Hey guys so just a few minutes ago i was petting my bunny and everything seems fine he lets me rub his head and he puts his head down and closes his eyes. But then when i was trying to give him timothy hay seeds, he took the first one and while he was eating it he started thumping? i have no idea why i didn’t do anything to startle him or anything and he just kept thumping so i decided to leave him so he could stay calm again.  Any ideas why this might’ve happened?

He may well have sensed some form of danger that we humans can’t hear/see/sense. It happens with Theo occasionally but he soon calms down, I think sometimes he can hear next door neighbours cat or sometimes he does it if it’s very windy outside and he hears it through the chimney. As the others have said, too, it could be excitement. Theo’s never thumped from excitement but I’ve heard of lots of bunnies who have
