Today, Clover made herself at home in my lap and fell asleep.  (See picture.)  I mean, deep, twitching, belly in the air, deep REM sleep, unconscious.  In the course of her nap, she very visibly relaxed bodily.  You could see her go completely limp.

And, when she did so, she proceeded to drop about a dozen poop pellets in my lap.  So my question is, is this a normal thing when rabbits sleep?  Or was this a special gift for me?  I didn’t scold or correct her, and she’s very good about using her litter box, so this event has me a little confused.  I’m taking it as a compliment, and my 11 year old daughter laughed for an half an hour, the little wretch.

          LOOOL

Take as a compliment the fact that Clover trusts you enough to pass out in your lap. It’s not uncommon for buns to poop in their sleep or when very relaxed. But a dozen is a lot of presents. So I’m thinking that Clover wanted you to feel like one of the buns?

I think that you should take it as a compliment too.   One of my past rabbits got so relaxed when she fell asleep, that she would pee in her sleep. Hopefully, yours won’t do that while sleeping in your lap.
