Last Christmas, Me and my dad built a hay rack from an old doll house/bunny house. I loved it but I couldn’t put it by the litter boxes because it was to short so I stopped using it. Today my dad built new wooden trim around the bottom of my NIC condo and calked it so not pee could soak through (so much easier for cleaning) and I asked him if he could make a stand on the hay rack. Here are some pictures!

Front view: Where the bunnies eat the hay. ( Mocha and Lulu were caught off guard in this picture. They would kill me if they new I posted it. Haha. Look at Mocha’s cute grumpy face!)

Back view! (where you refill the hay)

Fits perfectly over the top of the litter boxes. We had to cut two grids so their wasn’t a gap between the walls. I will admit, I was pretty sad when I had to do it. Lol

I had to put a grid wall around it just encase they jump in the back. Would have worked better if the back was against a wall. I am going to make a cover for the grids tomorrow so that its a little step they can sleep on and then I can open it when I need to refill the hay. I was to tired to do it tonight and my knee is bugging me.

Hope you enjoyed all the pics. Sorry their were so many pictures.

That’s so cool! And such a good idea, it’s like the perfect hay rack. Does it work well?
And NEVER apologize for extra pictures, in my opinion the more the merrier!

That looks perfect! I love that it looks like it holds quite a bit of hay.

Yes it does! That’s why I love it, my rabbits eat a TON of hay. They went through almost the whole box last night. It doesn’t make as much of a mess either. The rabbits put their front legs on the one of the holes and dig to get the best piece of hay out. Haha.

I’m stealing your idea Since my bunnies are free range and don’t have an actual cage or anything I have been using empty soda boxes to put their hay in but they keep pulling them out and making a mess with hay. I couldn’t figure out how to have a hay rack that can’t really be moved when I’ve got nothing to attach it to. This is perfect!

bunnyfriend, I’m stealing your idea! I’ve never thought to use a soda box, like a 12 pack would be perfect, I’ll put it in vertical so that I can have the top sticking out maybe? I’m not sure, but I think this will be AWESOME!
