I got a 2 month old bunny named Phoebe last week and the girl i got her from said that Phoebe has eaten some greens. Can i feed her those same greens then or should i wait until she’s 3 months? I have been feeding her some celery, romaine lettuce, and parsley (less than a cup) every day since I got her and she seems to be doing fine. Her poop is dark brown, moist, and can be smushed when i squeeze it between my two fingers. Is that all normal? Phoebe has unlimited timothy hay, water, and some alfalfa pellets as well.

If she’s already been started on vegs, you can continue giving them. The 12-week rule is more of a precaution than an absolute must. Some baby buns start nibbling on greens while they’re still with their mum, and that’s fine. Keep an eye on her poop, just like you’re doing.

Baby buns need a little richer food than adult buns, and because of that, their poop is often more moist than adult buns’ poop. That’s quite ok. What you need to beware of is true diarrhea. That’s not at all the same as sticky poop, diarrhea is runny poop, watery or mucosy. If a baby bun gets true diarrhea, it needs vet care asap because they dehydrate quickly. The cause is most often a parasite or bad bacteria and can be successfully treated with the right meds.
