Hi.  I have acquired a jersey wooley bunny and know that she needs more grooming then my previous foster bunnies but am unsure actually what tools to use.  I used to just use a soft baby brush on my short coated rabbits about once a week or so.  My new girl, Bridgette, is quite tolerant and doesn't mind being brushed except near her face.  I have been using a rolling "tangle -free" comb to comb her once a day but I don't know if this is adequate to get out enough hair.  I don't want her to ingest too much hair and get sick.  I have heard that slicker brushes are too hard on bunnies though.  Any ideas/experience in this area?  Thanks for your help!  I love this forum

I forgot to say that I think she is a mix but I got her from a shelter so I don't know for sure. Her hair on her back is not really that much longer than normal bunny fur. It is just all around the fringes that is is really long so I don't know if that changes things or not.

Even though Medusa is short hair, I use a dog brush that grabs the undercoat. The brush has a base that you can push out, which pushes out the hair into the trash. I got it at Target in the pet section. The bristles are wire and I don't think they are too rough at all. If anything it probably feels like a tingly massage. Medusa seemed to like it.
