matter what =)

Today is Sweden’s most popular and thus important yearly holiday, Midsummer. It’s traditionally celebrated outdoors with wreaths of flowers, girls in summer dresses, Swedish flags, we eat fresh potatoes, pickled herring, strawberries and cream + drink schnapps. It’s raining and 12 degrees (53 F).

I remember you celebrating the day last year bam (or was it the year before?) and if I remember it was a cool day but luckily no rain??? The food and drink sound amazing – I hope you still get to enjoy it, indoors?

Sorry, I tried to get back on after I cleaned up and I couldn’t again…. I tried everything and could only get to the home page, DOH! It’s just after 8.30pm and I thought I’d try again before I switch off for the night, so pleased I did.

Oh Hazel, I am so sorry – and your telling me not to worry? Of course I am going to worry – I care about you! Whatever it is, I’m sending you both all my vibes to make it all better (((((((Hazel & hubby))))))). I am going to miss you terribly and I hope it’s not for to long, but I understand completely. HUG’S to both you and your hubby.

I am so sorry Lee for being away and missing out on all the fun – thing’s are a little (LOT) hectic here at the moment and I sometimes have trouble getting onto BB. But I am so happy that everyone has embraced you as I knew they would – didn’t I tell you that everyone here is the best ever! I class everyone on this thread as a genuine close friend that I wouldn’t be without – they are that wonderful! Talking of wonderful…. where is Moxie???

BTW JR…. I love the name Alice and Smokie’s song Alice and I even loved Alice on the Brady Bunch – but I didn’t love my hair looking like Alice’s on the show! Good grief! Honestly, as soon as I got home and looked in the mirror properly it just hit me that my hair looked liked Alice’s hairstyle – GASP! Lol!

Happy Birthday So Fluffy Bunny! I hope you enjoy today!!! 33? Yep, that’s still a good age…. I could still bend over without ‘groaning’! hahahaha!

And I have to laugh LB – don’t complain about Lilith walking like a cat till you see Henry who is ‘one of the dogs’, silly bunny! If he could bark I reckon he would, LOL! Oh and I’m the opposite Sindriona…. food is not my problem (I don’t really have a sweet tooth) it’s the exercise! I am active, but not in the tummy reducing exercise way. Actually, I just thought about it and food is a problem – I may not eat sweets but I eat a lot of fatty foods – savoury foods, naughty me! No wonder my belly is getting bigger than my boobies! I love hot chips (fries) too LBJ! *SIGH*!

Do NOT let JR fool you Lee – she is just as bad as the rest of us naming bunnies (notice how I tricked you into that, he he he he….) though LBJ is the name master! (so far….) We named a bunny Manny who’s mum calls him something else (Tucker or something? BLAH!), but we all (well, most of us, lol!) here still refer to him as Manny! And his mum (tanlover) knows it! LOL! It was WAR! Everyone (and I mean everyone!) HAD to take sides even declaring our ‘team’ on our avatar’s so everyone was clear who was a friend or the enemy. Even when someone (a friend BBer) posted, it was asked who side you were on before a reply was given, haha! It was one of the most fun we had on BB lasting weeks! We’ve also indulged in stealing other people’s bunnies (that was hilarious!), we were literally frantic stealing bunnies from people who already stole bunny’s from all over the world and sneaking them through airports and having secret hideouts. Gee…. and here I was saying I was weird??? I just realised, we ALL are! This is why I adore everyone on BB – who else has this much fun? My hubby used to think I was mad – not anymore! He just goes with the flow now….. LOL!

AH–Denny came and took YOUR furniture when his own is taking up a whole room in your house?! Hahaha what??!!

I like exercising too. I’m really loving running which I just started in October. Sorry you got injured after your race Nora I dread that happening. Eating right is super easy for me during the week. I do Weight Watchers and I can control myself M-F. But, I like to drink, so there goes the weekends!

bam Midsummer sounds amazing!!!!! I wish I could come celebrate! And I wish the weather was nicer for you.

Sorry Justina, I forgot to announce ‘Denny FINALLY came and took his furniture and STUFF’, YAY!!! Last weekend, and I have been struggling to clean the lounge room since – it’s NOT working BTW, I walk into the room, sigh and leave again. Ha ha ha! Today he came and left with clean washing and 2 of my dining chairs for the little table he has. Soooo…… I have 3 chairs – one for the hubby, Blair and me, ha ha ha ha! So if you want to visit it’s BYO chairs, ha ha ha ha! If I had of known I wouldn’t have bought him a wedding gift – I would have stuck the wedding card to the chairs! LOL!

And I have to laugh Justina, it’s Friday night here and I usually indulge in a glass (bottle?) of wine, he he he…… but the hubby and Blair are going to Dreamworld for Den’s buck’s day (the hubby won’t do the night thing – he’s such a slacko! I’d go, but I don’t think Den would appreciate having his mum with him??? Lol!) so I have the whole day to myself tomorrow and am saving my wine for then – fun fun! Hahaha!

No, I have never heard of them – surprised? Lol!

Bam Midsummer does sound like a fun holiday to celebrate. Sorry to hear the weather isn’t the best.

LBJ I use to get a small McDonalds fries almost every week in the past but I don’t know whats happened to them but to me they taste like nothing. I have bought them 2 separate times from two different locations over the past couple of months and they just didn’t taste like anything. So that ends that for me. I get the whole walking thing making you feel creeped out. my husband and I were walking at the park together but now he is running it and I walk alone and I get creeped out at times walking by myself when there are strange men hanging out around the walking path. It makes me feel uneasy.

