I have to admit, I had my doubts about how “tame” a bunny could be, but man was I wrong, this guy has only been here a day and he’s chinning all the things in his cage and running around my step daughters room doing the jumpy twisty thing (WHICH IS HILARIOUS BTW) he’s licking people and enjoys being pet, he even hangs out on my step daughters bed and just stretches out while the kids watch tv and love on him. He’s doing a chatter thing with his teeth, which when I had rats it was called bruxing and was a sign of contentment, so far no signs that I can see of him being at all unhappy with his lot in life lol He was of course pretty scared on the car ride home, but as soon as he got here he was just so dang HAPPY! IDK if we got extremely lucky with this bunny or if they’re mostly this awesome but I definitely didn’t expect him to seek out attention and put himself right in the middle of all of the kids to be pet and loved!

CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME HOME, (psst- what’s his name??)

I just got our new bunny today as well! I know how excited you are! While mine is a different (less excited) breed, he is also extremely tame. I think this is totally due to excellent (and frequent!) handling by the breeder/ previous owner.

What a beautiful bunny! His markings are fantastic. Sounds like he has an awesome personality too!

Today’s been an exciting day for new bunnies.

Oh and apparently we have to secure his carpets on his shelves better, he likes to slide down the shelf , taking the carpet with him, we put the carpet back and he does it over and over again! LOL

What an absolute cutie! I could waste away hours just watching him.
Looks like he’s discovered a new game. Maybe some binder clips on the back of the shelves to hold the carpet?

Awww Mousee is so cute!!! Sounds like he is making himself right at home LOL. I used to have rats too, 4 females at a time living together. Man do they make GREAT pets, other than the multitude of fatal health problems they all seem to face.

Oh and the eyes make me think we need a cherry. Hungry yet???

I was pretty lucky with my rats, just the usual respiratory issues that had to be treated every few months, I did have one that died of late onset  megacolon. But the rest lived long lives as far as rats go, they just stop responding to the meds for their respiratory issues and end up passing away. Of course there could be underlying issues that aren’t apparent, but that is all my vet has ever found wrong with any of them. I worried when I got my first girls because of how common tumors are, but that never happened to my girls thank goodness. Rats are probably my favorite animal ever, but I had to take a good break from the death. 2-4 years just doesn’t seem like enough time.

My brother’s marriage’s posh meal menu (donkey’s ago) should have read Chocolate Mousse – but yup, you guessed, it said “Chocolate Mouse” for dessert !!
