I’ve noticed that my lop girl’s ears aren’t terribly fur-covered either.  I can see pink skin quite clearly under her black fur.  I seem to recall it used to be thicker, but I’m not totally sure.

Have your bunnies been going through a molt? Do you see any flakes and/or do the ears seem to be itchy to the rabbit?

a molt is a routine heavy shedding that happens several times a year for most bunnies. So if he’s losing fur all over, then it’s likely a molt.