LLH Its great that you have found running! That’s the key to sticking with exercise. You have to find something you love. I have just now started combining walking with running intervals. I am at the point I am walking the fastest I can so I stepped it up. I am not sure if I will become a runner. I do other exercise as well. I really like HIIT ( High intensity interval training). I do a lot of the Fitnessblender workouts on Youtbube. I also lift a couple of times a week.

Lee I am on team Silence as well. Have you finally decided on the name yet?

Oh and Nora I would take a good long break from bonding. My bonding thread is old not sure if you read it. I had to take a really long break when I was trying to bond. I think that break I decided to give up. There was that point. It was definitely needed. I cant recall how long it was. I want to say it was a couple of months. As bad as Usagi was towards Kilala I still cant believe that it took me so long to get them bonded and that I actually did it. Its took about 8 months in total. I feel for you. I wish I was there I would take over and do it for you. =) Just hang in there and take that break if you need anymore help or advice I am here for you.

I am off to get some things done here before I go in for my 2nd braces adjustment. I am kinda worried about this one. I wasn’t prepared for the pain of my first one. I thought I would be really sore afterwards but that wasn’t the case it hurt while they were taking off the bands. I couldn’t wait for everything to be tightened back up. I was thinking of getting red white and blue bands to celebrate the upcoming forth but I am still undecided. I am adventurous when it comes to colors. Take care everyone! Have a great day!

HAHAHA! Really that does sound like fun. I love that you guys named someone else’s rabbit and have refused to call it by its real name ever since, too funny. GO TEAM MANNY!

And yes you are all weird, but certainly no weirder than I, so I think we will all get along great!

Sindriona – Silence is the name I am stuck on it now, I love it.

BAM – Midsummer sounds amazing! Even if it also sounds cold (I dont do anything under 20degrees, which works out well right now as I live in a desert, I think it may have made 17degrees a few weeks ago when it rained…).

AH – A whole day to yourself! Wonderful, you can drink wine, cuddle with the furries and chat on BB! Bliss.

There is a big canine behaviour science conference on in the US this weekend, it is live streamed all over the world, I am supposed to be staying up to watch it, but it doesn’t start for another 3 hours (midnight our time) I dont think Im going to make it! Recording it is.

Wish I could get back into exercise, I just cant find the motivation I used to do really well, in fact there was a stage where I went to the gym 6 days a week! Then I dropped back which was fine, started hot yoga and running and that was great, and then I moved across the country and in with my partner and Ive become dead lazy. Must find motivation….I mean other than looking in the mirror lol!

LLH- I feel your weekend diet pains. Though I will say Gin and Tonics have cured a lot of that (no more dark beers haha )

Sindriona- hopefully its not too painful, I always heard the pain is pretty correlated to the skill of the dentist

AH- Glad it all went well, enjoy that day off with the love Henry (jealous)

I wanted to ask one more time, anyone have any bunny safe cookie/cake ideas for Lilith’s party this weekend? All of her furry friends are coming in town so we are celebrating early Super stoked. Beer, wine, and more drinks for adults and my friends, and top shelf water for Lilith and her 2 cat friends

OMG, I am exhausted. Boy, did I get some exercise today. =\

Bam – That sounds like such a fun holiday. I would love to see it in person. Too bad a trip to Europe is too expensive.

Sindriona – I used to like McDonalds french fries. I think they got into trouble for telling people their fries were vegetarian…. when they aren’t. But I thought they were going to change the kind of oil they use for “health reasons”. I love most french fries, as long as they have just the right amount of crispiness. Oh and the beer fries they have at a local BBQ joint. O….M….G….. talk about melt in your mouth goodness!
Oh that’s right, you got braces. How is that going? Sounds like it’s going pretty well.

Law Bun – No recipes, I don’t have the patience. But Leopold does like the pumpkin cookies from APD.

AH – Why not just give Denny your entire dining set and get a new on to go with your new chicken? My mom used to do that all the time. Until my dad got mad when she gave my brother the entire living room set and he made her sit on beanbag chairs for a year.

Oh and MANNY MANNY MANNY MANNY MANNY MANNY MANNY MANNY MANNY MANNY MANNY MANNY MANNY MANNY MANNY MANNY!

Im sorry JackRabbit I think I am going to have to go with Manny…..I am the new girl and I need to keep the majority happy hehe. But secretly (shhh) I do like Wucker and WuckWuck haha.

LBJ – I have a friend who no joke gets asked by randoms probably at least once every 2 – 3 months whether she is pregnant (she is not, never has been, likely never will). The poor girl, fairly sure she is on the brink of murdering the next person who asks her.

LBJ, what kind of exercise? The bean-bag story is great =)

I was actually on Team Wuck-Wucks for ethical reasons. Since our respected Tanlover had the audacity to NOT call Manny Manny and had already started calling him Tucker/Wuck-Wucks instead, I felt he had a right to that name. It was a pragmatic, ethically influenced decision on my part. Bunnies easily get bewildered and we can’t have that. So I was on Team T, even if I knew in my heart of hearts that the little sweetheart was, and is – Manny.

Lee, Team Tucker is a good, legitimate team as well. Let your heart guide you in these (important) decisions.

LBJ- exercise? Getting a new fridge? You can’t leave the expense in the air! And don’t fret about unflattering pictures! I survived 2 years of them and it just pushed me to keep on losing weight! Also, we are typically to critical of ourselves, I am sure its fine

Sindriona- My favorite fries are Bojangles or Chick Fil A. I specifically steer clear because french fries will ALWAYS be on the order, and likely large size. One of my many vices.

