Hey guys first time posting on here but have been reading many of your posts so thank you for all your info and help on my question to become a bunny expert!

So a little back story I’ve had Harley for a couple of months now he is 6 months and neutered a week ago. Today I brought home a beautiful girl who is 5 months old and is not spayed. The man I adopted her from had her in a wooden box that was very small in comparison to the home Harley has so I just couldn’t leave her there! I do plan on getting her spayed as soon as I can before I start the bonding process properly but I did let them meet and share the pet carrier home for some initial bonding. They currently share my spare bedroom but have separate enclosures. Harley has a hutch and always has access to his Xpen but unfortunately for the moment Lola just has 2 by 3 NIC when I’m not home with hours roaming the living room when I can. So when they are in their room together Harley keeps honking thumping and running periodically and I’m totally confused as Lola doesn’t seem to be doing anything at all to cause this. Is it just her smell and maybe he is annoyed at having to share his room with her?

I’m hoping to start the bonding process 4 weeks after she is spayed so allow her to recover but do you guys think I should keep them in separate rooms until then? I don’t want to mess it up before its even begun!

I don’t want to alarm you, but you need to keep them separate. Harley was neutered only a week ago. He is still hormonal and he still has viable sperm. He is probably becoming excited because your new girl isn’t spayed and he is detecting her hormones. He wants to make babies. So keep them separate until she is spayed and healed (or, at the very least, until 4-6 weeks after his neuter).
