My little one is a single bun – he rejects other buns – and he seems happy and well adjusted. What I do is include him in EVERYthing I do and talk to him all the time. It seems to work in making him feel like he has a “buddy”.

Do you have any other pets? I had a single bunny living with me on the weekends for a while and then about 1.5 months in the summer, and he enjoyed running around the house with one of our cats. He’d even jump over things just to get to be with her (only times I saw him run and jump).
Also, just me being on the floor with him, playing with a willow ball or grooming him seemed to make him happy.

It’s definitely possible to have a happy, healthy singleton. You say that your rabbit seems lonely. Is he acting out? Moping? Destructive? All of these things can be a sad bunny. I think the most important thing for single rabbits is companionship with their owners. We are the only social interaction they have. It is vital to spend as much time as possible with your bunny. I work during the day but let my rabbit out to play in the morning and as soon as I get home at night. There are exceptions if something comes up, but I try to give him as much playtime as will fit into my schedule.

Also, your rabbit might just be bored. Make sure to have plenty of interactive toys that you can rotate so they will always be exciting. Mine really enjoys toilet paper rolls cut so there is is fringe on the ends to toss around. I also fill them with hay for snacking. Baby keys, sea grass mats, and wood chews are all great options. I hope your rabbit feels happier soon.

he does have lots of toys but he doesnt seem interested really. He is not acting out biting or anything like that. He doesnt really interact with me unless i hve food i mean he lets me pet him and all. but its kind of hard because he always stays in the second level of his cage and i cant really interact with very well. I do free range him but he just doesnt seem interested well sometimes he likes it but he prefers staying in his cage. SO it makes me want to get another bunny i have been planning it out for quite some time and done a lot of research but im quite nervous they wont get along! But i just feel like he would be so much happier with another bunny since he was so close to his sister