I thought I would pop on (since it’s been 4 days since I posted) and tell everybody I am still alive lol. Tuesday my niece and nephews and their mom come over (my brother couldn’t come due to work). They didn’t leave until yesterday (Friday). The slightly annoying part was that I like never see them because they live so far away, and like everyone in this little town (who some I don’t even really know at all) wanted me to come and babysit. I ended up babysitting Wednesday and Thursday. T.T
Anyway, right after the guests left yesterday morning I started to sicker and sicker. (maybe stress and sleep loss?) I was burning up and my eyes wouldn’t stop watering. My skin hurt when it was touched. My nose was stuffy, and my throat hurt SO BAD. I also had a headache. I was so weak I couldn’t stand up and if I did I got rushing in my head and almost fell down/passed out. I just rested on the couch from like noon until 10 at night and then I went to bed.
I feel a little better, But I am still a little weak and my throat still hurts bad so I can barely swallow. I was eating a Popsicle this morning to try and help my throat feel a little better. I had about a tablespoon of melted Popsicle I tried to swallow and almost choked myself. *sigh*

OH, Monday night I saw a baby fox when I was getting driven back home. It ran into the middle of the road but got spooked by us in the car and ran back off the road (and was luckily not hit). It was adorable. It’s mother was probably in the grass where we couldn’t see it.

Feel better Moxie! That really is the worst, not being able to do the things you want to/have to do because you just feel horrible. Rest up, Moxie, I can’t stand to hear one of my kiddos is sick!
Speaking of that, anyone seen TMS and MK lately? Where are your sisters Moxie?
OH! I saw your puppy thread previously, but I don’t think I commented? They are ADORABLE! Congrats Moxie! But two at once? You are ambitious!
Baby fox sounds adorable! There is a variety of wildlife around here, I’ve only seen a few foxes but the other day I saw what appeared to be a lemur? What the heck? Looked it up, wasn’t a lemur (obviously) but a “ringtail?” What? I also have to stop the car occasionally for a family of deer. Baby deer are so precious!

Lee – OMG, yes! It’s so freaking rude! Why would someone ask a complete stranger something like that? Ugh. Just makes me want to cry every time it happens (and it does!)

Law Bun – Yeah, I have become more and more unhappy, but it seems that every time I try to do something about it I’m met with failure. Exercising is becoming increasingly difficult for me. It’s more than just being out of shape, but it’s sort of hard to explain.

Bam – I was doing a service learning project with a summer camp. We had to walk over a mile to get to a creek. Then we had to walk up and down the creek picking up litter. Then we had to walk over a mile back. It was warm out, sun was shining, no shade, I was pretty warm. LOL I felt like I had been hit by a train when I got up this morning. My legs were wobbly. =\

Aww Moxie, I’m sorry. I hope you feel better. Your symptoms sounds kind of scary though. Did you see a doctor?

LEL – OMG, I love ring-tailed cats (not really cats). So incredibly cute!!! I wish we had them here, you’re lucky.

Ringtail as in ringtail possum? We have those here in Aus. We used to have one living in the roof of our cubby house.

OH now LBJ! I have no idea how anyone thinks it is appropriate to ask that! I have a client in one of my classes who was obviously pregnant but I didn’t mention it at all or even ask about it until she had bought it up herself, just in case! I have no idea how anyone is comfortable asking or saying things like that!

Moxie – A ring-tailed cat. They are related to raccoons are are native to the southwest US and Mexico. They have striped tails that look like ring-tailed lemurs, but lemurs are primates and native to Madagascar.

LLH – Well, we already had the bean bag chairs. They were really popular when I was a kid and my brother and I both had one in our rooms. When my brother moved out, my mom let him take the living room set with him. My dad was mad so they got the old bean bag chairs out of the basement and plopped them in the living room. They stayed there for a year.

Urgh. We have fleas again. The poor buns. I don’t know if they’re coming in cause the neighbors don’t treat their dogs (likely… they let them roam all over the neighborhood and stay outside all night, so I doubt they buy advantage or anything) or because it’s nearly impossible to keep mice out of this house (there are cracks in the foundation, the floors have a 1″ or so gap between them and the floor IN EVERY ROOM). I flea combed them tonight and Stickers fur is so thick I have to feel for the little bugs with my fingers, so she was all grumpy (you may not touch the queen unless she says so) and thumped to let me know she was not pleased once I put her down. lol Powder just ran over like “You gonna pet me some more? Huh? Huh? PET ME!” Why can’t all bunnies be like him?

Stickerbunny Fleas are the worse. I always worry that my bunnies are going to get them from our other pets so I always make sure to give them their flea drops on time. Fleas are going to be bad this year with all the rain we have had.

LBJ I think maybe McDonalds did away with their transfats already perhaps that’s why the fries don’t taste the same anymore. My son agrees with me about the fries tasting differently.

Law Bun I wish we had a Bojangles here but we don’t. I remember eating there a long time ago when I lived in Virginia. There is a Popeye’s chicken in Fort Smith they make good chicken and fries. I haven’t had any in a long time though.

My second adjustment went okay it was better than the first. They are using the same wire as last time. I kept the same color bands which are a pretty light teal color. I didn’t have a lot of time to choose my color this time. I need to go back in and have a wire cut that I didn’t notice was poking me. Other than that I wasn’t sore afterwards at all.

I think someone was talking about possums earlier? I am trying to get caught up on chat. I was in the park a few weeks ago. Its not normal to see a possum in the day time. I was rounding a corner and here came this big possum. I told my husband I was scared of him. He probably had rabies or something. He had his mouth open and he was all messy looking. I said we need to walk faster. My husband was teasing me that he was chasing me. He said really he is chasing you. It was picking up speed and running right at me. I have to admit I started running. I don’t usually get scared of things like that but he looked scary. I didn’t realize how fast a possum can run.

