So I recently adopted a flemish giant named Fonzie. He’s an adorable little fella who loves when we go outside.

Today I was in the backyard with him, and this squirrel kept hopping up on the fence and making strange/angry noises towards Fonzie. The squirrel kept coming into the backyard and going towards Fonz. I kept scarring it away.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had experience with squirrels outside bugging their rabbits?

I’m not too researched on squirrels, but my guess is in his eyes Fonzie was intruding on his territory. I would be very careful, who knows what the squirrel might do and you just don’t want your bunny getting hurt. That is very interesting though; I never would have thought of a squirrel approaching a bunny.

We have squirrels and at one time, a squirrel was sitting on a tree-branch and chattered angrily and threw small sticks at my dog. She might have had babies nearby. We have he small red squirrels here and my dog is a GSD, so I wasn’t too worried.
But even small squirrels kill and eat nestlings, they have teeth that go through hazelnut shells, so it’s best not to underestimate them.
