Hi, we just put our rabbit, Ace in his brand new 2 soon to be 3 story condo. So far he can go UP the ramp to the second floor, but he have not yet seen him go DOWN the ramp. We put greens etc on the lower floor to entice him, as seemed content hanging out on top floor where his hay bin is, but when we woke up this morning, his greens were untouched. We even put greens ON the ramp to intice him. We have tried to put him ON the ramp and he just digs in with front feet and doesn’t want to go.

He used to have free range in my sons room and would jump and climb everything-so could it be that he is just timid, being in a new room (we moved him to a different room)? This is a trial run as we are building three of these condos side by side for all three of our rabbits (one we haven’t brought home yet)…do we just give it some time with the ramp? Or do I do something else?

He could be timid. You could give it a week more. If he still hasn’t dared go down the ramp by then, you could perhaps modify the ramp with horizontal slats for better grip.

It took a while before my Bam used his ramp in the cage he has at my mother’s. She didn’t think he’d be able to use it, and the next thing she knew he was going up and down it like it was nothing.

Thank you! The ramp does have horizontal slats, I will give it a bit and see if he starts going down on his own. If not, I have seen some wonderful examples on this board of platforms etc., I could try instead of the ramp. Cant wait to get the other two condos done and move everyone in.