Sidriona that sounds scary! I don’t know about possums in the US but in Australia some are very aggressive! Although they wouldn’t chase you, they run away/hide but will mess you up if you touch them or corner them. I think you may have been right about it being rabid being that it was out in the middle of the day and chasing you! Thankfully we dont have rabies here!

Sindriona a opossum did this? Wow. I say wow because it’s very rare to see one with rabies. In the all the time of recording keeping, there have been very few cases (single digits) of confirmed rabid opossums. They can get rather nasty though when cornered. They will hiss, drool, and try to look unappetizing. I would occasionally see them out during the day eating bird seed when food was scarce.

My husband had assumed it had rabies. I guess it was just disoriented perhaps because we had a lot of rain and some flooding maybe he was trying to find a new home to go to. It was acting weird and had its mouth was open like maybe it was panting? Even if it didn’t have rabies I have never seen a opossum run as fast as he did and towards me. hehe
I once had a friend in high school call me over to her house because she said she found the cutest little creature and put it in a shoebox. She opened the box and it was a baby opossum. It wasn’t very pleased at being caught. It did bite her and then fell over dead. Her family took her and it to the hospital and had it tested for rabies. That’s my only other type of interaction with one.

Yeah, they are not known for their speed. Usually they are just waddling along.

Well, we ordered our refrigerator. =\ We have to go back to apply for financing though.

I also identified two Eurasian collared doves in my parents’ backyard today. There are just two of them, but my mom keeps feeding them. Hopefully more don’t show up.

I liked a few songs on the radio and looked them up on youtube and discovered who they were….. the songs are Somebody To You and Oh Cecillia and Wild Heart.

Gosh, it is after midnight…. I better get myself off to bed – I think I got everything done that I had to do today? Probably not….. *sigh*! Lol!

ChaCha: Allergies are a pain. I mowed the grass yesterday and stepped on an ant hill. I didn’t avoid it because it was supposed to be dead. Turns out they moved back in. I’m allergic to ant bites, among other things, so getting bit 10 times wasn’t great. Couldn’t even take my allergy meds afterwards, that stuff makes me so tired and we were going to watch The Whispers. So I expected my foot to double in size, but it didn’t get too bad. I guess I’m getting used to it.

Is it okay for me to freak out a little? My husband has literally disappeared. His phone, wallet, keys, etc are here. Both vehicles are here. I have looked in every room in the house. He’s not here. The front door is ajar. I remember he was taking the recycling out, but then he didn’t come back inside. I thought maybe he was in the garage or something, but he’s been gone for awhile now. I looked outside, no one is in the garage. I looked down the street and could not see anyone. Where did he go?!

I finally just got in the car to go look for him. Found him a few blocks over. I asked him where he had been since it had been an hour. He said he was trying to figure out where this annoying base thumping “music” was coming from. He ended up in the next neighborhood over and still couldn’t find the source (I think these people were driving around). Then he realized how far away he was and was getting tired walking back. He thought about calling me to come get him, but he had left his phone in the house. o_O

I just totally revamped the “bunny area”…I think it’s Sarita that said Bobby’s home base is in kind of a closet area? I just moved everything out of our front hall closet that normally houses coats and shoes and moved the bunny base station in!! Happy wedding to Denny (and you too Andi)!

OMG, yes, guys it was freaky. I did become a little paranoid. What if he was hurt somewhere? I had no clue where he was and I couldn’t call him. I don’t normally get all worried like that, but it was just so weird for him to disappear like that in the dark. =\

Moxie – I knew a few people who joined the military after high school. I couldn’t understand why they would do something like that. In fact, one of my close friends joined the Navy after we had made plans to live together after high school. There was no such thing a facebook back then. At least you will be able to see pictures of him and keep in touch a little better than I could with my friend.

This is my collection of boxes for Si! Hahaha.

And this is where I have decided to set up his downstairs hangout…it isn’t huge but it is right next to my desk (I work from home) so he can hang out next to me while I work, and it is also nice and cozy away from the dogs (it is under the stairs…maybe I should call him Harry Potter haha). I just need to work out how best to block off the area so he can’t get out.

Lee can you get Neat Idea Cubes (NIC) in Australia? You would be able to shape and mold Si’s enclosure however you want! I totally think you should call him HP!!!! hahahaha I LOVE Harry Potter. No I looked to see if we could get the NIC cubes here and the only way would be to purchase them from the US or UK on Amazon and ship them here, which is very expensive. But I had a look and if I get a slightly smaller play pen than the ones I already have it will slot in nicely along that edge of the stairs and along the back wall a bit so he has less base board to nibble on and zip tie it all together. And I just need a length of wood the right size to block of the opening under the bottom stair and it is all set

      Haha, Im still loving Si(lence)

I don’t think I’ve been swimming for a few years. Hmm, when was the last time? I’m wanting to say we were on vacation somewhere… but it wasn’t our last vacation which was a couple of years ago. We went to Colorado and I remember we brought our suits. But the hotel pool was overrun by kids. I mean that literally too, I don’t know how they all fit in there. =\

I used to pick mulberries at work all the time. They were free food for some of the animals. I used to pick prickly pears too. LOL

Wow, not much going on. We’re supposed to go to my in-laws later today (see above) and I’m not sure if my husband still wants to go.

We haven’t been swimming yet because of busy schedules, moving so we have to travel like 30 miles just to go to the lake. And going to the ocean would be several hours of driving. =/

It has been raining ALL DAY! *sigh* We live in a place with bad flooding, because there is drainage problems for the culvert(is that what they are called?). Getting about an inch of rain means the property is literally like up to your ankles. Except for the few spots that are slightly higher so the water just goes elsewhere. =/

Moxie – A culvert usually refers to a large concrete or metal pipe that goes underneath a road or other obstacle so that the water in a ditch, drainage way, or small stream can flow under the road and come out on the other side.

