Velvet has yellow feet. They stink, they are staining his fur, and make it not so pleasant to hold him. I have tried to give him a foot bath before and it worked a bit on the odor but not the color (he also refused to stay in like two inches of water for more than 5 seconds). I think they get dirty quick from standing in his litter box. I change it at least once a day but am wanting to find one with a screen on top. Where can I find one for a reasonable price? How can I give my bunny a back end bath? Cold weather is also a concern because I know the bunny can get cold fast.

The only time I needed to clean my bun’s feet and butt, the vet recommended me to use a tiny amount of dry shampoo for animals, massage it on him and then dry him off with a clean cloth.

The Binky Bunny store has the litter boxes with the screens, or just the screen to use in your own box, but they aren’t available right now. I assume they’ll be back in stock soon. https://store.binkybunny.com/rabbit-supplies-c17.aspx.

I’ve seen some posts here where people made their own screens. Maybe you can find those threads if you do a forum search.

What kind of litter are you using? It sounds like you might need to change to a different kind, if your bunny’s feet are constantly wet and stained. I have an article on litter that I can post.

You can use cornstarch powder to give a rabbit a dry bath. Here are the instructions for both a dry and wet bath. http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/buttbath.html. A few times, I have had to give an elderly bunny a butt bath. I used a hypoallergenic bar of soap, just a little piece. Clearly Natural and Kirk’s Castille are two good ones.

It’s ok to use a dry bath? I have a foaming soap that requires no bath I got at Walmart called citrus magic pet. Didn’t know if it is great to use because they lick themselves and the soap would be in their fur. I am using a paper bedding/litter by Kaytee and have a small corner box.

I’m not sure that the foaming soap would be safe. It sounds like that might be meant for dogs. Buy some cornstarch powder if you want to give a dry bath. That should be available at any drug store or at grocery stores. It might be in the baby section.

Your problem may be that the litter box is too small. Those small corner ones meant to go in cages really are not large enough, unless you have a really small rabbit.

Ditto the cornstarch. I use that a lot for my lop who can’t was well.
