Um.  Tomorrow night Patti (from the shelter Drue cam from) is dropping off a litter of six 3 month old mini lops for me to foster while she works on getting a whole slew of rabbits speutered and placed.  Some will be going to other rescues, some will be adopted out by her rescue.  She just needs a place to stash them because the animal control shelter is over flowing and they'll have to start euthing for space if they aren't moved.

SIX!

My 10 year old has been making space for them in her bedroom...she wants to share her room so the bunnies will have a quiet place where the dogs aren't allowed, a place to keep them separate from our bunny gen. pop. AND so she can hog them...lol  They supposedly won't be staying long but we have plans to work on socialization and all that fun stuff.

I'm excited and apprehensive at the same time.  Right now taking care of my own animals takes up a HUGE amount of time.  When I originally offered to foster I was thinking more along the lines of a single bunny or a bonded pair...lol  But I couldn't just let them die...so...send "smooth sailing" vibes our way...I'm sure we'll need them with 10 bunnies in the house!

Oh my! That's so exciting! That's so great of you to offer up your home to save the little bunnykins - especially so many of them! I can't even imagine...

Good luck with everything! Post some pics once they're settled in if you find a spare second! :-)

YAY!  Awesome, yes that animal control facility is insanely crowded!  I don't think I have ever seen a shelter that large with so many animals!  Did she say if that's the litter that the 13 year old had been raising?  I know there was a litter of 6 that she had been taking care of, but I can't remember if they were mini-lops or not.

Good luck!  10 bunnies! My gosh, I can't imagine LOL I have my hands full with Tucker and Drue!

She didn't say, just that she was sending out a plea, HRS committed to taking a bunch of them, and that the six I'm holding for her wouldn't make it if she didn't find a place to put them until she could get them spayed.

I'm excited to meet them but at the same time I'm counting down until they go. It's going to be a loooooot of work but it'll be so worth it.

I've never had a lop before. :0) Now I'll have six of them for a couple of weeks.

I found the article she had sent me about Casey and her six fosters, and they weren't lops so it wasn't them!

I can't wait to see pictures though! I bet they are adorable, I love lops.