It’s been too cold and dreary here for the beach, which has been a bummer. I mean, I know I’m spoiled with the weather, but I would like to feel like it’s summer! Today was nice though, hopefully it will stay nice enough to fit in some beach time next weekend. I just got a big chop on my hair so I am feeling very summery! It’s quite short–just a little past my chin–and after having ~2 feet of hair for a few years, it feels crazy! (I had an in-between long lob for the past couple months, easing into the shorter one.)

Bonding with Fíli and Pippin is still going quite slowly with lots of setbacks, but I’ve also got pretty good about taking care of them separately (converted the hallway/kitchen into another bunny area so they can both be out and get exercise) so I am not in a rush. I just have to believe that it will happen! It gets discouraging sometimes since they are both such stubborn little idiots, but I think they are beginning to unite in hatred of me.

Also I managed to clip both their nails today! That was a really hard task for me and so finally mastering it (mostly involving not being scared to man-handle them) feels good. Plus it will save me about $30 every couple months!

Sorry it has taken me so long to post these, I knew I wouldn’t be well the next day, lol! but it’s been 4 days and I am still struggling – I think my body is catching up and I haven’t been well. I hope that’s all it is and I’m not getting sick? Good grief! Thank you so much to everyone who wished us all well, and I love that you all loved my hair – I was so worried about it, hahaha! The wedding was wonderful! And YES! I cried!!! Hahaha….. I really didn’t think I would cause I was so happy, but I did! I still have the tissue that caught and wiped all my tears (and 80% of my make up, lol!). We then went out and partied afterwards at ‘the Beat’ (Lee should find that funny) and we made the day last into the next – you will be proud of me Hazel, I had drinks for ME and YOU! And I promise you, the hubby and I won’t be doing that again, we were both super sick the next day – you’d think that would teach us? Probably not??? Haha! So lets hope now we can get back to normal boring us again…. I had no idea how much effort it took just being the family of the groom. We even had to make a trip into town to return Blair’s suit this morning – and yes I checked it and was surprised we were able to return in perfect order – huh? Lol! You should have seen Blair – he had a blast and made the day/evening as much about him and the newly married couple. He mingled and talked (I’m not sure anyone understood him, but everyone was amazingly polite and friendly towards him) to everyone and made sure everyone knew HE was Denny’s brother.

Edit to ADD – And thanks to Blair’s bright orange tie, he stood out in the photo’s and we didn’t lose him once that day/night!

Your hair must feel light and wonderful Nora – I had about 3 inches taken off mine and because it is still at my shoulder’s I didn’t think it would make much of a difference, but it did! It feels light and fresh, and a bit less to shampoo, hahaha. I’m sorry thing’s aren’t working out as you had planned with Fili and Pippin, but I know you will get there – I believe in you!

And yes Justina, bam was right… I have been giving Henry mulberry’s and the leaves since we got him over 2 years ago. I actually started a thread when I was new and asked the question and was told the leaves were quite healthy for bunnies. So I was super happy – obviously. I just wished I didn’t plant it right next to my clothesline – DOH! Silly me! Lol!

You know it’s funny Moxie and LBJ…. I have a pool that I nagged for and I don’t think I went for a swim at all last summer??? LOL! Our Summer was so hot and humid it was more pleasant to stay inside with Henry and the dog’s with the A/C on. And I agree about the weather! I know it’s Winter here and I hate the cold, but what is getting me down is that for the last 2 weeks it has been grey skies and rain which is really depressing day after day, week after week. I just want/need the sun to shine and blue skies again. If I could spent every miserable day snugged up in bed I wouldn’t mind… sigh! Lol!

Super happy to see you back Hazel!!! I hope whatever is causing concern is getting better? I am still worried though – I hate knowing something isn’t as it should be… Still sending all my vibes to you both.

And I had to laugh JR when you said you were looking for the ‘like’ button, hahaha. When I posted above I hit ‘enter’ and wondered why it didn’t post??? Idiot me then remembered to hit ‘submit’! Silly us! Ha ha ha ha ha

No way was I picking Henry up for a wedding photo after we were dressed LB, hahaha! We got dressed in the lounge room (the room Henry is NOT allowed in) so our clothes would be fluff free for ONE day! And Henry spent his first night ever home alone – he’s such a grown up boy now! I bet he didn’t even miss us? Dam bunny!

      Lol!

LLH – Glad they liked them.

Nora – I’m sure things will eventually work out. Those stubborn bunnies just need to realize how much trouble they could get into TOGETHER. Hehe!

AH – Your pictures are beautiful. What a lovely wedding! I’m glad Blair had fun too.
Can I say this? I keep looking at the pictures with Denny in them and thinking I should draw a little mustache on him. The tux and his hair makes him look a little like Gomez Addams. LOL OMG, did I just say that? I’m so bad!

I know how you feel Moxie about life being so stressful with so much to do. I hope I only have to take Blair for his MRI this Thursday and I am hoping for a positive outcome and I can get back to having some me time again. I hope life gets simpler for you too. I sometimes have logged on to BB and by the time I have a read and relax I am so exhausted and my brain frazzled I can’t think to post anything that makes sense, lol!

I ordered Henry’s hay, pellets and some litter and due to the free delivery deal wasn’t expecting to receive it till late this week – it came this morning, YAY! I have never used litter for Henry before, so this will be fun – trial and lot’s of error’s??? Lol!

