The yearly booster is still recommended for the Medgene vaccine, not sure why they don’t have that up there!

Hi there, thanks for the background info!
So my impression is that doing a period of just side-swaps would help, since you mentioned you just swapped them for the first time recently. Usually I like to do side swaps for at least a week or two before doing full-on bonding sessions. I think maybe a brief pause with just side swaps could lower the…[Read more]

Let’s not forget that bunnies are notorious for being sick, you take them the vet, they act normal there, and then the vet wonders what all the fuss was about. But yes, it seems maybe the belly massage is what he needed and it got things back in order. I have not heard of this happening specifically, but you never know. I mean, such therapy exists…[Read more]

Yes!! I’ve had the thought that something was kinked after his surgery for a while now but never had solid proof.
OMG. His energy today has been fantastic, he’s like a baby bunny again!! For months his hopping around has been more like lumbering, lol. But this weekend and especially today he MOVES. Dare I say he’s zooming!! He’s a brown blur when…[Read more]

Hmm… it’s possible that the vet moved something. Perhaps something was “kinked” a bit. Not causing a blockage, but enough of a disruption to cause things to get hung up in one spot. Since his x-rays just showed food, I imagine this “bloated” look was not due to gas. So, I guess hypothetically speaking, it may not be a huge stretch to think held…[Read more]

That’s very helpful. Still really far away.
I don’t see anything on that page about yearly booster shots, do you know if that’s no longer considered necessary?

Not sure if you’ve come across this already, but the HRN keeps a list of vets with the vaccine: https://rabbitors.info/us-rabbit-resources/us-rhdv2-vaccination-resources/
If that fails, my next step would be to reach out to rescue orgs in your area. They may be working on vaccine clinics, or may know of vets who either have it or are willing to order it.

Hi all –
For context, last week Benjamin was acting less himself (not as hungry for Emeraid, hiding more often) and he lost a little weight. I took him to the vet on Friday. Just before we left for the vet I found mold near where I dry out his syringes when I feed him emeraid. I removed the mold completely and got him new syringes and all…[Read more]

I’ve called various places and can’t find it or any leads. So if you are in this area, including neighboring states to the SW and know of vets that carry it (so that I can avoid a 4 hour drive), please let me know

Oh man I feel you! The spraying is nuts sometimes. As early as it seems, he is right on time, as puberty can start as early as 12 weeks.
I think a good temporary solution would be to set up an exercise pen (or two) linked up to his hutch that is lined with a waterproof flooring, and even some blankets, towels, or shower curtains hung on the pen…[Read more]

Hello,
Anyone ever feel like the sweet baby bunny stage is just too short? I feel like I just brought our little Peppy home, everything was going perfectly, and then puberty hit. He is a Netherland Dwarf and only 3.5 months old. There is only one vet in my area who works with rabbits, and they said we need to wait a couple of more months before…[Read more] -
