        Hi everybun,

Found “blood” spots on the blanket

Lemon is on anti-biotic for her sneezes. The stain quickly dissolves into yellow when I wipe it with a wet paper towel. Lemon’s pee is usually pretty red (perhaps due to anti-biotic) but this stain looks too much like blood! She is eating and pooing normally. What should a bunny mama do?!

If you have hydrogen peroxide you can pour some on the stain, if it’s blood it will foam a lot.
Antibiotics often color the pee red.
Is she spayed? Have you seen her struggle to pee?

she is spayed. I have not seen her struggle to pee… she is definitely peeing a lot as usual.

I’m glad she’s spayed, uterine problems are so common in unspayed does and will often start with a bloody discharge. Glad that’s ruled out!

A UTI would be painful and cause her to drip urine or urinate in small small portions very often, often with visible struggling. So that doesn’t seem likely.

I still think you should ask your vet about it. A peroxide test is pretty much the only way you can find out at home if it is blood or just pigmented urine.

It looks like pigmented pee to me. Bam is correct, antibiotics can turn pee red.
