Does anybody know of any rescues for buns in WEST Texas? I found lots of rescues in Central/East/North/South TX but I am having no luck whatsoever in West. I live in the small, small town of Fort Davis and it’s a 3 hour drive to Midland/Odessa, so my range for rescues isn’t all that great, since there is not a lot to work with out here. Basically any rescues in all of west texas at/below Lubbock will fly for me! If any of you know of any, please let me know, I really would love to help!

        Thanks!

            Hi DallasDelight,

A good way to find bunnies in your area that are looking for homes is to go to Petfinder (http://www.petfinder.com), put in your zip code and select rabbit from the drop down menus on the left. Most shelters and rescues use petfinder, and it will give you an idea of what is available in your area.

Hello, my boss lives in Ft. Davis two weeks out of every month and brings back the Jeff Davis County Humane Society newsletter for me to read. Perhaps you can get in touch with them and if they have any rabbits, they can let you know if you can volunteer there. There are only animal shelters sponsored by the towns out that way from El Paso to Lubbock, I am originally from Levelland, and there are only dogs and cats and some farm animals most of the time. Or you can go to Craigslist.org to the pets section and browse for animal rescues in that area too.

              Carla.

i agree that you should check petfinder. there are sometimes smaller privately run rescues that will post rabbits for adoption. it may be someone who does it from their home and only has a few bunnies, but it’s something.

I volunteer at the North Texas Rabbit Sanctuary that is in Dallas – I will check with them to see if they know of any rescues in your area. Perhaps we could even arrange some kind of transport. Send me an email through my BinkyBunny email if you want me to try to see if I can arrange something!
