So I've looked at a lot of these toys that everyone has come up with and one day I had an idea of my own. I call this The Jellyfish, you'll know why by the picture. All you have to do is take a flat piece of cardboard, you can cut off one of the sides of an old box if you have one. Using either a pair of scissors, the tip of a knife, or a really sharp pencil depending on the thickness of your cardboard; poke a bunch of holes in the cardboard, just scatter them about. Then take your local newspaper and shred it into inch wide pieces going down, the long way. Take one of the ends of the shredded paper and twist it until it's thin enough to fit through the holes in the cardboard. Continue until you have enough pieces of paper hanging. Put a hole in the center of 2 of the oppossing ends and tie a string through the holes to hang it. Then hang it in a doorway or somewhere low to the ground where your bunny can chew and run through the "curtain". My rabbit loved this, I made it about a month ago and she's still playing with it. The best part is, once all the paper is pulled and ripped off you can just rethread it and it's brand new again. Here are a few pictures.

Thanks so much for this wonderful idea, CowieCow !
I made two of these last evening whilst hubby was watching the Superbowl (yuck !) and hung them in my baby Isabella & Rambo's cages. Izzy went running through them immediately and periscoping checking it out & Rambo starting ripping the paper and eating it, LOL ! So they were very well received, hehehe
Thanks again for this great contribution ! I have 3 more to make for my other bunns ;o)

Well I get all my cardboard boxes from work, mostly just to make toys for Cowie. The piece of cardboard I used though for this actually came from a package of construction paper, sometimes it will come with a piece of cardboard just for structure support ya know. But ummm.... you could probably go to your local grocery store and ask them for boxes, you know they through out a ton everyday. |

I made a version of the Jellyfish. We call it the Jellyfish Cave. I poked holes in the top of a box and threaded the newspaper through. Booker LOVES it. She like to hid in side and pull in the news paper! Thanks for the great idea !!! |

Welcome BookerTRabbit!! I'm so glad your bunny loved your version - the Jellyfish Cave! We'd love to see pics! But even if you didn't get pics, be sure to stop by the lounge and introduce Booker! We want to know what she looks like and what she is like in general. |

Sadly Coco didn't go for it. She seemed suspicious of the whole thing...although La Chatte looked hopeful that something tasty might emerge from the newspaper tentacles. I took it down after four days. Some day I will find a toy she really likes.... |
