Hello! So Charlie loves to be pet and kissed, however, not surprisingly doesn’t care much for being held. I am trying to just slowly get her used to it so that when I need to for nail trims or checking her for health reasons she does so without a fight. So I was holding her today, just cuddled up against my chest, and she closed her eyes and her nose stopped twitching, I just want to know, was she actually sleeping or was she just really scared?? I was petting her and rubbing her ears as I was holding her which she really enjoys so I just want to know, because after about five minutes she just snapped awake and decided she didn’t want anymore. Please let me know!!! BTW: her feet were on my body and she was facing me so don’t say I was trancing because she was not on her back.

it doesn’t sound like she was scared. it seems like she was comfy for that minute and was enjoying pets so she decided to grace you with her snuggles! then she was done with it. this may just be her getting used to you slowly. she may do it again or she may never. My buns will surprise me every now and then by being extra snuggly for a few minutes. it sounds like you handled it well and let her be done when she decided. this is especially good because if she’s thinking “hmm that was kind of nice..” she will probably do it again as long as she knows you aren’t forcing her since you let her get down once she was done. this appears to be just you making progress with her

She fell asleep or was just in super relaxed mode My Bombur who hates all sort of handling will ask for cuddles like this once in a blue moon (he will crawl into my or my boyfriends lap then stare at our hands). However, he doesnt simply leave when he is done, he will kick/box/claw/bite then hop away
