Hi Layla and welcome to BB. People use “topic” and “threads” sort of synonymously. I couldn’t find the post you are talking about specifically, but it looks like you have created your own topics, which is the best route for keeping BB forums active and to ensure you have the best chance of getting a response. A couple reasons why someone may say to create your own topic/thread:

1) You have replied to an old topic/thread, so the likelihood you’re looking at outdated information and will not get a response is very high; thus, we recommend you create your own topic/thread.

2) You have brought up another issue within a topic/thread, so rather than lumping both questions within one topic/thread, you make a new one so you can get more focused responses.