And did you end up going to your inlaws today LBJ??? If you did, I hope it was enjoyable. And how is your fridge shopping going? Any luck yet??? I still can’t imagine you coping without a decent sized proper working fridge, good grief! You have been remarkably patient about it – I would have frantic after a day! Just goes to show how good you are!

I am super happy your back on BB MissG!!! Sorry but I laughed to when you said Ox bit you on the bum, hahaha! Thanks, I really needed a laugh today!

LOL LBJ!!! That is tooo funny and no need to apologise or feel bad for saying that about Den’s stache – you of all people know what we are like, we love a good laugh, especially at ourselves!!! And that dam stache gave us all a good laugh for the longest time! I know his wife (I still chuckle when I say his wife, lol!) doesn’t like it, so I wonder if he will bring it back to life as he promised??? LOL!

AH – I’m gonna have that stache stuck in your head now! LOL

Yes, we went and it was fine. A little boring, but fine. We had to lock the basement door to keep my nephew from going down there. My husband is doing work for them and there are wires and tools and torn down ceiling tiles everywhere.
The fridge is ordered. The one my husband wanted wasn’t in stock. We have to go back to apply for the financing. They are running a special starting on July 1st, but they said we could go ahead and order the fridge ahead of time and then wait to apply for the financing when it started. Plus it will be on sale and we will get the sale pricing.

Yep. A big angry chomp right on the bum. Then he had the nerve to flick his feet and me and hide away in his house! He was not happy with me at all.

The wedding looks lovely, Andi! I do miss Den’s dapper stache though. He should regrow it. And now you have your lounge to yourself again! No more stuff!

I haven’t gone swimming for ages. I’ve had opportunities but I don’t really like swimming with children or people that I don’t know so I tend to turn them down.

You guys can all have my Summer. I’m wishing for Fall to hurry and get here. I can’t stand this heat.

AH if you never used litter before what did you use?

And anyone that wants to come swimming you can come over! It’s 115 daily right now!

That stache will always be embedded in my head LBJ – I used to call it his mate/friend, hahaha! Do NOT encourage him MissG, lol! He was thrilled when you said you liked it – I think you were one of two of my friends who did, hahaha!
And YES – I have my lounge room back!!! You have no idea how excited and relieved I was – a ‘clean’ ‘room to move’ space again! But it’s true, no matter how silly it sounds, I use that as my clean bunny fluff free zone. Even now, I am not ready to do the folding and I have the clean washing sitting in there knowing it won’t get covered in fluff, hahaha! OH! And Blair has room to dance again now – no wonder he danced the night away at Den’s wedding – he hasn’t danced in months! Lol!

That is FANTASTIC about your fridge LBJ! I know it is annoying having to wait for them to get it in, but it’s what you and the hubby want (it’s a big purchase, you have to get it right!) and the sale price and finance deal is AWESOME! How good of them to do that for you – I bet our sales people wouldn’t do that for us here…. sigh! On Saturday we raced into the City to check out and buy a new lounge (sofa) while it was on sale and because of the colour we chose we had to order it and have been told it’s made and coming from China and we have to wait 3 ‘months’, WTH??? ‘3 months’? I am no longer excited over it as 3 months feels forever away. And yes, we bought it on interest free finance – couldn’t afford it otherwise…. and we needed it – the one we have, Blair’s butt almost hits the floor cause it was very cheap and nasty (poor quality crap!) and Blair being heavy and sitting in the one spot. I made sure to ask that this new one will do the job and support him for more than a few years…. we’ll see, *SIGH*! It better! It was expensive, but got it at a good ‘on sale’ price, almost half price, making it sorta affordable. But we got charged for it straight away which is wrong considering I’ll be making payments for 3 months without having it – sad face! The hubby wanted to look elsewhere, but I really liked this one – I am sick of buying stuff that costs a lot and your not really happy with it……

I feel cheap and nasty saying this BM14, but we used a layer of newspaper and then topped it with shredded paper – he won’t eat his hay in his toilet, lol! You have to remember when we first got Henry we had NO idea and I didn’t meet BB for a couple of months after when I was desperately trying to find out how to stop him from spraying and weeing on us on the bed, hahaha! DER…. de-sexing! Who knew? Not me! Ha ha ha ha ha…..
The shredded paper (our mail, lol!) was working brilliantly, but we can’t keep up with demand, lol! Why I went for the litter when I placed his food order. I took a short cut – I know you guys talk about all these different types of litter which went straight over my head – doh! So I asked Roberta to go on the website that I buy his hay and food from and tell me which litter to buy – she did and I had my order placed in half an hour! I’m not sure if Roberta will see this, but I keep telling everyone how amazing she is, cause she IS!!! I can’t thank her enough for everything she has done for me and Henry keeping it stress free and easy.

Andi! Looked like you had an amazing day, such beautiful photos. I am so pleased you enjoyed it.
LOL! THE BEAT! HAHAHHAHAHA oh dear! Although probably more fun in a gay club than in a regular club, I think personally I would find it more fun. I can’t believe you stayed out and partied all night, you bad bad girl you! I’m 27 and I can’t remember the last time I stayed up all night haha, Im so old!

Just purchased the first of my bunny stuff, all the boring stuff though.
2 x litter trays (upstairs and downstairs)
      Litter (recycled paper)
      Litter scoop
Puppy pee pads (these are mostly for the travelling we have to do to get home, bottom of his travel crate etc).
      And a Y cat tunnel

I am pretty much going to buy everything else while we are in Perth.

Question for those experienced, would those ‘cat towers’ be ok for a bunny? There is one in KMART this is 60cms tall, has 2 platforms and a little hidey hold with 2 exits, I feel like it would be a perfect little bunny play house. It is covered in what looks like a fleece type material though…..would that be ok? Or would bunny chew and ingest stuff off it? It just seems so perfect with little platforms to hang out on and a ‘cave’ with 2 exits.

