So I noticed one day when I was putting cord protectors on the exposed cords in our living room that lullabelle was following me around pouncing like a cat on the protectors. It was a long tube and it was dragging on the floor behind me. I let her play with it for awhile when I got the idea of getting her one of those cat toys with the ball on the end of the string.

So i bought it for her — and she cannot get enough of it. Its simply hilarious, She looks like a cat with big ears the way she plays with it. She jumps around pouncing at it, and she takes it and hides it under the couch. I have to wait until shes out of the room to get it out again or else i get a growl.

She also played tug-o-war with me and the silly thing. It comes with a stretchy string and i grabbed it with my mouth and she grabbed the other end with her mouth and we tugged for like 1/2 hour. LOL. It was so cute. I suggest you see if your bunnies would like something like this because lulla cannot get enough!

This isn’t exactly what i have — but its what i’m talking about. what I have has a ball at the end – it came with feathers too which i removed because she went right for them!

that sounds so cute… and it’s something i never even thought of.  neat idea.  of course, make sure to watch that she doesn’t eat the stretchy string… i’m sure she could chew it off in about two seconds!

yes that is something i should have added — because the toy thing was not made for a super chewing machine I only let her have it when I’m playing with her. It has a little bell she could chew off too — so if you do try this with your bunny make sure that you always have a hold of it or at least watch it so you can get it away from your bunny if it has lose parts it could go for. Like i said, the one i have had feathers on it and since I only intended it to be a supervised toy I decided to let her see what she thought of the feathers — turns out it was food. So I immediately removed the feathers.

i figured you’d watch her with it… just wanted to make sure that if anyone else tries it, they’re careful.  i wouldn’t mind a pic or two of her playing with it, it must be so cute!

Does what you have have catnip in it? Many cat toys do.

How fun! I can’t get my bunnies to play with anything – excpet for anything that I DON”T want them to play with, which they magically sense and then chew and tear it apart (I lost the cover of my new Vegetarian Times to them yesterday). I’d love to see pics too if you get a chance sometime! Have you ever tried playing “catch” by rolling a willow ball or another large ball to Lullabelle? It sounds like she might be one of those bunnies that enjoys that

She might also like something like this possibly.  It’s fun to toss around and maybe you can play tug-of-war with this as well.

I tried that cat toy, the bouncy one on the string…but no takers!

Aw, how cute! I tried a similar cat toy with Quincy. At first, it was hilarious! He would periscope wildly, hissing and boxing at it. Then he would grab it and either tug-of-war or run. But for some reason he completely lost interest in it after about half an hour.

i just re-read this post since i seen it had been commented on recently. i don’t remember if i ever posted the videos that i took of lulla playing with the toy since i posted this literally months ago….so i’ll resend the links to it on photobucket. i think i only have 1 uploaded, copy and paste the link:

also, you should all see how much lulla has grown. when i got her she was about 2-3lbs. she is now 9lbs and still growing. she just won’t stop! i’ve got me a big girl! haha
