I left the room to turn on my hair straightener for a minute and Archie jumped onto the couch and grabbed our dvr remote from the tv tray and by the time I saw him with it he had chewed off 2 and 1/2 buttons.   So off to Time Warner this week to replace it.  The buttons won’t hurt him at all will it?  I think he injested a little bit of it.

For some reason, they really seem to enjoy chewing off remote buttons. Silly rabbits.. I think as long as he seems fine, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Just make sure he’s eating and drinking normally and not showing any signs of being in pain.

Thanks!  I’ll keep an eye on him.  Right now he’s laying down, but he usually is sleepy around 3 or 4.

We had a “play” remote (came free with something) and we would use it as a toy and he’d chase after it because he kept going for our remote to play with. (we’d never leave it on the ground and have him chew on it though)

He’s attracted to anything with rubber on it…so I can’t play with our Wii Fit Board when he’s out because he tries to chew the corners goofy rabbit!

Our buns go crazy for remote control buttons, and they’ve eaten several buttons off several remotes with no consequences other than the fact I can’t tell which is the mute button anymore.

yeah, there’s something about remotes… they’re irresistible to buns. Bunnytowne, i believe, wrapped hers in a small ziplock bag. she could still use it, but it protected it enough that the buns didn’t chew it.

                  That’s a really good idea!

Some of us have to use pens to change channels now LOL because there are no buttons left on our remotes. *sigh* nevermind, I don’t watch much TV anyway.

For a whole year Cotton never chewed remote buttons.  Then came a post with many comments about that.  Of course I said mine never did that.

Well 1 week later…..   I noticed missing buttons.  Had to buy a new universal remote.   Yep I covered it in plastic bag ahaha.  Works.

Unless of course i take it out of the bag and forget it on the floor and one button really got it good.

Funny thing last nite I thought I left it on the floor out of the bag I ran out from behind computer to see it was still in it’s bag

Ziploc bags are great for many a thing. Including saving remote buttons.   From what I know cost 10.oo to replace the cable remote.

OMG aspen has chewed off 6 buttons on our remote! So now i know to keep it out of her reach but i tried to hide it from  the husband b/c i didnt want aspen to get in trouble. So one day my husband noticed it and started to count the missing buttons…i tried so hard not to laugh. He got kinda mad and asked what happened and i said ” Sorry i got hungry” , so aspen wouldnt get in trouble lol. He kinda smirked.

LOL!  Yeah I was afraid my husband would get mad but he thought it was funny.  The remote in the bag sounds like a good idea.  I’m moving all the remotes to the entertainment center because Archie will even climb up on the couch and try to crawl onto the end table where they were.  He’s very sneaky..and can always tell he’s up to something when he starts “walking” instead of hoping to places..it’s cute.    It’s so hard to be mad at anything so cute and furry.  Hehe!

Oh so far he’s eating good and doesn’t seem to have any problems…I’m sure I’ll see “Info” in the liter soon haha!

I know right! I can never get mad at the buns… i picked aspen up and held her up to husbands face and said ” how can you get mad at her? Look at that innocent face!” ha ha

I’m not saying remote  buttons are health food, but lots of buns eat them and are fine. Many of us have to use a nail file to press the button when they are done with it…Here’s what mine look like!!

I guess I’m lucky for only have 2 buttons missing then!  Wish it would have been the tv remote we hardly use instead of the dvr remote (since we’ll eventually have to pay for a replacement).

I have a remote that has also fallen victim to a bunny appetite – I now make sure they’re all kept on high grounds!

Yep and growing every day too.  We ought to send the buns to remote buttonaholics or something.  I would be afraid they would dream up more stuff to do. Bad stuff.

Gosh K&K your remotes really took a chewing didnt’ they? by the way  be careful using the pencil to press the buttons the buns love erasers too.

Yep got to press real hard on those buttonless things these days Eh?

who meeee?  eat what???  Naaaaa not meeeee

Has anyone tried to repair their remotes? If the buttons are in whole enough pieces, superglue WORKS! However, my rabbit Kuromi is a button feind and has been swallowing them lately, and I was thinking of buying some liquid rubber and recasting the buttons using paper molds that would outline the buttons. Has anyone tried this? I’d prefer an epoxy style set up where you mix two solutions, that way it’s reusable the next time I fall asleep with the remote in my lap, or get up to go the bathroom with out flipping the remote over (yes she loves the remote that much, that she hunts it out).

Thanks for the plastic bag trick BTW, I’ll give it a shot.