WEEEEE this time next week I will be meeting Si and picking him up!!

My bun loves his cat hidey tower. Although mine is a chewer so he only gets to play with it supervised. I just have a one level thing that has a hole so he can go inside and he jumps on top of it but it’s made of carpet and he loves to chew carpet so…

I knew you would get a laugh out of that Lee, ha ha ha! The last time I went to the Beat was 19 years ago and it is still going! I wanted to go to the Victory, my favourite night spot (again, a good 15+ years ago…), but it was my daughter and her fiancé that took us to the Beat – we just jumped in the taxi with them, hahaha! And OMG!!! I am 47 – a good 20 years older than you (your the same age as my daughter) and I still can’t believe we partied the night through? We were ALL so sick the next day and even the day after, haha!

Super excited that your getting Si next week! I remember waiting for Henry – I couldn’t believe I was finally getting a bunny after wanting one since I was in my early 20’s, so I know how you feel. With the cat tower…. the hubby and I see them and always think of buying one – the only reason why we haven’t is cause we have enough bunny crap overtaking our house. We have more bunny crap than we do human crap! If you don’t believe me? Justina (LLH) is bringing her own dining chair when she comes visit me, ha ha ha ha!

And YES BM14 – everyone here rocks! I am the perfect bunny mum thanks to everyone! Henry lives an amazing life thanks to BB! But I still say I got the best of BB – you guys! My friends! Oh, and throw in 3 stolen daughter’s! Ha ha ha ha ha!

You’ll just want to be careful with the height part. Some bunnies are cautious but some are more mischievous and will try and jump off of high things and can hurt themselves. Cottontail can attest to that!

Oh yes the Beat has been around for so long! The Victory has been rebuilt sometime in the lat few years, it burnt down in a fire I think maybe 5 years ago…maybe less actually. So it is all new.
I would be sick the next day if I partied the night away! My body doesn’t do all nighters anymore haha. We went to Thailand last year and I was dead set the most boring person, I hate partying lol.

Andi – I feel like the last week has gone SO SLOW! I cannot wait to meet him. I just saw a pic of his brother and OMG he is gorgeous, I have asked for an updated photo of Si, I cant wait to get it, I bet he is just flippin adorable now. THankfully this week should fly by, we drive down to Perth on Wednesday, get to Perth on Thursday arvo, have a free day Friday, the weekend is all dog training seminary and then on Monday we pick him up! Yay.

Awesome, I think I will get the cat tower, it seems like something fun and easy, I will just make sure to watch him initially with it to make sure he doesnt eat any carpet or jump off the high platforms!

I know what you mean about crap, although most of mine is dog crap hahah! Im sure soon it will be dog and bunny crap!

I have to laugh Lee, except for the dog beds (that Henry owns or shares with the dog’s) we don’t have any doggy crap. Our dog’s are dedicated human companions spending their days with us and nights in bed with us, hahaha! As I sit here now at my desk in the kitchen/diner, Henry, George and Frank are laying on the dog bed behind me, hahaha! Henry is laying in the middle this time, lol! He’s a funny bunny (STRANGE!). Yep, the only crap we have covering the floors is all Henry’s and it’s mostly cardboard! The best past of that… once it gets covered in fluff, we chuck it out! No doggy stuff anywhere…. poor babies! Lol!
Yes, I heard about the Victory fire – another reason why I wanted to return, to see if they classed it up? I loved how raw it was back in my day (that’s how you know your old – when you say ‘back in my day’ – good grief! LOL!). I met my hubby at the Victory on my 29th birthday and invited him to Rosie’s (night club) when they closed at 3am (?).

PS – MY body doesn’t do all nighter’s anymore – but my head (at the time) says otherwise, GASP!

And yes, take care with the height thing…. just cause a bunny can jump high, doesn’t mean they can jump down from height. Cheer’s BM14, I wouldn’t have thought to mention that…. so pleased you did! BIG smile!

Andi – oh my dogs are dedicated human companions too! They are inside 99% of the time, they sleep with us, hang out with us all day and night. I work from home so they are with me all day, Phi comes to classes with me. I just happen to spoil my dogs. They have 3 beds, plus the couch, and storage boxes full of dog blankets, I have multiple crates (for camping etc), play pens (these I use mostly when fostering or for training), boxes of dog treats, toys, I think I own about 10 dog collars (dog collars are like my version of shoes), harnesses, grooming stuff etc etc hahaha. Also because I am a dog trainer I have gear for work as well so that takes up more space!

I have literally been collecting every piece of cardboard I could since I decided I was bringing Si home haha. I have a huge pile of boxes!

I haven’t been to the Vic since the fire, I wonder if it is any better these days haha, I have a naturally dislike for it. I was very much a Gold Coast girl back in my heyday (when I was 18/19 got over it after that). So for me Rosies was the Rose n Crown until they closed it down to build the new Soul tower (devastated when they did that), I love the Coast.

Both my head and my body refuse to do all nighters now lol.

I will ensure I watch him closely to make sure he isn’t a dare devil!

BTW – new photos of Si! SQUEEEE taken today. My little two tone man.

OMG Si is adorable! I’m stealing him. Sorry not sorry.

Not having a fridge is such a pain! I’m glad you were able to get such good deals while getting yours, LBJ! Our fridge pooped out over a year ago and I hated not having one. Lucky for us, it was a cold Winter and we were able to store things in the garage. I don’t know what we would have done if it stopped working when it was warm out.

How do you like being a dog trainer, Lee?

Oh NO, Lee! How is it even possible to be that insanely cute??

