I bought a can of concentrated frozen 100% apple juice and simmered the sticks on the stove in sets of 25 for 5min each. I had to add a little water to the last batch because they were gettin kinda sticky. They held the taste-I know cause i licked one to make sure. lol
So my buns have been playing with them but not sure if they think they are all that great-they are hard to please.
Cookie-
Did you get a chance to try and make the flavored popsicle sticks for your buns? My girls didnt like them but I took them to the shelter and they were a huge success! The buns were taking them out of my hands before I could lay them down!
Oh and cookie, i have heard that if you ever have a problem with your bun drinking enough water you can "flavor" the water by putting just a little bit of apple juice in it to make it more interesting.
i tried this with my domi (short for domino) and he didnt even notice them....
Those of you who your bun didnt notice the flavored sticks- did you just leave the popsicle sticks in the juice overnight or did you simmer them on the stove? They seem to hold their flavor better if cooked on the stove for 5min.
Also, dont forget there are tons of other flavors out there. Maybe your buns dont care for apple? I found a pineapple orange 100% juice i am gonna try as well as a white grape and rasberry mixture.
