What kind of flooring is it? Carpet? Or wood?

I’ve had the best luck with a big piece of plywood with vinyl tiles stuck on top. I ended up using these tiles that are similar to what they use in hospitals and industrial type places. Then some blankets or grass mats for traction. On carpet I have also used those hard plastic carpet protectors that go under office chairs, but they are kind of weird shaped.
