Greetings all! I am new to the forum and have found this site very useful but alas my beautiful bunbuns have forced me into writing!! I have three most lovely babies, exactly 5 weeks old. One of my lovelies has taken to mounting a sibling, even pulling hair out!! I have broken this up twice now, it only happens outside the hutch during exercise time and as soon as jumper thumper sees me or mama bunny the activity stops!
My questions are; aren’t they too young for this? I mean, the mama is a mini Rex, so I believe that 5 weeks is WAY to young to be sexually mature and secondly, should I be concerned about, I don’t know maybe humper thumper is being a bully?
Please help! Thank you in advance!

They can mount to show alpha, just seperate them until neutered.

But I really can’t do that…..Mama Pooka still nurses them, they are only 5 weeks old. I try to keep them separate during exercise time but they all want to play together.

They should remain with their mother until they are weaned. I agree though, this does sound like aggressive behavior. It’s likely they are not hormonal yet at just 5 weeks old. This doesn’t mean that siblings don’t get into fights with one another and mounting/humping is a way to show dominance. This little guy is probably trying to tell everyone he thinks he should be top bun. If playtime seems to be a trigger for him then perhaps they should have separate playtimes to see if that helps curb the behavior.

Playtime is the trigger! It seems to only happen then! They are now 6 weeks old, I found a vet who says at 8 weeks they will sex them so I can seperate them if need be!!
