The poops really do look a lot better!
1 year and 4 months is a bit young for full blown dental root issues, but it could happen. Does he have a very flat face? Flat faced buns are a lot more prone due to the limited space in the oral cavity.

Poops look much better!
I think that full x-rays (including his head) are a good idea. Sometimes gastric pain (such as gas) can mimic dental pain, because the bun just isn’t feeling very hungry. But since he’s eating everything else AND they saw that laceration in his mouth it really does sound like a dental issue. It really is very hard for them…[Read more]

They did not sedate him or do x-rays. The vet checked as far back in his mouth as possible with a speculum, said did not see any issues.
The poop improved a lot. Here’s a photo: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

Out of curiosity, why can’t a rabbit eat grass that may be inhabited by raccoons?

DanaNM replied to the topic Health insurance for buns? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 2 years, 7 months ago
Personally I don’t do pet insurance anymore because with four rabbits and my cat it would be over 300 per month and I know that I’m not spending 3600 per year on vet bills normally. I know an emergency can wrack up a huge bill though. The one time I had something go wrong with my cat it wasn’t covered. I think the options in the UK are better,…[Read more]

I wonder if he could have a molar spur forming that’s poking him in the side of the mouth? The safest bet would be to have a dental check up with the vet.

What have you done so far to bond them? It would be helpful to get a sense of how long you have been working with them and what steps you’ve taken.

Don’t let them interact at all until after he is neutered and his hormones have had a chance to settle for a few weeks. It’s fine for them to live side by side for now though, just make sure they can’t “get at” each other. You would be surprised how high buns can actually jump when they are trying to get to another rabbit!
It’s great they don’t…[Read more]

At 13 weeks puberty is likely kicking in. Don’t be alarmed if litter box habits go out the window for a while until you spay her.

Did they sedate him to look at his teeth or do dental x-rays? It’s very hard/impossible to see a rabbit’s back molars without anesthesia.
Have his poops improved?

He is a year and 4 months. He is NOT eating hay. He is eating everything else. I will get him fresh grass.
From what they are telling me, his molars are fine. Could there be something wrong below the gumline or an issue that they are not seeing? How hard can this be?

Bloodworks could reveal inflammatory/infectious markers. They check white blood cells and immunoglobulines.
That said, his good response to pain relief could hold a key to what is wrong. How old is your bun?
It’s not very likely that syringe feeding would cause a sore in his mouth, plus you wouldnt have had to syringe feed him if he hadnt…[Read more]

I am back with an update. This second vet checked his teeth (incisors and molars) and said they look normal. They do not know what’s wrong with him. There was a small cut or lesion in his mouth but it’s probably from me poking him with the syringe 20 times a day. I don’t think this is why he won’t eat hay. They suggested full body and head x-rays…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Ate A Sticker in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 2 years, 7 months ago
Rabbits tend to chew whatever they eat into very small pieces. Because of their internal anatomy, bigger pieces of whatever they swallow cant pass through to their stomach. This is a great advantage because it means they won’t swallow socks or long strands of tinsel whole like dogs and cats are apt to do.
I’d keep an eye, push hay and water. If…[Read more]

The vast majority of the time, nothing bad happens. Just encourage hay and water. The plastic part should pass through.

Seems like I’m here a lot lately. Milo ate a sticker a few minutes ago, I’m not sure how big it was or what kind because I didn’t see the entirety of it. I think it’s made of plastic but I’m not totally sure. What should I do?

Have they all bonded?
I ask because I’m bonding a doe with my buck right now and I’m having the same issue. At this point they are both free roaming all day/night with light snuggling and overall contentment with each other. I believe they are still determining who will be the dominant rabbit of the pair, therefore I’m assuming this is just t…[Read more]

That makes me feel better! She still needs me to bug her some but she is starting to eat independently also. I still have to encourage water but I’m hoping to see that pick up soon too

That’s lovely!
I was asking why you suspected a blockage, because blockages in rabbits are a lot more rare than gut motility slowdown. Blockages are a huge lot more serious, but thankfully not very common.
If she didnt eat so much yesterday it’s normal for her to poop less today. This will right itself if she gets her appetite back and starts…[Read more]
