  I have been giving my 2 neutered males basket dates for about a week. One has been neutered for over a month and the other for about 4 months or so. The younger one started off humping the older one a bit but most of the time it is snuggles and the older one grooms the younger one. Yesterday we did a bit larger of a space..nothing too big maybe 2 1/2 feet by 4. This time the older one tried to hump the younger one and there was some circling but still the older one groomed the younger a few times and there was no obvious violence. I might take a video next time and post it for thoughts but I was wondering if that all sounds okay? I want to do another play date in that same area but I want to make sure that the behavior we saw yesterday was normal and on the positive or even neutral side before we do it again. I want to make sure I go at a pace that isn’t detrimental!

  It sounds like the bonding is going pretty well. You can expect some humping and maybe even a little scuffing, but you don’t want excessive humping or the scuffling to turn into out and out fighting. I have had good success bonding all of my rabbits in an x-pen, where my husband and I are both in it with them. All of my pairs have been male/female pairs.