Andi, the wedding pics are beautiful! It seems like a great wedding! Us BBers have such a lot to thank Den for, since he was the one who gave you Henry and Henry is the greatest “dam bunny” there is =) I liked Dens stache but I can see how he couldn’t really “wear it” to his wedding. I’m very impressed with you for staying up all night!

LOL Lee! Our dog leads are stiff! They haven’t been used for so long – our dog’s (they are very old now) get their exercise from running to the front door to see ‘who’s there’? Lol! They don’t even wear dog collars (they are registered with council) and as far as grooming… they go to the hairdressers every quarter (more than ME!) hahaha – I’m such a lazy pet parent! Our dog’s are so bad…. you throw a ball for them and they just look at you as if to say ‘nup, you threw it, you get it!’, lol! No wonder Henry is so ignorant! I wish I knew you when our dog’s were pup’s – some training wouldn’t have gone astray…. DAM dog’s! Ha ha!

Yep, I getcha! When we go to the Gold Coast we hang out at the Casino, but I have to admit, we haven’t been in years. BUT I am a huge fan! I have to remember the GC is easier for you to get to than us – just like the Sunshine Coast is up the road from us. OMG – you have no idea how amazing it is to talk to someone who knows what I am talking about – only you would know that the Beat is the longest running gay bar in Brissy that is visited by ‘everyone’ for their awesome music – 80’s to now with an extra beat!

This reminds me of when Amanda (LEL) and I chatted throughout the night (ages ago) once and everyone (LBJ!) told us to get a room, hahaha – but it made for fun reading, LOL! And I think everyone got a good laugh…. I hope you don’t find this strange Lee, but I have made the bestest friends on BB, why I trust everyone with anything I’m not sure about, can’t wait to share anything fun and know if crap hits the fan everyone will have my back.

AND OMG!!! Isn’t Si precious!!! You are SO lucky!!!

@Gabbster – No you cannot have him! I have been waiting for this for soooo long!

I love it! It has its moments, it can be frustrating, it can be sad, but most of the time it is great. I have loads of awesome clients whose successes just make my day.

I know BAM! How adorable is he, and I bet photos don’t even do him justice.

QUESTION: For those of you with Bunnies and dogs….how did your rabbits initially react to your dogs? Do they get stressed out by the smell? When we travel home with Si, we will have one of my dogs with us as well. So he will be travelling in the travel crate, covered with a towel to make it nice and dark (aircon cranked) but will be in the backseat with the dog, they won’t be able to see each other, but obviously he will be able to smell and hear her. Is this going to freak him out?

Back up MissG! You can’t steal him…. YET! Lol!

And yes bam, ha ha ha – Denny is part of our BB family! And he knows it!!! That was one of the things I said in my speech – that he was a funny bugga and good value! I also said a little bit of soppy stuff and I cried AGAIN! OMG! I can’t believe I kept crying! LOL! I mentioned my mum, his grandma not being here and I couldn’t stop crying and my daughter walked up, took the speech out of my hand and read that part out – isn’t she amazing! I can’t tell you how proud I am of my kiddies – that reminds me!!! MOXIE! I gave Denny a hug from you! I said this extra squeeze is from your bunny sister Moxie! He looked at me and laughed – he knows how important you are to me. Another reason why my kid’s are awesome – they tolerate me! Lol!

Lee, I don’t know how my first bunny reacted to my dog, he had no choice but to accept her scent. I found him and he had to go home in the dog-crate and then he lived in a cardboard box for like a week. The dog was of course genuinely interested, but she’s a good dog, 3 ys at the time, and she’s had lots of obedience training (which of course is a breeze with a German Shepherd dog). After a few months Bam got to be free roam 24-7 and it’s never been a problem even when Bam fell in love with her and pestered her all day long until I had him neutered. He even nipped her so she yelped.

My second bunny was even less of a problem. By then my dog was used to a bunny family member. I don’t think Yohio has ever been scared of her.

I don’t know if they have an innate fear of dog smell. Or if it’s all about conditioning.

AH’s Henry probably thinks he is a dog =) But then Henry is fearless like Tamerlane.

Haha! Im sure your old dogs don’t mind not going for a walk! My old girl loves walks but her body doesn’t really handle them very well anymore, so we only walk short stuff a couple times a week, otherwise she hangs at home, we play games etc. Haha! Both of my dogs ‘fetch’ but they are much more active dogs than your two! People get so stuck on the ‘dogs need lots of exercise’ or the ‘you need to walk your dog everyday’ thing, when in truth that is rarely the case, walking isn’t the be all and end all of a dogs exercise or mental stimulation. Just spending time with us can be more fun and rewarding for a dog than a walk is. Most dogs who have big issues are the dogs who spend their whole life living like garden gnomes, out in the yard, rarely interacted with, never inside. All the dogs who spend a lot of time inside like yours tend to be pretty well behaved, don’t destroy stuff all the time etc.

The last time I went to the Coast was February LAST year (2014)! This was when I was still living in Bris and my partner was visiting me from over here. We went to catch up with some of his friends, I got very drunk hahaha, that was a funny ride home.
I ADORE the sunny coast! I could totally live there, if I could convince Tim (my OH) to! I love Maleny too, omg so beautiful. I actually would choose the SC over the GC any day of the week, but like you said, previously it was sooo far for me to drive, GC was much easier.

I don’t find it strange at all! Some of my good friends on FB now days are people I met years ago on dog forums! In fact I have gone on to meet many of them in person and chat to them regularly. This is an easy way of meeting people who share my interests!

He is SO precious, I am dying the wait is taking too long! NO ONE IS STEALING MAH BUNNEH!
