I was thinking about getting another rabbit after I get my Flemish doe fixed but I think she is already bonded with my dog. He’s a jrt mix, and she just adores him. They lay together and he’ll even put his nose on hers like a real rabbit bond. She does the mating dance around him but he is completely oblivious (men!). I wanted to get a fixed male for her so she’s not lonely but if they are already bonded maybe I don’t need to? They play together (always supervised of course but I never let her out when I can’t watch her anyway because she will find a way to destroy /something/ despite my multiple attempts at rabbit proofing), they cuddle together, come beg for human food together, and, against my wishes, share food out of the same bowl with zero issues. Even though he’s half hunting breed he is always gentle with all my animals and doesn’t even death shake his toys. He even plays with the local wildlife gently! We live in Florida so there are lizards and beetles all over. Some of the beetles don’t make it but he doesn’t seem to understand why XD
Anyway, I was just wondering if another rabbit is even necessary because of what they have together.

Hi, I’m of the same opinion as you – my bun was friends with my rainbow dog and my cat and I think she was quite happy with those two.

In the wild outback nature I don’t think this would happen, but of course in our homes with tame cats and dogs it’s always happening. How many people do you still hear saying “you can never keep cat and dogs together”

This time tomorrow my gorgeous cat will have left to join my rainbow dog, so I’ll have to have a rethink.
For now though, my bunny is more than content with me as her buddy too !

Some buns are happy pretending to be people….

Stay as you are for now – I think a bun and a jrt being best buddies is just lovely. (Any photos ? )

My bunny is bonded with my cat. I have two cats. She chose one as hers. The other cat is furniture to her.

If anything, I think another rabbit might cause some jealousy. I wouldn’t mess with a good thing.

I do have photos but it says they’re too big to post on here. My dog has an instagram @krypto.the.super.dog and there’s pics of them together on there. Thanks Odette, I am glad I don’t have to get another rabbit a little bit. We have enough animals as it is! That’s funny yours doesn’t like the other cat. We had a goat for a little bit and when I brought him in the house during a storm Lucky started thumping which I’ve never seen her do. All the animals we have now are caged except the rabbit and the dog, so there will be no more disturbance to their bond. Thanks guys for your help!

Krypto has the best expressions. Is he part Catahoula Curr?

                  They look very chill together.

He’s Jack Russell and I think Yorkie. We did think it was chihuahua and Jack but he’s just not barky or a picky eater or anything. They have a color Yorkie called “parti” and I think that’s what his one parent was
